My regular MD prescribed a topical cream that helped with the flare-ups, flaking, and scaling, though it didn't eliminate or reduce the redness. I was content with the results until I lost the cream during a vacation. When I returned, my face was extremely itchy and almost purple. My doctor prescribed the cream again, and I was ready to fix the issue. Around the same time, my kids needed to see a dermatologist for their warts, which is how I discovered The Derm Bar. When Britney was helping my kids, she noticed my face and immediately wanted to help. She asked about my current treatment, not in a pushy way, but out of genuine concern. It turned out that the cream my doctor prescribed was a steroid, which had long-term repercussions and had caused my face to become dependent on it, hence the flare up when I lost it. Britney advised me to wean off the steroid and scheduled an appointment for me. She put me on a regimen of morning and evening creams and some medications to restore my skin's health. After a few weeks, my skin had significantly improved with just the creams--no more flakiness, itchiness, scaling, or burning. Britney also recommended a laser treatment, which has noticeably reduced the redness. The red nodules near my nostrils disappeared with just one zap. I'll be posting some pictures to show my progress. I can't express how wonderful my experience has been. The office and staff are incredibly friendly and great. The first person that helped me said she "thinks" it cant be done on the first appointment. I asked her to consult with a supervisor for accuracy, this would be the primary concern (I go somewhere else for routine facials). She passed the phone to another person, that person said I would have to do a facial and the "neck and chest" would be an "add-on" service (the facial was required). She shared there currently was a promotion for the first laser facial at $50, which I thought was great. She advised to book online and said I could also do it through yelp, just let us know when you're here that you want to add the neck and chest. I scheduled my laser facial. I drove from Riverside to Rancho, I arrived about 13 mins early (I was advised to be there 10 mins prior). When I checked in, I explained I was there for a laser facial and wanted to add the neck and chest laser treatment. I clarified my primary concern was the hyperpigmentation on my neck. She said I couldnt do the neck and chest during my first appointment- that I first had to do the facial only... and I would have to book a second facial, that time I could add the neck and chest. I explained to her what I was advised over the phone a few days ago when I called. She agreed to look into it some more, I waited for her to read some material on her screen. And then she tells me that I in fact can add the neck and chest during the first facial, but not today. They would need an additional 15 minutes for the neck and chest so it couldnt be done today during my laser facial appointment (it was still early afternoon and they close at 7pm). So we couldnt proceed if I wanted the neck and chest. This is beyond disappointing, I was really looking forward to the entire experience. Ive heard great things about Skin Laundry and Im into skin care. I even thought, they might win me over and I will end up being a regular customer... but no, this was a major inconvenience! Very inconsiderate of one's time and effort. And for the staff to not be certain of their services! Highly doubt this happens in the Newport Beach location! I wanted to love this place but totally the customer service I expected. And enough for me to NOT return. Probably saving myself from some bs anyway.
