Elevate are certainly thorough. Physiotherapy is combined with remedial massage (the aforementioned torture) and acupuncture for fast results. I have only been twice now and I feel better already so that's good. Elevate have every type of service your ageing body could need and a no-wait policy so if your appointment starts late you receive 50% off. Beware though, if you cancel an appointment within 24 hours they charge you. Quid pro quo, Clarice. Quid pro quo.

He took the time to listen to my concerns and created a personalised treatment plan that has made a world of difference, as I can now start to move my neck since having a car accident and two bulging discs. Which is important when you are being healed with hurt. I came here with a somewhat debilitating neck complaint, and my pain has been removed. I found Fiona to be very skilled using experience to diagnose me expertly and assess quickly that it was actually my arm muscles restricting my neck movement. After some intense treatment of those muscles my neck is no longer strained and my posture has straightened - I feel great. I can highly recommend Fiona and her team, who are light hearted, but serious about their job. I've had massage, acupuncture and ultrasound treatments and they were all exceptional.

Very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Furthermore, he really listens and treats very effectively. I first came in with an insufferable migraine and Jason fixed me straight away. Donna, who is stationed at the front desk, is very friendly and always happy to help. There is a real sense of community in the practice which is a nice contrast to the more impersonal approach of some physiotherapy practices. All in all, a great local practice and one to go visit and support in our local community.

Here I am, promising that I'll never post health related reviews and doing it again!…read more I'll keep it short. This is a professional, friendly, large sports medicine clinic. They have surgeon specialists (who handle knees and things like that), as well as physios, podiatrists, massage therapists, and pilates instructors. The physio room is very big, and there are private curtain areas as well as a big open space. It's quite a social experience - when you're seeing a physio there are often plenty of other patients around to chat to (because, let's face it, physio exercises are really boring). There's a parking area at the back, although it's really confusing which spaces are for Balmain Sports and which places are for the other businesses in the complex. I was yelled at for parking in the wrong spot, but I lived to tell the tale, so it wasn't so bad.

I've previously had excellent remedial massage from a provider at this clinic (Aaron Pidgeon) but a 90 minute session was somewhat spoilt by issues with payment and the multitude of HICAPS/EFTPOS systems in use at the centre. Initially my health fund card was declined. "You mustn't have those extras", "Maybe there is a problem with the provider " etc, etc. No and No. Then my EFT card was declined - "Perhaps you don't have enough funds in the account" , "Maybe there is something wrong with your card" Nope, plenty of cash there, and the card worked at the servo next door just 2 hours ago. Could it be a problem with the machine you're using, I asked? "Absolutely not, there are no problems with the systems here" was the reply from one of the front desk people, despite a somewhat uncertain look from her colleague. Eventually, the EFT was sorted and all was well, leaving me to wonder what the point of advertising HICAPS as a service was if it didn't work. My health fund (NIB) were great and accepted the claim over the phone no problem. Fast forward several months, and my lovely wife had success in making a late notice, same day appointment for me. After being asked her preference for an early or late slot, she was told "sorry, there is only one appointment after all, a late slot". No problem there as I was happy to get in same day. The receptionist she spoke to then said to call back if there were any problems. Several hours later, things happened as they tend to do and I annoyingly couldn't make the appointment. I called to cancel, and was condescendingly told that given I had provided less than 24 hours notice of a cancellation I was liable for a cancellation fee! WHAT THE? I didn't even have the appointment 6 hours ago, let alone a whole 24! Of course, because it was my 'first cancellation' (offence?) I was allowed off with a stern talking to. My point about my wife not being told of a strict cancellation policy when she initially made the appointment appeared to be entirely moot. As I prefer to keep my health care and my condescension separate, at least when the latter is delivered by the front office staff and not the medicos, I won't be back.
