I feel like I was scammed. I asked the two people standing behind the counter if they make the fudge themselves, they say yes. I asked how much for a square of fudge, the woman says they weigh it, but that if I just wanted one it would be "quarters" because it would be so light. I only asked anted one square though, so I ask for the biggest square of the peanut butter chocolate. Her and the guy start whispering, the guy rings it up for $5.69... certainly not "quarters". Hear me: I have no problem paying for fudge for $5 a square if it's too little of a quantity. But how dare you LIE and whisper. Doesn't matter how the fudge tastes if that is the last thing your customer will remember. Will never return. read more

Came here solely for the fudge! Although there are many options, I ordered chocolate and chocolate vanilla swirl. The fudge is gone and boy did my entire family enjoy it! This place was an absolute dream when I was a kid. So nostalgic! Can get stuffy and cramped in here, my parents had to wait outside for me. The man who checked me out seemed nice. I'll probably stop here again for some taffy before I go back home! If you want fudge, go here, it's absolutely amazing. read more

Very rude service, as if they could care less about being there. What really confused me was them asking for ID from me specifically... I'm buying candy not alcohol! It felt as if they were profiling me or assuming I'd just steal. I did not see them ask others for ID. Very unwelcoming, especially for someone on vacation. Initially walking in my children kept saying "its stinky in here". It sure was. The man working there was insanely rude. Looked like he absolutely hated his life and acted miserable. Upon shopping I let my two kids (3 and 5) get what they wanted. They loaded up my stroller with goodies. After all them being happy was what mattered. I didn't want to leave out my one year old at home so I got her a thing of candy and my 5 year got her a dum dum pop. Upon paying, the miserable man wanted 3 forms of id. I wanted to walk out right then but the kids would've been sad. It was bizarre! So when I called my husband at home to send me a picture of yet another form of id he was on speaker and made a comment about the man (making me show him so many forms of id) being a creepy loser (which he had over heard) I tried to chuckle it off but he didn't look amused. After paying $78 for my kids candy I got them in the double stroller and walked out! struggling to get the door open and push the stroller. But Don't worry this man did not offer any assistance. I left the smelly candy store grateful to be done with that experience. Little did I know it was far from over. We were sitting at Annie Ann's pretzels eating right across the street and I see him coming across the road. I thought oh no what did I forget. He starts yelling at me saying "you're going to pay for that stolen merchandise or I'm having you arrested" I was baffled confused thought he had the wrong person. I said "what? Me?" I grabbed the two separate bags with my kids candy and said here what didn't I pay for sir? He said "I saw the lollipop that you put in your stroller." It dawned on my the pop my 5 year handed me for my one year old at home. Yes we are talking about a dum dum pop. A red cherry one to be exact I will never forget it!! I was like omg I didn't even realize (it had fallen in between the visor of my stroller) here you go sir honest mistake. He stormed off refused to take the pop and said I'm pressing charges. I was like this can't be real. I went back across the street with my kids in the stroller and into the store I said look sir here's the pop I'll leave it here and I'll be across the street to talk to the police when they come. He then threatened me and screamed at my 5 year old. My son kept saying "why is that mean man yelling at us." I was immediately regretting going back in there. I mean what is even happening over the cheapest thing you can get.. is this real life. I just spent $78 in here!!! He told me I'm not leaving and then said if I don't pay him $50 for the pop he won't allow me to leave. I said you have the "merchandise" (can we really even call the pop merchandise) and I'm leaving. This nut went crazy on the phone with someone who didn't sound at all like the police. I picked up my phone to call 911. It was dead. I said here you go charge my card $50 I want to get out of here immediately. I asked for the receipt for the random $50 he was extorting from me and turned around to get the heck out of there. As I was already out the door I said I will be refusing that charge and contacting the better business bureau. I am so bothered someone could be so evil and unpleasant to a woman alone with her two children. I feel violated in so many ways and if this man is the owner he should be shut down and prosecuted! I am in the process of taking further action to prevent anything like this from happening to anyone else and from my research this store is know for being scammers and stealing from people. When I got home I added up my items that were $78 and I indeed was overcharged for that as well. Do not give this candy store your business. When you walk in and the smell hits your nose remember this story and turn around and walk out. You do not want to encounter the nut job I did!! read more

Very disappointed with the Sweet Tooth this year. I have been buying my fudge there every year for over 30 years while on vacation. Bought it Thursday night to bring home as a gift and also some for myself. When I opened the box on Saturday the fudge was just thrown in the box without any paper wrapping or anything. The clerk charged me $3000 instead of $30. I knew something was wrong when she gasped, but she didn't say a word to me; and her manager, looking over her shoulder, didn't either. I signed the cc receipt for $30 and left, wondering what had happened to make her gasp... Then at 9:30 pm that night, I got the alert from my bank that I'd spent three grand in a candy shop. After PANICKING AND MAKING AFTER HOURS PHONE CALLS FROM MY CAMP SITE which is really ideal, you know, when you're camping at Lake George, I discovered the charge had been reversed already. So I was charged, and credited, $3000 by a clerk under management supervision, neither of whom said a WORD to me, and let me walk out of there totally unsuspecting. OMG we went into this store after our beyond disappointing experience at SJ Garcia's and it was the saving grace for our evening. We bought a ton of different taffy flavors and fudge as well as lollipops. We spent $21 on junk food, I am not even kidding. The fudge we got (choc PB and a raspberry choc kid) wasn't amazing or worth the extreme calories I know fudge contains. The taffy was as sweet as you would expect and didn't entirely reflect the flavors we expected. Cotton candy? No way. My husband and I strongly recommend The Sweet Tooth for tasty candy, reasonable prices, and outstanding service! We had a fall themed wedding in Lake George and we thought it would be cute to have caramel apples covered in fall colored M+Ms. The staff went way above and beyond for us. They came in after the store had officially closed for the season just to make our order fresh. Steve from The Sweet Tooth went through and picked out all the red, yellow, and orange M+Ms for us. Holy smokes this store has FANTASTIC fudge. My family and I got vanilla, maple walnut, and chocolate/peanut butter. Each one tastes amazing. I thought that I'd had good fudge in the past, but no other places compare. It's so smooth and creamy (not crumbly at all!), not sickeningly sweet, flavored perfectly, absolutely addictive, and very reasonably priced!
