First time at Madison Dental and it was great! Dr. Sablan was absolutely amazing . I came to her to get a second opinion on a treatment plan I received from a previous office. SHE DIAGNOSED HALF OF THE TREATMENT NEEDED! I appreciate a doctor who is honest, conservative and takes patient's wishes into consideration. She works extremely fast. I got 4 fillings and a thorough cleaning done in under 2 hours. The staff was incredibly kind and explained everything that was happening from the dental work to insurance and billing. When she reached the office, Dr Sablan said ( pretty rudely) the Dr Yoon was no longer with them and she would do the procedure herself She had done this procedure and botched it up big time before with my friend so my friend had chosen Dr Choi. Everyone here are super friendly! I came here to get my wisdom teeth taken out, and I was scared out of my mind. I'm a type of person who hates going to the dentist, so I was very anxious about it. But they were really nice and walked me through the procedures, and made sure I was comfortable. Unfortunately, they do not offer you to sleep, so you'll have to be awake for it. They made sure I was numbed for the procedure because I do not want to feel any pain through my operation. Dr. Hanna was the surgeon and Suzanne assisted, both were super friendly. Dr. Hanna was great. He explained everything he was going to do and made sure I understood it. The operation went well, didn't feel much pain, phew! But I did swell up like a ballon. They were not lying! Overall, my experience here was great. If you need to find a place to get your wisdom teeth out, this would be a good place to go. If you need your regular cleaning it is OK. If you have something else going on, you should make sure you get a second opinion. Dr. Sablan likes the easy route and of course the most expensive. Since I am not making a commercial for the new doctor I visited after that, all I have to said is that he gained my trust after he told me what treatment I needed. Then I explained, that another Dr. (Dr.Sablan) wanted me to get a crown, the new doctor said: " I would try to keep the integrity of the tooth as much as possible, and use methods like that as a last resort" and also you can imagine that a crown could be more costly and overkilled. read more

I agree with some the previous negative reviews. If you're just going for a cleaning, it's all good. However, if there's an issue, beware. I had an emergency and when I called the emergency line on a Friday morning, I didn't get a response. I had to call back again in the afternoon. Instead of trying to immediately help me, Dr. Sablan scolded me on waiting to the last minute. She thought I was blaming the receptionist for booking my root canal appointment too far in the future when it was her fault for not telling the receptionist to book my appointment immediately. I'm not a dentist, I didn't know the repercussions of waiting so long and it was wrong of her to put the blame on me. Dr. Sablan's behavior was unprofessional. She was upset with me and kept on saying that I didn't trust her. The funny thing is, I actually did trust her. I was just scared of getting a root canal. I only wanted to get a second opinion from another dentist to make sure I actually needed one. After this traumatizing ordeal (tooth infection), I realized that her solutions are usually overkill and that's why I wasn't sure about this root canal. Some points to consider if you happen to go to this office: 1. Emergency response time is too long, or not at all. 2. You'll spend more time with the dental hygienist (the dental hygienists are usually pretty nice). 3. She does not communicate with her staff. 4. If anything goes wrong, she'll put the blame on you. 5. Office is only open for 4 days. 6. She charges an excessive fee on top of the insurance. But like I said, if you're doing a regular cleaning, it's all good. Probably cause a dental hygienist is doing it. read more

Dr.Sablan is a *dental magician*. She really knows what she is doing and her work is impeccable. We have been going as a family to her clinic (The Dental People) for more than 10 years. And every time it's been excellent! The staff are very courteous and nice. Today my younger one fell at his school and broke two of his front teeth. It was a disaster. We called in an emergency and Dr.Sablan came within an hour even though it was a holiday for her and her office was closed! Dr. Sablan is very nice and so is her staff. Though her treatment plans and even a regular cleaning can get very expensive. The reason for the 2 stars is because I needed to cancel an appointment because my daughter was sick and vomiting at school. I called a couple hours before her appointment and they tried to charge me an $80 cancellation fee! The receptionist Rosa(?) was not very understanding and had a not-so-good attitude by the tone if her voice. She seemed annoyed. I understand it may be an inconvenience to you by not calling 24 hours in advance, but unexpected things come up... wish they were more forgiving when it comes to scheduling. Other than that, living in the Bay Area, I know excellent dentists who are more ACCOMMODATING, and if not BETTER than Dr. Sablan's skills that don't try to charge me $80 for an emergency that I was not able to foresee. Smh. $80???! It is a shame because the receptionists have always kind and positive the times that I've been there. However, all it takes is bad experience to ruin all the great times I've been there. 2 stars for the nice staff. However, I will not return for the following reasons: -Dr. S filled a cavity in between my teeth. After a few days I was in pain. She refilled it a 2nd time. Few days later, pain. Went back and explained what I was feeling and she said she had to fill it a 3rd time. I decided I would get a second opinion. We made an appointment with another Dr. We picked up our X-rays from Sablan and when we got to the other dental office, the staff at the new office realized Sablans office switched my X-rays with my husband's X-rays. Yikes. The new dr took a new bite wing and immediately identified the cause of my pain, a pocket. The filling wasn't done right twice. Sablan's office is really high tech, flat screens, etc. but I would have preferred not having to endure so much pain for what started as a small cavity and having to foot the bill to resolve the problem. read more

