We make sure to stop at Candy Apple everyone we visit the Lake George area. We are obsessed with their cotton candy hard ice cream on a waffle cone. I also tried the caramel apple this time and it was delicious! I always cut my caramel apples so I did ask for a knife and a cup. Well worth it ! Must've if you are in the area. The shop is cute with lots of other candy and ice cream options and the customer service is fast and courteous. They have some tables and chairs outside to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. read more

I go for the ice cream! The candy apples and sweets are expensive, but good. The staff are always nice. I like that you can sit on one of the wooden lawn chairs to watch the big boats sail out . read more

The Candy Apple was a neat find...but I must give 1 warning. They have a variety of beautiful candy apples to purchase and my kids enjoyed them. I purchased some truffles and chocolates as well, which were all delicious. Prices for everything were fair and service quick. They also serve ice cream, which we didn't try. Be warned though, there's a cashier here who was adding 15% gratuity when customers purchased with credit cards. As a customer, you present your card, cashier inserts into the machine, then turns the machine around to you for signature. At this point, you'll see that the 15% gratuity button was tapped. This happened more than once and is rather sneaky. read more

I have to agree with Jerry P's review (somewhat) -- Candy Apple is "the Jack of all trades, Master of None". Everything we had here was alright, but nothing really stood out for me. My wife did like her Old Fashion Candy Apple. Staff was friendly also. On a positive note, they always seemed open when other ice cream shops in the area were closed. read more

This spot is located right along the lake, perfect for grabbing a quick sweet treat. I saw it when I drove past the lake the first time and I knew I had to stop. The employees were all super friendly. They also have a good amount to choose from. I got two 1/4lbs of fudge. One rocky road and one raspberry chocolate. Both were great. The raspberry chocolate was my favorite, super fresh too. I also picked up some chocolate. They have a nice selection of treats, I ended up getting a huge pecan cluster with caramel and thick milk chocolate, a chocolate covered smores and a huge peanut butter cup. Everything was super fresh and tasty. The pecan cluster was my favorite. They also offer ice cream and popcorn. Some bags of candy were also for sale. Definitely a great spot to get dessert after a long day at the lake. read more

Tucked into the strip of stores located across from the Lake George Visitor's Center, the Candy Apple is an establishment that offers a variety of dessert products. Unfortunately, this generic approach had made them a jack of all trades, master of none store. They offered numerous candy selections, fudge, candy apples, popcorn and ice cream when we visited. We opted for a namesake candy apple, a scoop of ice cream and a small bag of candy from the self serve selection. All of it was not good. The candy coating on the apple was thin and spotty, the candy seemed stale (especially the candy lego pieces), and the chocolate ice cream was clearly freezer burned. There are far too many places selling much higher quality versions of what the Candy Apple does to make visiting here worthwhile. At least the two young girls working that night were friendly, so an extra star for that. read more

It's a small little shop serving all kinds of handmade candies from chocolate to ice cream and of course, the candy apple "hint the name" :) Prices are very reasonable, if this place was in NYC the scoop would cost much more lol The owner was very friendly, I was able to take lots of pics around the place. By the way, the location of the shop is also a plus, you take your sweet candy and just cross the street and you'll have the most beautiful scenery to enjoy while enjoying the dessert! Please check all the pics I took, I forgot to take a photo of my ice cream ( it was chocolate flavor with choco pieces that added a crunch, sooo good!) but those chocolate displayed looked so yummy, was planning to come back after lunch couldn't find time later that day :( read more

Odd name for an ice cream place, but they also have candy so I guess it makes sense. Easily found along the strip of tourist shops near the lake, just a stone's throw up from the horse buggy rides. I got Cherry Vanilla, and it was packed with cherries. They also feature sugar-free and low-fat varieties. read more

Very wide selection of candy and chocolates to choose from, all of which are of the highest quality. The ice cream is also fantastic. In spite of the name, there is actually a very limited selection of candy apples (caramel, candy, and fudge only). Still a nice stop to make while walking around downtown. read more

Surprised this place doesn't have as many reviews. Candies like fudge and truffles are available, alas, I've only salivated at them. Ice cream is Hershey's, and fabulous. This is fortunately my area of expertise. Banana pudding is interesting. If you like moose tracks, though, you're in luck. There's three different versions: chocolate, mint, and original vanilla. My new favorite is roadrunner raspberry: white chocolate ice cream with swirls of raspberry jam and chocolate fudge. read more

If I could I would rate this place a -100 the workers there are absolutely disgusting there was a woman that was tan and won that was white this was at 8:40 pm Friday August 24th 2018. So my friend and I walked in this shop and bought a caramel apple and a candy apple my friend ate the candy apple and she saw the apple was dark brown and my friend absolutely disgusting so she threw it out i told her not to throw it out but she did anyways then I went and I told the white female about the apple and she said where is it then I went and grabbed the apple out of the trash and showed her it she went and called her manager "the tan female" she told me there's nothing wrong with it and she even brought a nife and wax paper and cut the apple to try to prove to us that there's nothing wrong with apple so we kept telling her we want our money back and she said we don't give refunds then i said we're not leaving until we get our money back finally she gave us the money after her going threw 6 receipts of her making sure she we don't steal $3.95 any ways don't ever go to this place unless you want and apple the color of poop read more
