There were 3 teenagers working. I was impressed because their work ethic and attitudes were great. They were quick, knowledgeable, and hard-working. So I am pretty much an ice cream connoisseur, if I do say so myself. Every time we come to Gulf Shores, we always hit up Matt's Ice Cream... It is pretty amazing! However, through some research lately, we decided to give this new place a try. If you blindfolded me, handed me the ice cream, and I tasted it, I would be so impressed... I got mint chocolate chip, and it was very good, while my husband got a chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake and really enjoyed it. BUTTTTT... If you let me taste the ice cream while looking at the prices, there's no way I would tell you it was worth it. For 1 shake, and 1 scoop of ice cream in a cup, it cost us almost $18 with tax. We probably will head back down the road, unless they decide to start giving "teacher discounts." read more

Half the time when places say the ice cream is homemade...it's not, lol. But I think Del's might be the real deal! Whatever the case, we enjoyed it enough to visit twice on our beach visit -- and that's high praise, considering I always wanna try as many different places as possible while on vacation. Tucked at the end of a large shopping center, Del's provided the treat we needed to round out our dining experiences for the day. One night I came alone but got carryout for my sister in law, husband, and brother in law; another night, we brought the WHOLE family (9 people total). The same employee was there both nights and she handled us with patience and grace! My one small complaint is that when she scooped ice cream, she didn't wear a glove. It made me more uncomfortable on one night because she had a bandaid on one of her fingers that she was scooping with. I don't doubt her handwashing practices, but I would've felt better with a glove on or something. But maybe I'm just a germaphobe. At any rate, once I got over that, the ice cream was truly fabulous! I had a scoop of peanut butter pie one night and a scoop of the brownie biscoff the other. Both were yummy, but the brownie biscoff was a revelation. I'd buy it by the pint if I could. They have about 20 flavors to choose from and you can also get milkshakes and sundaes. There's not much seating inside, but we were staying nearby so we just took our goodies to go both nights. I wish I'd had more time to try more flavors. But I'm sure I'll invariably be back in this area for a vacation in the future -- and a return visit to Del's will be on my list for that trip! read more

I was really impressed with these ice cream flavors! They had so many options beyond the typical "chocolate, strawberry, Superman, cookie dough) My kids got the honey lavender (so refreshing) and the hot chocolate flavored ice cream. The s'mores flavor would have been up my alley but I wasn't in the mood for a whole serving. They mentioned they did away with a kids size scoops and I definitely recommend bringing that back. Service was great too! Wish I could remember the young lady's name but she was so kind and friendly. She was happy to let my kids test a few flavors which was nice. You know sometimes you get those that seem annoyed when you ask for samples so I was very pleased. This is hands down our new favorite ice cream shop at the beach! Will go again for sure! read more

They demolished those in no time. Husband got the Reese's Peanut Milkshake and it looked heavenly!! Too bad lactose is not my friend. Did I mention how nice the employees are and they worked well as a team to prepare the orders so we didn't have to wait long for one person to make all the items.
