I had a great visit with Dr. Sycamore. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. Nilo took my x rays and explained the process to me very thoroughly as I was nervous. She was very sweet and patient with me. When Dr. Sycamore came to review the results he took his time and thoroughly investigated to make sure I was given the proper plan for treatment of the pain. He wasn't pushy or trying to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. I really appreciate that they are honest, professional and knowledgeable. I really like the dentist, and my dental hygienist is great. I am only giving them 3 stars because it is extremely difficult to get appointments, and I feel the office staff didn't not genuinely care about my situation. I have been a patient for over four years. Due to ongoing gum issues, I need cleanings every three months to keep them healthy. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my last appointment because of a family emergency. The only appointment I was offered as a replacement was six months later. I asked to be placed on the waitlist, but I was never contacted despite it now being five months later. I called the office multiple times and explained my situation. My gums have been swelling, and I am in pain, yet the staff did not seem concerned or willing to try to accommodate me. I understand that scheduling can be challenging, but the attitude I encountered felt very dismissive, as if my situation did not matter. At no point did anyone say, "Let me see what we can do to help you." For comparison, I called another dental office in Simi Valley. While they initially said they did not have availability, after I explained my situation, the staff member put me on hold and returned to schedule me for an appointment just three days later. read more

My father was an oral surgeon. My best friend was an endodontist. I've had my teeth capped 15 times maybe more. Dr. Sycamore is a nice guy, but he's not a great dentist. I was there for three hours even worse he used a new method for capping teeth, and the cap didn't fit correctly. Even worse than that he denied it was the tooth he worked on. So in addition to being incompetent, he lied. I highly recommend you seeing another dentist. read more

Absolutely the best! I had two crowns done yesterday and I could not be happier with the results! Everyone in the office is wonderful! After Dr. Sycamore made the crowns, he said they may be a little too white and wanted my opinion. I looked and they were just a shade too white and he made two new ones on the spot. No other dentist I have ever been to, would have done that. They would have defended the color and tried to get me to accept them. Not Dr. Sycamore! I'm blown away by Dr Sycamore & his staff! Everybody is friendly & efficient, his office has all the latest equipment & he is the BEST! I had broken a tooth & had to have a cap. He shaped the tooth then took 3D digital pictures. He showed me on the screen how he digitally constructed the crown. Then he took me back & showed me the machine in motion sculpting it. I waited in the waiting room for about a half hour while the kiln fired it. Then he brought me back in & fitted the crown with a few minor adjustments & cemented it in place. The whole thing took 1-1/2 hours! The quality of care shown by everyone in the office is exceptional! I'm only sorry I can give him only 5 stars read more

I have been there too many times to count and this has been my experience every single time. They even opened the office to me in the evening when I had an urgent issue. Dr. Sycamore does quality work that I trust. If the work is beyond their services, like a root canal, he will refer you to a quality specialist. Roland TIrelli 2 reviews NEW Quickly looked at a crack on a molar tooth and said he won't fill it, and it needs a crown. " No charge for the quick look". When I called to make an appointment for the crown, I was told to bring in my insurance card to make sure it was covered which, I did. They then said, I had to pay for the quick look by Dr. Sycamore. I was then told by the assistant, she'll ask the Doctor, if he said no charge? When I called to confirm my appointment for the crown she told me, No Chargé for the quick look by the Doctor but, I am no longer their Patient. After switching my insurance specifically and gave up other benefits, to cover cost of the crown, they reneged on doing the crown at their quoted price or at all. Dr. Sycamore is a very good dentist, technically! The lack of the office managers ability to reasonably understand the insurance coverage, caused the dispute in the first place. It could have been resolved amicably, if his front desk manager handled the insurance matters more efficiently, instead of just not wanting to bother. Nevertheless the responsibility remains that of the head of the practice who authorized the patient dismissal. Professional integrity, was definitely lacking by this office in this situation, especially with an 82 year old senior patient. Very disappointing! read more

First of, you immediately get a good feeling when you walk in the office-the lobby is very clean and have large windows that let the light in. Dr. Sycamore and his staff put the patients and patients' needs first. Dr. Sycamore is very professional, skillful, thorough, courteous, and listens well. He only recommends what is necessary. I have had so many dentists in the past drilled my teeth, gave me crowns, even unnecessary root canals so that they could make money. After all the past negative experiences, it was a huge relief to find Dr. Sycamore's office. His hygienist Melissa is a gem. She is nice, talented, and pleasant. The hygienists, receptionists, and Dr alike are very professional and make me feel so comfortable when the dentist is truly my least favorite place to be due to past experience. My old office was telling me I had 5-12 cavities every time I had X-Rays..... I think they were just money hungry because Dr. Sycamore has told me everything is good each time I've gone and none of my oral hygiene habits had changed. I'm a new patient to Dr. Sycamore. I broke a tooth and HAD to find a dentist. I've had one bad experience after another, since childhood, with dentists. I'm talking BAD experiences. Add that to some anxiety and it is probably my least favorite place to be. But, my daughter recommended him, so I gave him a try. Soo glad I did. I wasn't in any pain, and while they did have time slots to 'squeeze me in' asap, my schedule didn't. Got me in within a week with instructions to call if I was feeling any pain! That first visit was great! Everyone was so nice. No wait time. Dr Sycamore was awesome. Explained to me my options. I was given a printed out treatment plan with an appointment the following week for a crown. I wasn't even nervous going in for my crown! (A first!) I was made very comfortable. While I knew he was injecting the numbing, I felt NOTHING!! Prepped my tooth for a crown- about 40-50 mins. I wasn't paying attention, I was watching TV. I was able to relax for about 45 while he made the permanent crown in another room! Came back in, made sure it was a good fit and cemented it in!! The absolute ONLY discomfort I felt during the entire procedure was the air on the raw tooth. But he quickly added another shot of numbing and I was good! I HIGHLY recommend him if you're looking for a great dentist!! read more

I have been Dr. Sycamore's patient for five years now. I would not go anywhere else. He has the latest modern dental equipment and the office is very clean. Dr. Sycamore is patient and really listens to my dental issues. He is sensitive and handles more embarrassing problems decently. Dr. Sycamore is considerate and values his patients' time. He schedules and estimates his appointments very accurately and his staff always escorts me to the back when I arrive. His office staff has taken the time to call me a week ahead to adjust the time by a mere 15 minutes so I don't have to wait. I don't know any other doctor who takes takes the time to do this!!!! His staff are friendly, helpful and professional. His office staff provides me, in advance, the itemized cost of any procedure, not covered by my insurance. There are no surprises. Dr. Sycamore is very kind and gentle when performing any uncomfortable dentistry procedures and checks with me frequently while he works to ensure that I am relaxed and pain free. He is efficient, has a steady hand, is knowledgeable, detailed, honest, and straightforward about what's going with my teeth. I've always liked Dr. Sycamore's practice, but it is whenever I have had a dental emergency issue, that he has catapulted to star status.
