We reserved a spacious one-bedroom unit with a full kitchen and two balconies offering beautiful ocean views. Our air conditioning worked great, something truly essential in this very hot and humid climate.
A wide variety of water sports equipment, including floats, noodles, kayaks, paddleboards, and more, is available at the beach at no charge. I even tried a sea scooter, a compact underwater Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV). It was a blast zipping through the water like something out of a James Bond movie!
There is waiter service on the beach adjacent to the excellent Sunset Grill restaurant. Full-moon high tides limited the amount of available sand and space for beach chairs during our stay. However, we found the chairs under the trees on the second beach to be an even more enjoyable option, offering more room to spread out and superior ocean views.
The staff was consistently helpful, and the housekeeping team seemed to take genuine pride in their work, cheerfully accommodating our requests. The hotel and grounds were beautifully maintained, including the lovely pool, which offers expansive views of the ocean below.
During our stay, the hotel hosted a complimentary cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres. We had an opportunity to meet the General Manager, who asked us numerous questions about our experience and seemed genuinely interested in the comfort and satisfaction of her guests. A nice personal touch.
We dined at the independently operated hotel restaurant on five occasions and found both the food and service to be excellent. The nicely executed French cuisine rivaled some of the delicious meals we enjoyed along Grand Case's famous restaurant row.
Speaking of restaurant row, it's just a five-minute walk from the hotel and features about a dozen excellent French and Creole restaurants. However, while the walk is short, it's not particularly pleasant. There are no sidewalks, the road is often quite narrow, cars are parked helter-skelter along the roadside, and traffic can be heavy. It's certainly walkable, but you'll want to pay attention to passing vehicles.
I recommend renting a car when staying here, and probably for most locations on the island. Although the roads can be narrow and busy, we found driving relatively easy. There's also a large, well-stocked Super U grocery store and a pharmacy just a few minutes from the Grand Case Beach Club, making it convenient to stock your kitchen with food, beverages, and other essentials.
Overall, the Grand Case Beach Club offers a wonderful combination of beautiful beaches, spacious accommodations, excellent dining, and attentive service. We'd be happy to return!
