Since I have lived in the Los Angeles, CA, area for almost 10 years but have family members back in…read moremy home state of WV, I have utilized Art's Flower & Gift Shop online and over the phone to ensure any flower arrangement orders I have chosen could be made on short notice, whether it has been for Mother's Day, birthdays, get-well, or other occasions. The various staff members that I have spoken to on the phone have always been very kind and straight forward with me regarding which flowers are in season, whether or not they have certain flowers in stock due to high demand or if they would be able to deliver last minute orders on time. They have come through for me every single time. They were even willing to make a special arrangement that was not shown on any of the main floral websites because a relative of mine was sick and I knew she loved specific flowers but none of the arrangements shown online offered all of those flowers together. So the staff member and/or florist made a special order for me once I explained how and why I wanted a specific arrangement. They were very professional, kind, courteous, understanding and accommodating. They also didn't charge extra for the special arrangement I requested. Once the flowers were delivered, I was able to see the arrangement when my family member sent me a photo. I was so happy that they made sure to make and deliver my order just as I requested. My family member loved that all of her favorite flowers were arranged together in such a beautiful way. There has only been one time when the flowers I ordered were accidentally delivered to another customer. But it was Mother's Day and I could understand how a mistake could have been made when there were probably hundreds of other orders to be delivered. As soon as my relative sent me a photo of what was delivered to her and I recognized that what she received was not what I had ordered, I called the store and informed them of the mistake but I also let them know that I understood how busy they were and mistakes could be made. They were very professional and immediately apologized, remade what I had ordered and still had it delivered on time to my family member. Rhonda's recently prepared a beautiful floral arrangement that was sent to my mother-in-law's funeral. Her work was lovely, though if that had been the beginning and end of my experience with this shop, I probably wouldn't have written a review. Just not in the reviewing mood these days, I guess. While the flowers were beautifully arranged and of excellent quality, that's not uncommon. But the customer service that I got from this shop was nothing short of amazing. I wanted to send a thank-you note to the relatives who sent the flowers but, having never met them, I had no contact information. I contacted the flower shop which, in bygone days, would have had all the information I needed. I asked Donna if she had the mailing address for this relative but she couldn't find the order. She went on a hunt for it that lasted several days and wound up involving the owner of the shop as well. Other florists that I'd made similar requests of basically blew me off with a "we don't have it" but not Donna and Rhonda. They considered it part of their customer service, both to the purchaser and the recipient. They kept me apprised of their progress via several phone calls and, eventually, the got me the information I needed. Now this may sound like a small thing, but anyone who has been in the position of mourning a close relative will agree that a kindness done at that particular time carries an incredible amount of weight. During our conversations I came to understand their customer service philosophy. This is the only florist I've ever heard of that has a private family space for those ordering funeral arrangements. It has privacy, comfortable furniture and a phone in case family members need to be called. They provide not just flowers here but care, and it's care that's heartfelt. Both these women have suffered tremendous loss and they are determined to be there for their customers. I can't recommend Rhonda's heartily enough. These women will care for you whether you encounter them for a joyous or sad occasion.
