When we were scouting it out she helped me think through the best place to propose not only for photography purposes, but also for timing. I modified my original plan based on this and am really glad I did. She definitely knows what she's doing here. I told her ahead of time that my fiance wasn't very photogenic and she gave us tips throughout our sessions to help with our facial expressions, and our pictures turned out great. I also had ideas for specific pictures and shared my thoughts with Lauren and she was able to combine her skills and my vision beautifully. I did a lot of research on choosing a local photographer (i.e. in Mexico) versus taking a photographer to your wedding, and I would recommend taking your photographer because we felt more comfortable and were able to develop a relationship with Lauren after a great experience during our engagement pictures. Plus, Lauren has destination wedding experience and our photos turned out amazing! She was clearly knowledgeable about differences in indoor/outdoor lighting and everything else that you have to think about related to destination weddings. Long Version; Our original photographer had complications and canceled on us less than 4 weeks away from the wedding date, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find someone in time. Luckily, I found Nadine from a Yelp search and contacted her right away from all the awesome reviews... I was not disappointed, not only was she available for the day we needed her, but she worked within my very limited budget and made sure she knew exactly what I was looking for. Just about everything that could go wrong, did as far as my wedding was concerned - it was originally supposed to be outdoors at Zilker Park, but of course it rained ALL WEEK and the site was completely flooded and muddy so with just 48 hours left before the wedding day we had to move our location to a friend's home nearly 40 miles away from Zilker. Nadine didn't complain or charge us anything extra to move to a new location, she just showed up and gave us an amazing experience. In just two hours, she was able to capture well over 200 pictures that truly captured the emotions and atmosphere of the wedding. Once we were done, she let us know the final pictures would be ready in 6 to 8 weeks and though I don't know if that's very long or short for turnaround, it was 100% worth the wait - these images are absolutely stunning!
