I usually don't post a lot of reviews but I have to agree with…read moremany of the reviews the equipment is very old to the point that some of the leather on some equipment is ripped and makes it hard to do your exercises. Not to mention they never lubricate the machines and they are rusty and some machines get a lot of friction making it hard to know if you are fighting the weight you put on or the sliding friction (ex. Back squat machine, seating calf raise, etc.). I used to go to planet fitness and although they don't have as much free weights as fit Republic most of their equipment is very new and lubricated and not rusty for sure. I know they have to make some money but come on at the very least repair the rips and lubricate the equipment. I joined in December 2020 at that time wasn't very crowded and now March 2021is overcrowded to the point that it's hard to get machines to do your workout. They have a seldom use training area it will be nice to put some machines there and allow members to train when classes are not happening that would allow more room to keep up with the crowd. At $19.99/month plus $39 yearly fee I definitely expected more. Plus they don't allow multi-membership accounts so no discounts at all. Will definitely consider going back to my old (newer) gym once that is open if they don't take care and maintain their equipment. Another thing is the no gym bag tule really sucks as I was able to carry all my equipment there and keep it neatly in my bag until I needed it. Now I have to carry a bunch of stuff in my hand which makes it more unsanitary and unsafe to have all on the floor. Funny thing is they say is due to COVID, safety and make it more sanitary which doesn't seem to be. My bag was very small by the way kind of like 16"x14" bad and they told me not to bring it in anymore.

It gives such a focused, motivating feel to workouts. The equipment selection is solid -- not huge, but they've managed to fit just enough variety without feeling like a warehouse gym. That said, it can feel a little tight in certain areas during peak hours, but overall it's a great setup for the size. The staff varies depending on time of day, I've found the daytime crew to be friendlier and more on top of cleaning and upkeep. Afternoons and evenings can get a bit hit or miss with cleanliness, which brings me to my only real gripe: they only provide rags and spray bottles. I personally bring my own wipes because the rags can get really gross (sometimes they're soaking wet and clearly overdue for replacement). Definitely not the most sanitary system. Aside from that, I still think it's one of the nicest options around Hanford. The price is a little higher compared to other local gyms, but considering the atmosphere and equipment quality, I'd say it's mostly worth it.

They offer a variety of classes, even offer free group runs and events on weekends if you're interested! Spartan run fan? They have a dedicated class just for you, to teach how to conquer all their devious damn obstacles in real races. The owner and head trainer is inspiring, kind and highly attentive, even in the group classes. Best yet? He might be the biggest clean freak in the fitness world-- a feature I MUCH appreciate. It's not a brutish meat head studio. It's clean (orange scented even!), tidy, fun, and its devotees are all skill levels, body types, ages, races and genders.
