We have had to be away from home for the last several weeks, and like so many others have commented, we miss our bed!! I was searching for a simple, natural, healthy mattress, as well as a bed frame. Between my husband and I, we couldn't find a bed we loved. When I stumbled across a mention of Swiss Dream Beds on a forum somewhere, I couldn't believe it - I'd seen this type of mattress system before, but for over 10k! These mattress systems were priced in the same range as a top of the line, latest tech, blah blah blah mattress. Frame: Turns out the owner's father is a carpenter and we sent a picture of a bed we liked with a whole list of specs that we would prefer (there were drawers involved). The whole process was very smooth, Hendrik is amazing at calmly keeping everything clear and concise, and we couldn't believe how beautiful the bed was when it arrived! The craftsmanship is unsurpassed, and there is not a flaw to be found. It fit together beautifully well, with no metal parts, and the drawers are a dream. Mattress system: Let me say first: I LOVE this bed now. The first week or so, my back hurt when I woke up. Hendrik explained that this will happen when you switch from a bad mattress to a good one with better support. Our old mattress really was a bit banana shaped in the middle, and his explanations made sense. Once I'd been sleeping in it for a month, I found that for the first time I could remember, I was sleeping on my back and on my front, and comfortably. I'd always needed to be a side sleeper to get comfortable and this was a game changer. I also started sleeping mostly without a pillow because even a low one would throw my neck out a straight line. When i am on my side, i pull the small pillow back under my head again. But the bed keeps you so aligned, you have no need of a pillow lying on your back or on your stomach. I am so much more comfortable when I sleep now. My husband unfortunately works away from home a lot, so the long term is harder to identify for him - however, he's more rested and comfortable when he's at home than in other beds or our previous one. We started our search in local stores and then moved to an extensive online search in all well-known places. It was very frustrating - the fake variety which, after a bit of research, ends up with the same few options competing themselves in fancy names, marketing terms, new materials, layers and layers of coils, foams and lots of potentially harmful chemicals - everything but a good night sleep. Even if one finds a few that seem to stand out in terms of quality (usually very expensive), the mixed reviews they get makes it hard to part with your money just to try yet another one that ends up disappointing. What happened to the simple traditional bed our grandparents used to have? I don't recall them complaining much about back pain. This is the question that led me to some awesome blogs and forums discussing the topic. One of the comments mentioned Swiss Dream Beds and you can imagine the rest. As soon as I contacted Hendrik and started reading about his business, the doubt started to dissipate. I won't repeat most of the praise shared by all other reviews, I'll just summarize what stood out for us as exceptional: - significant improvement in sleep quality, very good for side sleep - very breathable resulting in constant temperature throughout the night - mattress is soft on one side and firm on the other, king size came in two pieces so you can chose firmness for each side of the bed - wool cover smells amazing and it feels amazing - the pillows are very good as weel, maybe not everybody's preference but definitely worth trying - elegant design and craftsmanship - straight forward transaction and great communication with Hendrik along the way I can talk for hours about it but you get the idea, this is definitely the best bed we ever had. read more

We purchased a king bed about three months ago to replace a popular brand name memory foam bed. I was a little hesitant as i really liked the old one, but we needed to upgrade to a king, and we now understand the toxicity of flame retardant chemicals. My wife found this bed online and contacted Hendrik. At first I was a little hesitant to buy a bed without trying it out, and also about the transaction itself (we live in the states in California). Hendrik contacted us right away after my wife sent a message. He explained the ordering process and also that we could try the bed risk free. Hendrik was very attentive and helpful. After I checked out the bed online, I was really excited to get one. The bed arrived by truck, as scheduled. I think we were the first customers in California! We set up the bed right away...and immediately took a nap! It felt great to lay on, and there were no chemical fumes at all...we are so happy to have a natural material bed at a reasonable, affordable price. The packaging was minimal and the set up was easy. I love that the bed is so simple yet comfortable. No bulky box spring or mattresses to collect dust and mites. We like the design so much I'm pretty sure we would buy whatever else this company builds. We are sleeping great every night. These beds are worth the investment! read more

We bought a king size bed a little over a year ago and love it. My husband who had been having back problems immediately found the bed comfortable and has not had any back trouble since. It took a little longer for me to adjust to the bed but I am happy with it now too. Hendrik the owner was extremely responsive to our questions and concerns. He continually followed up with us to make sure we were happy with the bed and provided exceptional customer service through the whole process. We are located in the US, New York City, and had no problems with delivery of the bed, We were even able to pick the length of a trial period for the bed to be sure we were happy with it before committing. Amazing beds and a fantastic client experience. A friend of ours recommended these beds after doing a lot of research on the best non toxic beds available with the support necessary to help with lower back pain. Hendrik was amazing and I love that this is a family business. They make a fantastic, high quality product and are very responsive. The bed set up is extremely easy. Our 8 year old daughter loves her bed and helped set it up as well. We also purchased on for ourselves and have never slept better. Definitely worth the investment. It is daunting ordering online for a product that you haven't tested and sending $s through score receiving the product but Hendrik runs an amazing business in a much needed area and it passionate about his product. read more

We bought both a twin and a queen bed from Swiss Dream Beds 8 months ago and absolutely love them. They are very comfortable; the foam is slightly softer than our dunlop latex mattress but still firm and I prefer it. I love that the bed frames are Canadian made and because there are no screws or bolts at all and the design they much easier to take apart and move to a different room or different home than other beds and especially other thicker and heavier latex mattresses. They are also somewhat lower than many beds which is great for our kids so they can climb up without a stool and less far for them to hit the floor. It's hard to pick just one thing that I love about this bed so I will pick two. For one, I love that the queen-sized bed has two separate slat systems so that when my husband moves in the middle of the night or gets out of bed, I don't feel a thing. More uninterrupted sleep = more sleep for me! The other thing I love is the recovery I can feel in my back each morning. Working a desk job during the day, I can feel my back getting fatigued by the end of the day. By morning, I feel like I have a brand new back! read more

Best bed ever. Had for over 5 years and have never been disappointed. Have spent a lot of time convelescing due to some illnesses and with all that time I have never felt sore or uncomfortable.
