I'm so grateful they've been so accommodating to my kitties injuries and illness. I've also been in the position where I don't need Upstate vet (which is great but excruciatingly expensive) but my pets needs a higher level of care than the regular veterinary. Ambassador has filled that gap which has been really hard to find.

We left our baby to board while we were out of town. Rebecca contacted me on her first full day of boarding to let me know that my "baby" had not eaten dinner or breakfast, and that she had been vomiting. She fed her chicken & rice, that she made to soothe my girl's tummy. Unfortunately her issues got worse, and she developed diarrhea. Rebecca took her to our vet for a consultation. Thank goodness she did. My girl had HGE, a gastrointestinal disorder, which left untreated, can result in death. This is NOT contagious, and was not acquired at boarding. After 2 days of hospitalization with IV fluids, Rebecca picked my girl up from the vets, and followed the care instructions they provided her. We are thankfully home with our "baby" girl, who is doing great! I can't begin to thank Rebecca enough. 5 stars are not enough for this facility!

They're excellent at explaining the realities of difficult situations and are always kind and gentle with the animals. Unfortunately we had to euthanize one of our beloved aging animals and the entire hillcrest team did an amazing job. They were compassionate and gentle. I do not think his passing could have been any more peaceful. Dr Bailey has truly the most kind and gentle bedside manner. We are truly grateful for the care we have received.

Hillcrest AH needs to go back to being a privately-owned practice where pet care is…read morepatient-focused; back to the days where they excelled at customer service and where they invested in the greater pet community. Fees continue to escalate while care is increasingly turfed to more and more "specialists", further making pet care just about unaffordable. Several of the staff talk behind clients' backs, and Dr. Gilstrap doesn't hesitate to verbally berate clients if she feels they're asking too many questions or she doesn't like their honest feedback. When Dr. Meyer owned this practice, she was very supportive of clients using nutraceuticals, along with many alternative therapies and modalities for care. That is no longer the case under current ownership. Nothing outside of the strict boundaries in standard of care is open to or welcome for discussion at Hillcrest AH. You may even receive an angry phone call from Dr. Gilstrap if she finds out you've said anything regarding such limitations. Over the course of our 10+ yrs taking our pets to Hillcrest AH, we were also disappointed on multiple occasions with their lack of knowledge regarding eye issues, in both cats and dogs. They also missed a few other things over the years, which I had originally been willing to forgive, until there became a series of other issues that eventually forced me to leave this once-great practice. I missed Dr. Bailey tremendously, but am happy to report that Dr. Bailey can now be found at Lyman AH.

I not only left a message and five days later still have not received a return call. To add insult I physically visited the facility to pick up scripts and told them I was waiting for a call back and was ignored. It took 3 days to get my dogs records. Last annual checkup with my dog the technician wanted to draw blood from my dogs neck. She said he was 7 so they wanted to draw from the neck. My dog could not have sat calmer and the technician try twice before I had her get someone else. The second person was successful on the first try. The original technician told me it was difficult because my dog had too much fur? My dog has as much fur as a golden retriever. We were a client for the past 3 1/2 years but have decided it's best to move on. Good luck to anyone who chooses to use them
