I always like to check out swimwear since I spend so much time in the pool. My usual problem is finding a one piece suit since my body is past the acceptable age limit for most two piece suits and I try to avoid the fashion police. What I like about this place is that they have a good variety of stylish suits for everyone. Many of them have matching cover-up pants and shirts or beach dresses. The prices are about average to a bit high, depending on the suit. I don't think we saw anything for under $100, but they appeared to be well made. What I don't like, is the customer service was nil. I don't remember anyone even speaking to us when we were there. That's generally something that will keep me from a return visit unless I'm having a swimwear emergency, which isn't likely. read more

Being the exact opposite of "petite", I always have a hard time finding swimsuits. Usually I have the best luck with atrocious $15 suits from the big box stores, but then they dissolve in August or September and I'm stuck at the end of the season with zero options. Hopes were a little higher now that I'm in the land of endless summer, and this was my second stop on the search... with astounding success. I actually found a suit that is well made, fits, and doesn't look like a baggy hotel curtain on me. Not cheap, but for the brand, exactly what I expected. read more

Sis and I were here looking for coverups for our suits. We had already been in another store in the same area and noted the prices. When you are in a resort town, buying resort gear you will just pay more, that is the rule. We were able to find two cute coverups, and Sis got a hat as well. The older ladies who waited on us were attentive, making suggestions that were helpful. read more

Went in here looking for options for beachwear. They have great looking bathing suits and some accessories. Prices are not that low but not up there either. The store is ok, nothing to cheer about but, the lady taking care of it, sorry I forgot her name, had no energy what so ever. I asked her if she had a dress I was trying on in a different color in my size and she just said "no" but one of those "no's" that tells you "can't you see I don't really care?"....w/e.....the store is ok, like I said, great bathing suits but not worth the driving to. read more

An exceptional selection of bathing suits and accessories. Like everyone else I know, I hate shopping for bathing suits. But at Swimland, the salespeople were so knowledgable and helpful that it made a usually dreadful experience bearable, and dare I even say it, enjoyable. I would highly recommend this shop to women of all ages. read more

Hey! I just wanted to say that I recently had some dealings with the owner of these (there are several) stores, and he seems like a great guy. I saw where they closed one of the stores, but there are several, so don't be confused by one of the sites that says the store is closed. They are also in the process of building www.swimland.com website, though I don't know what it will be like, so use google, or another search to look for the other stores if the phone number of this one is disconnected (try it, and the others). This was the last day of our vacation including Key West. We went in many boutiques and were greeted by friendly sales associates. Upon entering Swimland, we gave a friendly hello, with not so much as a grunt to acknowledge our presence. Upon looking around, the suits were nice and prices comparable to other stores, but it doesn't even matter. After spending 5-7 minutes doing a walk through with no acknowledgement we headed for the door. When saying "thank you" our group of ladies still had not so much as a grunt. Why are you in retail if you refuse to speak to customers? Don't even waste your time with this place. read more

When I first moved to Ft. Lauderdale 3 years ago, I got a sales position at Swimland. Even though my work history in retail sales, the hotel industry, including front desk manager in charge of the accounting for a 1000 room hotel, concierge, international sales for a division of Johnson and Johnson, to some, that would represent I was capable of a part time job at Swimland. After three weeks of mind boggling micro-management, it became clear to me that no matter how nice and courteous I was to the customers, I would never beable to sell or ring up a sale to the satisfaction of the staff. In there defense, all of had been empolyed there for more then 15 years and had a certain way of doing things. I gave my resignation with kind words and a simple "I don't think I'm right for the job" and left. I still shopped there, and I often would stop in just to chat with the ladies, keeping things cordial. I accepted a part time job at the children's store down the street and I've worked there for the past 3 years. Two weeks ago, I purchased two pairs of sandals. Cynthia kindly gave me the "locals" discount of 10%. One pair came apart after just a couple of wearings. I figured, I used to work there, they all know me, surely they won't make me dig up the receipt out of the recyclables. I'd just like to replace them. I explained the situation to the owner Shelly. She asked for the receipt. I told her I'd hoped she wouldn't require me to go through the trash. I told her Cynthia gave me 10% off the sale. She said If I didn't come forth with the receipt, she'd have to assume I purchased them for 20% off. Okay..., she asked if I paid cash or credit. I did'nt recall. She furiously tried to find the transaction and finally said she wouldn't do it without the receipt. I came home and searched my recyleables to know avail. Then I checked my credit card statement, it wasn't there. I guess I paid cash. So I'm out of luck. Your greediness is of awesome proportions Shelly. the worst store I have ever done business with. They were rude and threatening. I bought a bathing suit that got pulls in it within 10 minutes of lying on a towel in it- they said the material was fragile- well how about telling someone that before you buy it. They certainly do not stand behind their products- My advice- buy elsewhere read more
