My husband introduced me to Le Ching when we were just dating. They've been around for decades. It was surprising that it was only 10 years ago that I was able to try the food in their Greenhills branch. In the last decade since he introduced the fabulous rice meals to me, they've increased in prices and have opened up several branches (including this one in Timog) but thankfully, the quality remains the same.
They do have a lot of things to offer but we ALWAYS order the same thing every time we go to whatever branch was closest. Spareribs Rice for him and Beef Brisket Rice for me. I love how the fat is marbled around the brisket which is super tender and melts in your mouth. It has a strong spice (star anaise) which gives it that particular taste that I always look forward to. It's funny though, it always surprises me when they serve it in that small tin bowl and I feel so full after. I always thought that the serving was a bit on the small side but if you try to transfer it to a plate, it is actually very hefty...even enough to feed two. Get a side of mami and soy milk and you have a very satisfying, good ol' fashioned meal.
This branch in Timog actually gets it right. The taste is the same as in the original branch in Greenhills. And according to the owner it is priced less. read more
