Best Indian food outside of India! The butter chicken is out of this world. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

We ended the meal with kulfi and it hit the spot. Ambiance was cozy and intimate. Would definitely recommend.

I was only able to get tickets for the AFH for a 6:15 p.m. tour, meaning we got finished around 8 p.m. Hence, this became our late dinner option that day. I wasn't sure how busy they would be, but I guess we arrived late enough so that they had a few tables available. The restaurant is located on a fairly busy street (served by trams, which we later used to get back to the Central Station area). It is only a few doors down from one of the canals. The menu indicated that they had been in business since the 1980s, so they must be doing something right. As an added reference point, they are about a 20-minute walk from the Central Station. We arrived and were greeted and shown to a table near the front of the restaurant. It seemed to extend quite a way back, but I didn't have a reason to venture further in. Our server was friendly and provided menus and took our drink orders. I know they had wine but I don't know if they had a full bar. There were certainly several tables of Americans and Brits who appeared to be well served in that regard, so maybe there was a bar... The menu was fairly extensive, with an appreciable overlap with dishes we were familiar with from Indian places in the U.S. We all found something to our taste. I think we ended up with a couple of vegetarian curry dishes and one that was chicken-based. We also got naan and rice. Everything was good, and given the lateness of dinner (for us), we were hungry. When the food came out, they also brought one warming stand per dish. This was something new that we encountered at a couple of restaurants on this trip. This is probably more relevant in the winter months, but it kept the food hot. I'd likely return here for another meal if I'm ever back in Amsterdam.

Was looking for a good Indian restaurant in Almere and found this place on Google. Someone wrote a…read morereview about this place looking like a snack corner from the outside and I have to admit that's true. It seems like an oddly placed little building in the middle of a road. On the inside its actually very nice and clean! Good start. From the outset I was a bit flabbergasted by their service. Not something Im really used to in the Netherlands. Apparently this guy was the owner, he is obviously very proud of his restaurant and food. He helped me finding the right dish and advised me some good side disches. He was very polite, dropped by at the right moments, really put some effort in serving etc. Awesome. There is one way to describe the food: Perfect. Real Indian food, all very tasty and nicely presented, good portions, very fresh and with some background information about the spices and the regions where they normally cook this food in India. Unfortunately it feels like this place is a bit underrated, its probably the location. However, if you like Indian food, you won't be dissapointed, these people deserve some props for real. Tip: Park your car in one of the side streets and walk from there and take the Yoghurt drink if you are planning to eat spicy food. I like spicy a lot but their hot sauce is actually hot! So careful :)

Nothing comes close to calling it Hyderabadi. I wish they stop calling it Biryani. Being from Hyderabad I really felt so bad a dish being misrepresented. Will never go back.wonder how it was rated so high making me go all the way there.
