While we were disappointed neither of them made it to Hunter round two, we've stayed with Talent prep for 3 years for each of them to give them additional support to build a strong educational foundation across reading and math. Had an amazing experience with Idea Tutors!…read more After not taking a math class in years, I came in halfway through Calculus already failing the class and prepping for midterms. I also have a crazy hectic schedule as I work full time and am also going back to school. Nightmare client. I've never needed/gotten tutoring before so I was pretty skeptical but reached out anyway. Andrew connected me with Amy and she helped me catch up and pass the class. When I moved on to Calculus 2, I thought I might go it alone but quickly realized I couldn't hack it without help. I reached out again and worked with someone new, Teresa. She helped me go from failing the class to getting an A! Without the help of this group there's no way this could've been possible. I'm hugely in their debt. Both tutors were incredibly kind, patient, responsive, flexible and most of all, helpful. Andrew also is always kind and lightning fast responsive, exactly what you need when you're in a pinch. We worked together online using Skype and a great little whiteboarding app called Ziteboard. I was skeptical of that too, but it worked SO well and made scheduling so much easier! You pay for classes in a chunk but they practically instantly refund whatever you don't need. Cannot say enough nice things about Idea Tutors. Thank you!!

I worked with Bara and two of TPNY's tutors last spring/summer to prepare for the GMAT, and they…read morewere phenomenal. I opted for tutoring vs. a class to get more individual attention and also a more tailored experience - focusing in on particular weaknesses rather than spending time learning everything from bottom-up to be applicable in a group setting. It really paid off. My tutors (Jennifer and Karen for quant and verbal, respectively) were really great, able to zero in really quickly on my particular areas of weakness and help develop my skills to address those problems (and quickly). Bara and Jennifer both also provide help with confidence, anxiety relief, and Jennifer even sent a pre-test-day brain food list. Taking a practice GMAT cold, no prep, I was at 640. With a little self-study, I was around 700. Working with TPNY, and taking the GMAT twice, I scored a 740, and then a 780. They're really top notch.

I was really satisfied with NYTP because: -The tutors are overqualified and give you great tips on how to handle the test (more broadly than just strategies for specific problems). Some of the tutors are also authors of GMAT textbooks -The advice was customized specifically for me - no canned approaches - saving time and helping me focus -Their material is excellent and designed to help you boost your score (especially above 700, if that's what you're going for) After having been through the entire Princeton Review experience, I can attest that if you want a tailored approach to help you maximize your score, NYTP has an excellent offering. I broke 700 in just 4 weeks! For me, it was well worth the value.

He assessed my kids and recommended which test to focus on (ISEE or SSAT) for the private NYC high school admissions. My twin boys, age 14, liked him a lot and connected with his teaching style. They found him to be relatable, kind and focused. His instruction is both skills and strategy driven. I found Ben to be extremely professional and reliable, with excellent follow-up after every lesson. He targeted which skills they should focus on, made targeted recommendations and was very thoughtful about their tutoring program. My children ended up both getting into their first choice schools. I have referred his service to a friend who works with a different Manhattan Tutor, and she is also very happy. I intend to hire Manhattan Tutors again when we are ready to study for the SAT's for college admissions.

I just want to thank all of the teachers at Applauden Academy for everything you've done for me…read morethese past few months. Applauden has helped me immensely in my preparation for high school. Schooling vigourously at Applauden academy really supported me in many ways. Ms. Mira and Alex truly took my writing abilities to a much more advanced standard. And Jon graciously helped with my SSAT prep for high school and my school work. And last but not least I want to thank Max. His tremendous help with my BCA exam really broadened my math capabilities and his positivity really encouraged me. When I took the BCA test, it was HARD. VERY HARD! But, with the tips and practice that I obtained from learning at Applauden Academy, I tried my absolute best. Even though I may not get into BCA, I know that the experience of applying and preparing for it was very beneficial. And especially my experience at Applauden. The things that I've learned and the friends that I've made really made these past few months one of the best. Thank you again!
