My dad first took me to Su Zhou after a quick yet very tiring trip to Pampanga for an ocular. Since then, I don't know how many friends I have brought here to share the goodness with them.
My personal favorites would be the Taiwan beef noodle, their onion pancake, the hot and sour soup, and at the top of my list, their xiao long bao. One serving of the Taiwan beef noodle soup can be good enough for two, with it's fragrant and flavor-rich dark broth, noodles, chunks of beef and a few pechay leaves. I personally like their hot and sour soup because it is teeming with ingredients that make for an interestingly delicious soup. I always tell people that theirs is probably the best hot and sour soup for me. If you want something light to munch on while waiting for your XLB, have the pancake, which I personally like to dip onto the sauce for the XLB. Lastly, my favorite xiao long bao. Steamed only upon ordering, theirs has a lovely juice so what I do is I place it on a tea cup, eat half the meat and wrapper, then when I'm done, I add a little dipping sauce and ginger onto the tea cup and take it like a shooter. The contrast of tastes blows me away each and every time. read more
