Husband and I are down vacationing on the beach and with one of our granddaughters on her way to visit, it was imperative the Papa found the right ice cream place. He did!! He got two scoops of the Carmel Cheesecake Cookie Monster. I believe his exact words were -- I am in love, I could bath in this ice cream. If it's the only ice cream I have to ever eat, I would be a very lucky man. I had a scoop of the coconut chocolate almond. Where I did not have an out of body experience as my husband, it was great. His was pretty tasty too. The two girls behind the counter were not very happy. It wasn't as though they were busy at the time. We were the only ones in line. They could have smiled or at least been a little less robotic. Prices are definitely beach prices. The place was adorable with its pinstripe walls. Plus the candy available for bagging!!! Sooo amazing. I am so glad I wasn't hungry when I went in. I probably would have bought a few different types of candies too! read more

So we went into this place and we each got a waffle cone with three scoops yes three scoops. We just really want a lot of ice cream so you know we got the three scoops in the waffle cone when I went to check out. I didn't have my glasses on and I said there's no way that says $32 for two cones. After I got in the car sure enough it was $32 and something for just two waffle cones with three scoops. We won't go here again because we really don't think we should be paying $32 for ice cream was the ice cream good yeah it was good. Was it great no. Would I go here again if there was nothing else opened, I would and only get one scoop and be very frugal because the prices were outstandingly bad. read more

Who doesn't love local ice cream and some of the best in town was at Sweet cone Alabama. With so many flavors to choose from including a no sugar added flavor of butter pecan. Prices are much more reasonable for locally made ice cream than what you'll find in the busy tourist strips. The place was packed but the line moved fast. Arrived at 7:30 PM during spring break, despite the daunting line, we were served within 8 minutes. We are talking Chick-Fil-A level efficiency, impressive. Their ice cream is THAT good btw. Being allergic to chocolate I have found that a lot of ice cream places put a lot of emphasis on chocolate flavors and create non-chocolate flavors out of necessity and therefore lack creativity, not this shop. They had such a great selection, literally something for everyone. The marshmallow swirl flavor was heaven. Coming from Coney Island I'm judging this ice cream and it is lacking. Nothing special no Shakes or drinks .

The best ice cream on the beach (we tried 5 places and this was by far our favorite). A large selection of pay by the pound candy tempts you as you stand In line to wait to get ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose from. Cups, plain or sugar cones. Waffle cones only early in the day before they get swamped with people. Try the Key Lime....complete with chunks of frame cracker crust....or the Georgia peach with chunks of peaches. Every flavor is creamy and no icy feel. Open early to late.
