Very disappointed with how we were treated by the manager…read more Our dogs have been groomed here several times in the past, and we had always planned to continue using this business. Yesterday morning I called to schedule grooming appointments for our dogs. My first call went to a message stating they were either experiencing a high call volume or were closed. I called back 3 more times over the next couple of minutes, but no one answered. I had 2 meeting coming up and would not be available if I left a message After waiting about 10 minutes, I called again and someone answered. I heard "Hello" and that the call was being recorded. I asked if there were any grooming appointments available next week. The manager immediately responded by asking if I was the person who had just called multiple times. I said yes, and before I had a chance to explain that I was simply trying to get through to schedule an appointment, he told me that calling repeatedly was rude and that I would not be receiving any services from them. He then hung up on me. I was surprised by the response and attempted to call back twice to clarify that I was not trying to be rude, but my calls were not answered. Later, my wife called and spoke with the same manager. He stated that he was with a customer and that I should have known that repeatedly calling was rude. I had assumed this was a business line with multiple lines, but we later learned it is actually a cell phone, and I assume he doesn't know that you can silence them. My wife asked to have the owner contact her to discuss the situation, but more than a day later we have still not received a response. Based on this experience and the way the situation was handled, we will not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend this business to others.

He is high anxiety and a little aggressive but the owners said it wouldn't be a problem at all and they took him with open arms! After we dropped them off, they spent time bonding with him and playing his favorite game, fetch. They took him for daily walks and played with him. They also sent us pictures and updates. I couldn't be more than happy! When we came to pick up our dog, he was happy to see us but now that he's home, I think he wants to go back! Overall, the owners were wonderful and sweet and took all of our concerns with our dog seriously. They went above and beyond to not only make us feel comfortable but our dog as well! I highly recommend them and plan to use them in the future!

I could not do that to this beautiful animal. We had been turned away from another facility when the Pet Lodge in Lyman recommended USDT&B. I called, they said "bring her on in". They welcomed her with open arms. Such a Godsend. We have only just begun her stay at this beautiful facility, and have already begun getting her report cards. I am so grateful and feel quite confident that we will be able to keep her in our home upon her "graduation "! Thank you, USDT&B! PS- I had taken her to the vet and she had received all shots before arriving at USDT&B.

I have been a loyal client since when they small. And when the aunt was still alive. Since her passing apparently it's gone to crap. If you are worried about a 16yo dog maybe being too much you should reconsider being a groomer and at least make sure to put a muzzle on every dog. I am very disappointed in the grooming service here. My poor baby is traumatized from the experience. They did me so wrong it's not even funny. The groomer was obviously aggressive with dog and not patience at all is why she couldn't finish. I've heard horror stories about this place but always defended them. Nope not anymore, Very poor service!!! THE END....period

I recently adopted a rescue dog who was in a bad hoarding situation and he was terrified of…read moreabsolutely everything and had lots of issues. I had him for four VERY LONG weeks. Things were awful. I was miserable, frankly depressed, and felt like I'd made one of the biggest mistakes of my life adopting Fred. I love dogs, and thought long and hard before adopting one. Despite that, it took all I had to not send him back...something I never thought I'd consider. Three weeks in I was at my wit's end and literally about to text the foster mom who had Fred before me, just minutes before my free consultation with Tara at The Dog Wizard. Tara talked me off a ledge and told me she's dealt with extremely difficult cases like Fred before - one in particular who is now thriving today. So I gave her a chance and enrolled him in the 3 week program. She offered to keep him longer if needed without additional charge if she felt he needed it. You could tell she wanted to help him (and me) and cares deeply about the dogs she works with. Long story short, Fred spent 6 weeks there (just to show you how much help he needed)! I got Fred back today and I am absolutely shocked at the change in him. I don't want this post to get too long, but he doesn't constantly shake anymore, he'll go up to strangers and act comfortable around them, he's less anxious around other dogs, he knows and follows commands, he doesn't dart away from me all the time, and just seems so much more comfortable, confident, and relaxed overall. I honestly was prepared to still take him back to the rescue, that's how bad things were (I felt very hopeless). Not only do I not see that happening now, but I see hope for lots of bonding in our future. And Tara offers ongoing support after training - group classes, continued training, etc. I can't say enough good things about Tara and her staff at The Dog Wizard! If you're hesitating, don't! I promise you it's worth every penny. The picture is Fred resting his head on my belly tonight. Before The Dog Wizard he'd be hiding in another room by now if I even shifted an inch, and probably would be shaking. You can see he is the opposite of that here

I felt so at ease knowing my two dog babies were well cared for during the 14 day Board & Train. I received a very detailed and thorough check-in call every 3 days while they were gone. They posted photos daily - so I never felt out of touch as to what was going on. At the end of our 14 days, we had a one on one training that has prepared me to continue growing my dog's new skills. I feel so confident moving forward taking both dogs out for long walks and to social gatherings. I look forward to many more group training sessions and hangs with the team. Definitely get your pups registered here!
