I have been a part of several amazing gyms, I have had the privilege of coaching so many people over the years, and I owned my own CrossFit gym for 5 years. When I decided to sell my gym, I thought I was done with CrossFit. I tried going to a traditional gym - but I was bored. I didn't think I'd be able to find another gym where I felt as comfortable and welcomed as my own. But, thankfully, I was so wrong. Immersion is run by owners and coaches that are just as, if not more, passionate as I was. It has top-of-the-line equipment. Everything is always clean. The set-up with two rooms allows them to run two different style classes at once. As a busy professional, and father of 3 young boys, I love their schedule with classes throughout the day, and I appreciate that I can bring my boys to take the kids class while I take the Crossfit class at the same time! The members are all ages and fitness levels. Their coaches really put in the extra effort to not only make sure everyone is safely and effectively working out, but also that it is a fun, welcoming environment. About a year and a half ago, my company sponsored a fitness day at a place called Hotworx in Davie. I complained leading up to it, I complained throughout it, and secretly I was freaking out because I actually LOVED it!! When my friend moved to Deerfield and said she wanted to join a gym a suggested we try the Hotworx in Deerfield. Again, i LOVED it! I ended up joining Hotworx Deerfield Beach in April '24. I'm NEVER quitting this gym...gym quitter no more! I actually get upset if i can't make it to the studio. First off, the workout is incredible. Before you say "Eww i could never workout in a sauna." Yes you can. The infrared is a totally different type of heat. You will sweat. You feel the heat, but you feel it deep in your muscles and joints. This helps you stretch deeper and hit those poses in less time. You WILL feel absolutely fantastic, stronger, healthier, and happier with yourself. My skin is soft, my muscles are stronger, my joints don't hurt anymore, my plantar fasciitis is gone, my mental health is on point. Sandra, the owner, and her team are absolutely wonderful. They collectively have created a safe environment for everyone who steps foot into this studio. I feel confident and comfortable when I am here (even if at times I have no idea what I'm doing). There are members of all different ages, sizes, genders, races, fitness levels, and there is ZERO judgement. There's only encouragement. Turns out Ryan is also a trainer and a genuinely great guy. Ryan is very knowledgable and personable as well as very encouraging, and he is always smiling - except when it is his turn to lift lol. Margate Barbell is primarily a powerlifting gym, and Ryan is always around to make sure you are using correct technique to avoid injury. If you prefer circuit training Ryan's got plenty of tricks up his sleeves to keep your heart pumping. It's a smaller gym, but boasts a great atmosphere and great people.
