I like the products; however, the staff working the deli side of the store received their customer service training in communist Russia !! No eye contact or acknowledgment, throw your change on the counter even when you hold your hand out, very little knowledge of the products they sell etc. read more

To be honest most of the produced, pastries etc are good, but the fact that they have terrible customer service is the reason they get 1 star. Yes I understand is a "cultural thing" for Slavic people to come off a bit rude, but come on you are a business in the US, so please upgrade your customer service skills. On more than one occasion, the owner was literally yelling an one of the workers for a simple mistake which I thought was wrong. I don't write reviews often, but after what happened earlier today I couldn't hold myself back from doing so. I came in to purchase stuffed pepper and pilaf, and I kindly asked if they could put a scoop of sour cream. She looked at me like I'm crazy. She told me to go buy some sour cream and that she wasn't just going to put some in my to go box unless I will be eating there. Well first of all I am not asking for free sour cream and second of all I do not need a 10 oz. container of sour cream either. Previously when I purchased food and asked for sour cream they provided it because it's common sense to provide condiments when you are selling ready to eat food. On the last note, they are not cheap either so for them to take my money and be completely rude I honestly don't think I will be shopping there just because I don't feel welcomed! read more

Best Russian grocers and coffee house in Vancouver WA or anywhere else. They have everything. The cappuccino is delicious with amazing pastries. The Salmon caviar is awesome. Everything's healthy and fresh in the grocery store and accompanying coffee house. I bought a new house nearby and shop here regularly, in accompaniment with Chuck's Produce (the latter which is better than Whole Foods). My mother came from Russia and I'm Midwest born, and still appreciate fine Russian food. This place makes Russia look good as competes with the best Moscow offers! There is a large Russian population in Vancouver and Portland OR, and this store is the creme de la creme of authentic Russian foods and pastries! read more

very rude, bad produce, horrible customer service, most of the times im being ignored, would never recommend this store to anyone. says its a russian store but most people just speak languages other than russian or english. read more

Beautiful cakes. Very friendly people. Market next door has interesting items. Good looking breads as well.

Svitoch is such a nice store. I would recommend it to anyone. They have a wonderful selection of products & also the bakery is the best. The owner, Olga, was so accommodating in helping me with the selection for my reception . Great customer service!!! This is the best store around Vancouver read more

Svitoch - Stuffed Fish - Grocery Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

Even though posted hours of operation are till 10 PM they basically close at 9:30. Deli clerks state that they are instructed by the owner to wash down all slicing machine at 9:30pm. I couldn't purchase any sliced meats or cheeses because deli clerks were refusing to cut me any. From this store I drove across town to different Russian store by the name of Gastronome where I walked through the door at 9:58 and got all the meats, cheeses, and breads I was looking for. read more

When you are shopping at this store you must be very careful because they tend to sell expired food (especially bakery). Sample deli before you buy it because you can easily get upset stomach and waste of money. Be sure that you keep your receipt in case something is wrong with bakery or other grocery. Be ready for absolutely awful customer service - rude, unpleasant and always look unhappy cashiers. read more

I love their bread but after today...thanks but no thanks!! I promise I will learn on how to speak their language so I can talk back to them The most horrible customer service. I stand in front of the cashier, behind the first customer who came before me.She helped the lady in front of me, but then ignored me. She helped another customer who came after and behind me while speaking in their language. I was going to buy the bread behind the cashier but I just left the store empty handed. I will not suggest this business to others but, may God bless their rude behavior to others! read more

Not my favorite Russian store!:( got food poisoning once from a chuburek that had bad meat! Then bought some kapchenka that was already molded! Also got a salad that was bad! Also went there once to buy a cake and they had a molded cake on display!!! Over all most of their food is pretty good just make sure you always always ask if it fresh! read more

Couple days ago I was helped on the bakery side by a lady named gulia, she was very sweet! I bought many different things, but I gotta say, the flavored cookies they have on the bottom of the Cookie case, they have different jam flavors.. Well about those, they need MORE jam! There's like nothing but dough:| ehh .. Macaroons have no flavor really .. And some were just crunchy..:( but some were yummy .. And the cakes were pretty good.! The boy with long hair was nice and helpful too! Thank you read more

Worst customer service ever. I don't even know why I am so surprised considering this is a Russian store and the second you walk in there you feel like you are an annoyance. I was there with my daughter who is a year and a half and she was touching candy and other things in the store and one of the workers there yelled at me and told me to keep my kid contained. She made me feel as if my daughter was a disease walking around in the store. The worst part is she accused me of being a undisciplined mom because I put my daughter on the counter with me while I was paying for the food, I don't think she realizes how absolutely disgusting and filthy money is, and it touches the counter numerous times a day. Fact is, she works there after we leave she could've easily taken out some All purpose cleaner and wipe down the counter but instead she continued to go on and say that I am a terrible parent:( how absolutely rude I've never been treated this way in my life!!! read more

I do not usually review places but this place is so good! I am going to have to hit the gym harder if I keep coming here. I tried the Potato Piroski yesterday and the Salmon Rastyagayka today OMG. Okay, okay I also had a crossiant yesterday with Feta cheese and it was off the hook. ; ) read more

I am putting one star because I was waiting in line and the owner was yelling and his workers. But I do like the the costumer service in this store. read more

I can't believe the freshness, the beauty of the way each artistic piece (the pastry) is displayed and how wonderful it tastes (no I can't have it all!)! Just beautiful!!! And, the star of the show is their piroshki and stuffed cabbage. OMG I'm in love with this place! read more

Wonderful - we stop on here every time we make it to Vancouver. Displays are eye candy and everything we have tried has been delicious!

Good deli meats and sausages, excellent hot deli items, good fish selection and a lovely bakery- both the bread and pastries are high quality, fresh and delicious. This is the nicest international market I have been to in town- clean, well lit, well stocked and very friendly, helpful employees. I will be making this a regular stop to pick up old country favorites. My only wish is for them to carry Romanian "bors" - a type of fermented wheat germ drink. I cannot find it anywhere! read more

I love this little store and spend way too much money here. Every time I step into this place, it's a good time and I leaves it in a good mood. It's just so nice to find things that are different than what you get in the supermarkets. I have shopped at Svitoch for many years now to get some tasty treats. The food selection is awesome, price reasonable. I specially like freshly made Russian/Ukrainian style cakes, pies, piroshki and chebureks. Great place to go to for candy or freshly made delicious coffee. When you have difficulty to find what you want or impressed by the assortment of products can not make you mind, friendly and helpful staff helps you to make final selections. You can take food to go or eat something right here in seating area with free Wi-Fi. I'm definitely recommend this to anyone who loves quality European food. Thanks guys for being so awesome! read more
