Mr. Syd is very hospitable and goes over and beyond for his customers. He didn't mind given me insight on how to read my tires, as well as, how to shop for a good tire. I had never been shown what all of the numbers meant on a tire until I met Mr. Syd. His shop closes at 5:00 PM, through the week, but I couldn't get there until 5:37 PM and he patiently waited for me and put my tires on with a smile. I found out about The Tire Store by searching for a place to purchase tires near my house. I noticed the majority had 2 or less stars, but The Tire Store had 5 stars. I texted Sid my tire requirements on Saturday morning. He immediately called me back. I wasn't aware that the store was closed on Saturday, but explained-in detailed which tires would be the best for my vehicle. I was impressed with Sid's professionalism and how knowledgeable he was about my car and the tires I needed. And the way my car drives with those tires is amazing. I don't even want to give this establishment one star. I took my car there because the tire light came on in the car. I left it there for hours only to be told there's nothing wrong with any of my tires. I was charged $15. Hours later my front tire was flattening and because they were closed for the day, I had to get it plugged by another establishment for $20. They found a nail in the front driver tire. It took maybe 5 mins to take the tire off manually and roll the tire to find the reason for the leak, a nail. I called Tire Store the following morning and was told that there would be no refund. The manager/owner told me that he advised his staff member not to look so hard for the problem. He told me he did what he could do and hung up on me after I asked about the company's responsibility. I took my car to Tire Store because I believed there to be a slow leak (which the light in the car indicated), you charged me to check the car, you didn't check the tires well enough to find the leak and take no responsibility it that error. I am utterly disgusted by their lack of responsibility in not finding the reason for the slow leak and no service recovery, not to mention the manager's overall lack of respect and professionalism!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had been a customer for over 15 years. Never again!! read more

I understand that things are a little uptight during this Covid-19 pandemic but he literally closed the shop door in my face Saying "I Can't Help You!". I then called the shop number to figure out why the owner did what he did and he hung up on me. WOW! I had a very simple question to ask him about my tire and he shut me down before I could even speak in person and on the phone. If I could give NO star I would!!! The service was terrible!! I am a frequent customer here and I always pay with my card! The servicer told me after the fact their card machine isn't working. I suggested to go to PNC and come back. He told me to leave my license or my phone. I politely declined... THEN he got upset. He said he would take a picture of my license so I covered my address and he got mad. Why would that upset you?? And my phone is new so I'm not leaving it. I said why don't you ride with me he declined and stated he has so much business! There's no one even here!! I had a great experience here! We ended up coming right before they closed and although it would take a while, the owner himself decided to work on my 2 front tires anyways. We stayed there about an hour AFTER closing and he took his time and made sure everything was perfect before we left. Was referred to The Tire Store in Seabrook, MD by a friend. I was riding around on my donut. Stopped by and Sydney, the owner took a look at my car. He explained that I had an AWD and that I might need 2 tires. That did not surprise me because once before when I had a flat tire, my dealer replaced the 2 front tires. (I'm a road warrior, what can I say). But he explained why. Turns out I only needed 1, but I learned a lot about my car and Syd gave me a fair price. I won't go anywhere else. TLDR: Rude/uncompromising owner, shady business practices - will partially complete a job and force you to figure out the rest I had blown my tire out on the highway and needed to get a replacement. I decided that I would get 4 new tires. I was in the Lanham area and gave this place a try, in case I saw 4 good used tires. After talking with the owner, I decided to buy 4 new. All seemed to be well - so I walked away and let them work on my car. When I came back, only 3 of the tires were on and the owner showed me that I had a damaged rim. He stated that he does not put tires on damaged rims, which is understandable, but he did not have a rim to sell me. That was no problem, and he showed me a website to buy one from, so I did. I asked him when I could come back to get the rim and tire put back on - and it's at this point that things deteriorated. The rim was going to be shipped to me in 3 days. Yet he then told me that he was going out of town for a week, and the whole shop would be closed until August 31st upon his return. This was a bad situation for me because nobody should be riding around on a donut for a week. I had to then pay another shop to put the tire and rim on once the rim arrived. He should have told me before putting the first 3 tires on that he did not have a rim in stock, and he should have also told me from the beginning that he was going out of town for a week and the entire shop closes when he does not work. This isn't the worst part, however. I came back today and asked if he could take the sensor from my old rim and put it on my new rim, since the new rim I purchased (that he advised me to purchase, from a website that he also advised) did not have the sensor. He told me that I would have to pay for this service, which to me was completely unacceptable since it was his absence that required me to get somebody else to put the tire on in the first place. When I balked at this and told him that he should offer to do it free of charge since it was his absence that caused me the inconvenience (and keep in mind that he didn't tell me he was going on vacation until he had finished putting on the other 3 tires), he told me to go somewhere and take the tire off, then put the donut back on, then come back to him and he will put the sensor on. This didn't make sense to me, since this is supposed to be a tire shop and he could do all of this quite easily. When I balked at this offer he told me "You can keep talking. I'm finished talking with you." This is awfully rude. Further, this shop doesn't offer better prices on new tires. He sells the "Hercules" brand, and you can get the same quality elsewhere along with better service. The other tire shops likely will have rims to sell you, too, in case you find yourself in my situation and have a bad rim. Otherwise, he will do part of the job and then tell you to fend for yourself. He should have just told me from the beginning that he was going out of town and could only partially complete the job. I had a terrible tire. It could have popped at any time and bought a new tire with a 2 year warranty and flat tire repair. I always enjoy getting used tires from this store however I bought a new one this time. It is great when your budget is low to shop here because the new and used ties are very affordable. Most affordable I have ever seen. They were very kind and loving. Kingly I would say! Fast service as well. I even had an appt once at work and stopped by to get a fast tire replacement; they stopped everything to get me in and out as fast as possible. Great service! read more