Recently, I got into a bad car accident and the air bag that popped out chipped a part of my front teeth. With sadness & disappointment I feel compelled to write this... They had cancelled my dental cleaning for my wedding, without telling me. Bridezilla moment or not, this is just bad. It was the day before I left for my out of town wedding. Naturally I was a frantic bride scrambling around town, running errands & attending back to back appointments. I had structured my day for my dental cleaning appointment as that was the least flexible. More importantly I wanted my pearly whites their whitest for my big day! I had arrived on time for my appointment only to find a darkened office with the doors locked. I was confused & shocked, but remained calm as I left a voicemail message on their office line. My call was returned later that day & a nice staff member apologized profusely for my experience. They did make attempts to see me next day but it was too late as I had a 7AM flight to catch the next day. I truly appreciate the apology but to offer nothing else, perhaps a free cleaning, whitening, anything to make amends would have made me reconsider. I've been a loyal patient for the past 5 years as the workers are really nice & professional but this one incident, unfortunately a really bad incident, still gives me a very baaad taste in my mouth. read more

My whole family, even extended ones, have been coming to Suzanne for all dentistry needs since i think she became a dentist. So technically she kinda experimented on all of us and got better through us and her growing roster of patients. Actually let me take that back. She was good then, even better now. To give you an idea of how skilled she was back then, Suzanne pulled all 4 of my wisdom teeth in one session with minimal use of novacaine and very little blood gushing out. Even after 30 minutes from leaving her office, back when it was on Mowry, I went to McDonalds and got myself a Chicken nugget Happy Meal! I'm not afraid to admit it, i'm chicken shit when it comes to getting my teeth worked on. i don't know what it is, but I never grew out of it! Dr. Sablan's office was PERFECT in every sense of the word! I called to make an appointment, received a call to verify my insurance info within an hour, confirmed appointment, showed up and filled out pre-treatment questionaire and new patient info, actually sat down with the receptionist Kelly to review everything that i signed, and they got me in the back right away! Manuel, the hygienist, did my cleaning, and Dr. Sablan came after and did a thorough exam! Manuel did a great job explaining the procedure and all my questions were answered. Very friendly and definitely knowledgeable. Our conversation went from the good 'ol days in the Eastbay, football, to family, to collectibles, to college! That definitely helped ease the anxiety. Dr. Sablan was very thorough in her examination post cleaning. she talked to me about further treatment and other concerns. She made me feel like I was the only patient there, even though the place was totally packed! She answered all my questions patiently, and even walked me out to the receptionist counter after the examination. Overall, this place is dental heaven!! I love this place! I was terrified of the dentist before coming here but now I love going because of Dr. Sablan! I have referred so many people to her because she and her whole staff are so nice. The receptionist, Danielle is the best. I was crying on the phone when I made my first appointment and she assured me everything would be ok and didn't think I was a weirdo haha. Turns out I had gotten a horrible infection in one of my wisdom teeth because I hadn't been to the dentist in 5 yrs. Dr. Sablan took me in for a free consultation and in the calmest way possible told me that my wisdom teeth need to come out asap. She went over all the options for me since I have such sensitive teeth and was so terrified of having them take them out without being put to sleep. Dr. Sablan has a magic touch with a drill. 10 for 10 on pain-free cavity fillings. Do yourself and your teeth a favor and make an appointment. Dr. Sablan has a real talent for dentistry, and it shows in the ease and speed with which she performs. I went to Dr. Sablan after not seeing a dentist in nearly a decade. I expected the worst.... and her hygienist, Manny, certainly earned his money giving my teeth a thorough cleaning. But x-rays showed 10 small cavities. Dr. Sablan knocked out 5 one day and the other 5 a week later. I was a little nervous when she told me that the cavities were small and I wouldn't need anesthesia. But when she started the drilling process I felt almost nothing... and certainly no pain. Her staff also couldn't have been nicer. In three mid-day visits I never spent more than 5 minutes in the reception area. I actually look forward to returning for a check up. read more

