I was initially very excited about going to Syddinpretty Salon to get a simple Wash Press/Flat Iron and Style, or as her menu refers to it as, a "Silk Press", especially since I was referred by a friend. Unfortunately my hair was anything but silky when I left! It was dry, lifeless and dull, not flat ironed straight, no curls, and no style at all, and by day 2 it had almost completely reverted back to frizz and curl, because it was not conditioned or properly straightened in the first place! Ladies, beware, Syddinpretty's expertise is in Installing and Styling WEAVES, ONLY, and perhaps safely taking them out! Get your real hair done elsewhere! Sure if your hair is really in a bad state when you arrive, anything she does may appear better than when you arrived, but my hair was healthy! Syddinpretty's technique, and lack of experience taking care of "real hair" has yet to be fully developed, in addition she uses GENERIC products yet charges top dollar, leaving the customer with a subpar sub standard outcome, and feeling ripped off! Also be aware of her very dishonest but clever business stunt, where she may try to up sell you on treatments for your hair that you may not even need, by telling you your hair is damaged when it may not be, mine was not. I had split ends which she cut uneven with dull scissors! In my case she insisted I needed a Protein Treatment, which she pushes on her YouTube channel. The problem is that if not rinsed out properly and/or not properly conditioned following the Apogee Protein Treatment, it can leave the hair more dry and dull than before you started! That is what happened to me, but I ended up going to another stylist to find that out, and to get my hair back to shine and bounce, and hydration! When I intitially complained after arriving home and feeling completely disappointed, she told me it would take several more of those treatments to bring my hair back to life! What?! I am a 52 year old woman with plenty of years of personal hair care experience, and healthy unprocessed (no chemicals), soft easy to press, and style hair! I know my own hair, and my hair was not damaged! It was however, EXTRA DRY after her unnecessary "Protein Treatment"! Once Sydney up sells you, you end up spending extra time getting a treatment you may, or may not need, (I suggest going to another reputable and seasoned stylist to find out, before your visit, if you insist on going) and then claiming she has "no time" to properly style you at the end, therefore rushing you out, because she has likely scheduled her next client too close!!! After my phone call from Syddinpretty's assistant several days later, her attempt at good customer service, and I told her the truth, I was still very unhappy! First she offered another free visit to correct the mistake, and then she changed her mind, told me she was not a good match for me, and that she would not be able to satisfy me! I told her she was probably right. She also offered to refund me half of my money, which she did. Syddinpretty has a beautiful Salon, neat, clean, with a nice peaceful environment and she has decent customer service while you are in her chair, but don't let that clock timer run out on you, if she has not properly accounted for whatever "extra" she may have convinced you that you need, or she has to rush to the next client. By the way, I actually came in early for my appointment. At this time, Sydney is still an amateur hair stylist, all about making money, and not about healthy hare care, or styling "real hair"! I say best of luck, but focus on weaved hair, not sistah's real hair, because obviously our hair is delicate and special, and it requires consistent expert care! The good news is she was honest in telling me she would not be able to satisfy my future basic requirements of getting a Wash, Press and Curl, and for that I applaud her! read more
