There are so many great cities to visit in the UK with numerous hospitality options. So what if we don't have the weather, we have great indoor facilities. Located just outside Liverpool in Flintshire think family birthday treat and relaxing spa treatments in countryside oasis, think St Davids park. The spa treatments would go down really well for the ladies as a gift. This venue provides the perfect de-stressing environment offering full body massages and detoxing mud wraps. So get your spa vouchers and surprise that lady or lad in your life. A full day of pampering or relaxing will cost £50 for one person or if you want to book with a friend or partner £75 is a great deal. For that you get access to all leisure facilities as well as your very own Dever Bathrobe and slippers...yippeeee. If I was to have a POA for this I'd probably hit the gym first followed by a refreshing dip in the pool. I'd then head to the spa after a spot of lunch to get my Aromatherapy full body massage which would fly me straight to bliss city without red bull. Other treatments to choose from, each lasting an hour include - Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage with Chocolate Oil & Hot Stone Treatment - Mini Facial & Back Neck & Shoulder Massage - Mini Manicure & Mini Pedicure- Re-hydrating Facial. Or you can always choose the treatments you want from the brochure on the following link: http://www.devere.co.uk/dms/site/flyers/Spa-Menu-2008-2/Spa%20Menu%202008-2.pdf Room rates if you just want to stay and visit Chester or go shopping at Cheshire Oaks very depending on when you go, ranging from £60 on weekdays to £100 on week-ends, which is pretty standard for a 4* property. This really is a great place to stay and carries an ambiance which mixes the traditional exterior with the modern interior really well.

The service was great and they helped sing happy birthday and had a pianist play along. One word of warning: Don't believe the google directions on how to get to here. Instead simply follow the A494 and come off at the Buckley/St. David's Park exit (for the B5127).

It was incredibly quiet given the fact it's next to a busy A road which is a bonus after a long journey to get there. Checkin was relatively painless and the receptionist was helpful. I have to knock marks off checkout as another receptionist was on the phone sorting out someone's booking for a wedding and another member of staff who could've helped us blatantly ignored us. The room was excellent. Clean, warm and inviting. Plenty of towels and pillows (and storage space.) The inclusive WiFi was fast which was excellent. Didn't have breakfast here but it smelt inviting. There's also a mini gym on site but we didn't make use of these facilities.

It is within very easy reach of the A55. I would thoroughly recommend that you take a look at this place if you are looking for a reasonably priced venue. However, we then had a meal at the restaurant a few months later - they brought me the wrong starter, and then brought me one that was still frozen in the middle - eww. The sweet menu was written on scrap paper and even then they didn't have half of what was on it, so it was not a good experience. If you just want a meal, I would try somewhere else.

The bar food is surprisingly good; i can particularly recommend the lasagne and the goats cheese tart. There's a pool table and some comfy seat, some TVs and music is played at a nice, background, level. The location is a little odd. On one side you have the incessant drone of the very busy, ghost highway that is the A55, ploughing its way west through communities with a searing red tail, and on the other side you have bountiful country fields and fauna. Overall, a decent place to stay if you're working locally, but i can't imagine going there on hols!

The food appeared to mainly frozen (although it had been reheated ;-)) but it was acceptable and portions were reasonable. There wasn't a massive choice, the main was either turkey, beef or leek and potato bake, but this simplification probably helped as the service was very efficient. Thirty plus people were served three courses in about an hour without anyone being made to feel to rushed. I think everyone left happy, but then again we weren't paying!
