Since then, I've been back a few more times because this is just such a great spot to knock out your to-do list! Every Switchyards has a different vibe, and the Berry Hill location is gives retro office space. There's not as much natural light at this location compared to others in town (especially Eastwood), but it's got lots of space to spread out and is rarely busy. There's one club room available to rent, along with four phone booths. As with all SY locations, the coffee and stroopwafels are plentiful. There's a small parking lot attached, and tons of free street parking as well, which feels like a luxury in Nashville these days.

I'm a starving teacher (not literally, but you know, I'm mindful with my money since I'm not rolling in the dough), so the 100 dollar a month membership fee scared me. I live in a tiny apartment with no desk space and a very needy pup so I need some place to do work and going to Starbucks has been getting pricey and too loud. This place checks off all the boxes. There are spaces to work with others but also be left alone. There's tons of coffee and tea (with creamer and sugar!) and water (with lemon), as well as stroopwaffles to keep that blood sugar pumping. To the untrained eye, WELD may seem like a WeWork, but it's so much more. It is slightly more expensive than WeWork for a space, but here are the benefits: 1) A creative community- The people who make up WELD are some of the most creative people in Nashville. You have a famous podcaster, a personality test tech company, a photographer, and so many more people creating beauty out of ashes. It's an inspiring place to be and you can bounce ideas off of these smart minds. 2) Free studio- There's a giant white room that you can use for free if you're a member for photo shoots and/or video shoots. WeWork doesn't offer that! 3) The space- It's beautiful and in an up and coming part of town. They converted shipping containers into office space. 4) Free coffee- It's from CREMA and it's good. Even as WeWork moves into Nashville, WELD is the place to be if you're a creative and need a space to work.

There's a community "kitchen" complete with fridge, microwave, sink, etc. Weld offers an open environment for group work as well as individual spaces. My office used the meeting room for the day to brainstorm and develop a new software plan. Weld was a perfect spot to escape the cubicle and truly inspired us to think outside the box. She even went above and beyond by creating a beautiful family crest for us and arranging to have it displayed on the marquee--a special touch that meant so much to us. On the day of the event, she worked tirelessly to make sure every detail was taken care of.
