Dr. Jensen is professional, amazing, and soft-spoken; he explained everything clearly and answered every question we had regarding the procedure. The efficiency was incredible--he removed two fully erupted top wisdom teeth and two horizontal impacted ones in less than 40 minutes under general anesthesia. The recovery was just as smooth; my son was pain-free by the second day using the provided ice pack and post-op instructions. The prescription was sent directly to the pharmacy, making the whole process seamless. His recovery was so fast that he was able to attend his first year of college just three days after surgery! I also loved the office layout, which includes a discreet side door to wheel patients out to the car. Tarah, the receptionist, was a pleasure to deal with and clearly explained our insurance coverage. I've also had the pleasure to deal with Nora (over the phone) and she was a sweetheart. Upon returning from my trip, I scheduled an emergency appointment with Luc Dental Care. An x-ray confirmed a large cavity in my wisdom tooth. I was immediately referred to Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists for a tooth extraction. I spoke with a friendly representative at Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists who was able to schedule a next day consultation and oral surgery. The following day I arrived to a group of friendly employees at the front desk that greeted me. Since I filled out the intake form prior to the appointment, I was only seated for two minutes before being ushered to the back. An employee took my blood pressure, administered an x-ray, and informed me that the surgeon would be with me shortly. Shortly after Dr. Fries entered the room and introduced himself. He gave me an overview of the procedure that would be conducted, asked if I had any questions, and then started a short video that informed me about post-extraction care. After the video concluded, I was ushered to another room where Dr. Fries and an employee began administering the local anesthesia. Roughly 10 minutes later, after confirming that the anesthesia had kicked in, Dr Fries began the procedure. Throughout the procedure Dr. Fries and the employee did a great job of communicating what was happening (the wisdom tooth was very stubborn in coming out) and verifying that I was not in pain (although there was slight discomfort). Three days later, strictly following the post-extraction rules, I have no pain (thankfully)...thank you Dr. Fries and the rest of the Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists team!

That being said, Dr. Hutto and his team/staff made sure I was comfortable and answered all my questions/concerns about the procedure, he was very personable, well-spoken and professional during my consultation. Deciding to go with general anesthesia was the wise choice since it took under 1hr, after the surgery there was only slight swelling and minimal pain (Dr. Hutto gave me pain prescription but it wasn't necessary, I have low pain tolerance and that's saying something). They also did a follow up to make sure everything was healing well and if I have further questions to give them a call. They'll provide a care package after post op, (instructions, irrigation syringe, gauze, cold press) 10/10 recommended. Thank you MOS!

The front desk was so rude and treated me like I was a bank robber!! They initially told me they were running behind (not my problem) and that i had 5 minutes or they would have to reschedule!! They Kept looking at me, whispering at each other and made me very uncomfortable. I know good customer service is hard to come by at $20 bucks an hour, but again they should know how to treat people with kindness. It is concerning that the practice refers to its operations using corporate terminology like "front and back offices," treating patients more like line items than individuals. Furthermore, the fact that a front-desk employee was without a front tooth for several months reflects poorly on a business centered around dental health and aesthetics. It suggests a lack of investment in both staff and the professional image of the practice. To be clear, my feedback is not related to any nondiscrimination policies, but rather to the overall focus and quality of the business. PS: I have updated my review more than a year after my last visit to this office. If you enjoy pain and a obnoxious dentist who cares nothing about his patients this is the place for you. You may be able to save a few dollars but I guarantee whatever you save you will wish you went somewhere else. Worse dental experience by far i ever had. Good luck if you choose this place. FYI. Office staff is great and they seem to have the latest equipment so that was a plus but the horrible pain i dealt with over a year of going there was definitely a horrible experience.

I had my wisdom teeth removed (all 4 at the same time, ouch haha) a few weeks ago and the care I received from the entire staff was top tier. My surgery went very smooth, aftercare was explained thoroughly, and billing was a very simple process. I was also quoted and paid a pretty low price, so that was a very nice bonus as I expected to pay much more. Post op follow up appt was optional and I opted out initially as I thought my recovery would be easy. I was wrong (sadly haha), and in some pretty good pain still about a week post op, which isn't super typical for WT removal. I made a quick phone call to the office and was scheduled the very next day for a follow up just to make sure no dry socket or anything awry was happening. I was reassured everything looked good and just needed to give it some more time. Thankfully now I feel great - just harder healing process because I'm "old" to be getting my WT out ;) I should mention that aftercare (visits, meds, etc) post op was included in the price of the treatment. I was urged by all staff to come back if/when needed and it was nice to feel like I wasn't being burdensome. I even got a check in the mail for a refund for part of my treatment because my insurance covered more than anticipated - really refreshing to see such honest bookkeeping! I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Antrobus, he is wonderful. He answers any and all questions and really makes patients feel comfortable. I would come back for any further oral surgery needs!
