Let me start by saying that Marx Entertainment provided both DJ services and Photo Booth services…read morefor our wedding. We were very unhappy with the DJ but happy with the Photo Booth set up and staff. My husband and I had DJ Craig for our wedding in September 2023. We had two meetings with him beforehand were we discussed how we would like the night to run. In addition to a list of "must-play" songs (something we were encouraged to complete), we discussed how we would like our table-dash, anniversary dance, alumni photo, and private dance to operate. We also noted on multiple occasions during both calls that we DID NOT want a lot of remixes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how DJ Craig managed all of these aspects except for the table dash and private dance. Here is where our issues lie: - Out of our 30 or so must play songs maybe half were played. - As laid out on the Marx Entertainment website we chose a "last song" for the dance floor. DJ Craig played the song we designated as our last song as a way to open the dance floor. - The first 30 minutes were exclusively remixes and bad ones at that. It got to the point where we said something to DJ Craig, and while the music did get better, he still continued to play remixes. Honestly, a Spotify playlist would have been better. - The anniversary dance was something DJ Craig suggested and we loved the idea. However, instead of doing what he had described to us where he starts calling people off the dance floor after some dancing and starting with short time increments, DJ Craig called for anyone married for less than 5 years to leave the dance floor after approximately 20 seconds. People hadn't even REACHED the dance floor to start dancing at that point, including the parents of the groom. Not to mention we are a young couple and that kicked more than half of the people off the dance floor in one sweep. - College alumni photo was announced at a very weird time and very rushed. Just felt awkward - We were immediately asked once the lights turned on to provide a positive video review for DJ Craig. This was extremely uncomfortable and we gave dishonest feedback during it. We would NOT recommend him. Like I said previously, the Photo Booth staff was excellent and we loved the book they made us. We also had no issues with booking or prior communication with Marx. While the set up and logistical execution of the event went well we didn't feel our opinions were considered at all in song selection and that the fun mini-events we had throughout the night went poorly

Our DJ, Manu, went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a successful event. He was in touch with us via phone and text a few days prior to finalize details, he arrived several (4-5!) hours early to make sure everything was set up correctly and sounding great, and once things got started I don't think he took even a 5 minute break! The music was great, he was a welcoming and enthusiastic MC, and I can't think of a single complaint. He even thanked US at the end for such a fun and warm event. We were so happy. We would hire them again in a second!

She sewed so many runners for our tables and came up with the idea of making a customized flag that we can hang for every special event going forward. She made us a lap quilt with the scraps from our runners as a surprise gift! Not only was that so touching, but it became a centerpiece as we laid the quilt over the birch bench used to sit during our ceremony. Patti's work is reasonably priced and she gets everything completed well in advance of the wedding. She enjoys what she does and it comes through in all her craft and design ideas. We could not have been more pleased with everything she did for us. Our guests loved the elegant decorations and want to hire her for their own events! We highly recommend Patti, from Simply Done, for helping making our wedding celebration even more special!

He gave my daughter so many wonderful ideas of things to do throughout the wedding that were different from the usual events. His talent is unbelievable, we loved how he sang and played guitar through dinner-it was such a personal touch, and much more pleasant than listening to CD's. Our dance floor was packed the entire night. I was the mother of the bride and I didn't sit down the whole time--I was having too much fun dancing the night away. So many of our guests commented on the wonderful job Gary did, and so many people said that was the "funnest" wedding they had ever attended. As we all know, the DJ is THE biggest factor in having a successful wedding day. You can NOT go wrong if you hire Gary. I would not wait if you are planning a wedding..he is in very high demand and I can certainly see why. On a side note...his twin girls ran the photo booth and they were just as awesome, and that was also a highlight of the evening. What a great team they made. Thanks to all!!
