I was traveling to Paris in September 2017 and I had reserved a room for 5 nights at Sweet Hotel. I went to the hotel at 10:00 pm after my flight had landed in Paris and I learn that they had given my room to another guest. The receptionist said that this has never happened before and that she was sorry but could not help me. I asked to speak to a manager, she said that there wasn't anyone available and that she could not get a hold of them. I was shocked that I was not given a room to stay in and most importantly that there was no proactive solution. I have traveled to other continuities and have stayed in simple hotels before so I know what to expect. I did not expect this. For Sweet Hotel to turn a customer away and mess up the reservation was disappointing and more importantly unsafe for me (being female).
I understand that Sweet Hotel is a simple hotel, but I did think in that I this would happen. The receptionist recommended another hotel for me but it all seemed fishy and unprofessional.