I really want to give 5 stars but I had to remove 1 star for one of the lady Hygienist. I think she was new. I don't remember her name. She was a bit older lady. She was very nice and sweet lady but she was way too rough and it was very painful. I think getting tattoos was least painful then her scraping my mouth apart. I will be requesting different Hygienist perhaps Manual on my next cleaning. Manual was my first Hygienist. He was awesome. Very gentle and same time he cleaned them very well. Manual get 5 stars from me. I would give 5 stars to Dr. Sablan. She has not done actual work on me as yet. I've visited few times for our plan. She is very experience, very calm and explain very well. I feel very confident already about the work we are about to do. She showed me the model of the work she about to do on my upper veneer. I was very impressed to see them. I am just very excited and have a good feeling about this. I am hoping the actual good work will make me change from 4 stars to 5 stars. Until then stay tuned! Dr. Sablan just completed with my veneer today. It was a bit of the long process but all worth it. The reason it took a bit longer was Dr. Sablan took her time and make sure they look and feel perfect. I am totally happy with the result. Just the way I expected or even better. The whole staff are delightful and over all I think they deserve 5 stars. I still have more work to be done with Dr. Sablan tho. I finally feel like I found my dentist. We're moving out of the area, so I thought it was high time I write a review for Dr. Sablan and her team in Fremont. When we moved into Fremont about six years ago, I needed to find a dentist for my son (who was in kindergarten at the time.) I'm incredibly fearful of dentist work because of bad experiences in the past, and I wanted a wholly different experience for my son. From day one, her team - from the front desk to the hygienists to Dr. Sablan herself have all been incredibly patient and kind with my son. He's been going regularly for years now and ENJOYS visiting the dentist. I owe that to Dr. Sablan and her staff for always making our visits fun for him, and for answering every single possible question he has had (and that's been a lot). LOL They've been incredible with him and because of them, he has none of the concerns or issues I have. I'm so grateful for that. For me - while I still struggle making it to the dentist as often I should, when I've had to go for emergency work, I've gone to them. The work was done quickly, done well and the entire team has always been very patient and understanding of my fears, they've been very calm and kind with me and not once have they pressured me to more than I'm comfortable doing. I can't recommend them enough, and they'll be a tough act to follow as we move out of this area. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would... I came here based on yelp reviews and that was a huge mistake. Not sure how others had such an enjoyable experience but mine was the WORST dentist visit I ever had. Making the appointment was a breeze and so was the beginning of the visit. I was taken in to see Manny and he was very nice and friendly. The cleaning was fine and he began to shoot the breeze with me until Dr Sablan came in.... ONE HOUR after my cleaning was done. Poor guy, he spent all his time trying to entertain me since she left me hanging out by myself, he even started his next cleaning late because of that. Once I had enough of waiting and was about to just leave with the damn paper bib on, Dr Sablan walks in. No smile, no apology, NOTHING. She just said oh, you have a minor cavity and told her staff to schedule it. I asked her about getting a retainer or something to prevent me from grinding my teeth and her response was "it's up to you, you can get pricing at the front desk". Her attitude was clear that she either did not like me (which how she decided that in 3 mins is beyond me) or she was having a bad day, in which I frankly don't care. Then she left. Mind you, I was there from 2pm to 5 pm and I spent a total of 3 minutes with her. I went to schedule my next appointment and get the overpriced quote for my cavity and I was almost in tears. I felt so unwelcome by Dr. Sablan at that point I just wanted to run out of there. I would never go back even if they paid me. Oh and even after all of that I got referred to a oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth, I asked Dr Sablan's staff to please email the oral surgeons office my full pano. I get to the office and they sent ONE photo of 3 of my teeth...WTF? I had to call and sit with them on the phone and explain how I KNOW I had a full pano done, and wait until they sent it. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. If yelp doesn't drag my review to the bottom please, take it from me, spend your precious time elsewhere. read more

Prior to that appointment, I hadn't seen a dentist for about 8 years because it had been such a traumatic experience for me. I was terrified but read the good reviews on Yelp and so I decided to give it a shot. I felt absolutely pampered. Her and her assistant were very careful with my mouth and were always concerned with how I was feeling, if anything hurt, etc and would stop immediately if I made any sort of sound that even imitated pain. It lightened my fear of dentists a TON. She also explained why I had been having jaw pain in a way that actually made sense. In short, I ended up having ten cavities and would need two root canals. Blegh. My suggestion is to see Dr. Sablan before you get into my situation :P read more

The staff introduced themselves and made me comfortable during a scary time for me. My jaw always gets tired and she is so patient with me when I want to rest. I also want to mention that she isn't pushy with her recommendations. One time I asked for veneers for cosmetic reasons and she explained that it may not be so beneficial for me. She also makes sure that her work is of the utmost quality. OK seriously, I am one of those people that had a horrible experience with the dentist while having my wisdom teeth out when I was a teenager. This created a real phobia to return to the dentist - like 15 years... I've tried a few since and then my wife found Dr. Sablan. Dr. Sablan is very supportive and has a way about her professionalism that settled me right away. The quality is unbelievable too, trust me she had a lot of work to do with my teeth. Sure it cost money, but if a cheap dentist is what your looking for then you'll more than likely find that in their work as well. I have a number of neck and back injuries but she made certain I was comfortable and felt secure prior to starting my treatment. IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A DENTIST YOUVE FOUND THE BEST! I cannot believe im writing my first review! I never knew how many people are scared of going to see the dentist until today! Growing up i had horrible experiences with dentist so of course my fear of going to see one grew each year! I recently gave birth to a baby boy and even though labor was quick and easy i bit down too hard and broke off half of my tooth! I started being in horrible pain about 3 months after and i realized it was time to go see a dentist. I went to a few offices but i wasn't comfortable with any of them! One day i was literally dying in pain and one of our close friends recommended The Dental People im so glad he did! from day one of me visiting them they treated me like ive been a patient for years! I was greeted by April and Danielle and as soon as i told them i was incredibly nervous to be seen they told me everything was going to be fine and they were going to take good care of me! Automatically i felt super comfortable and less worried. Rosa the dental assistant then escorted me to the back and we talked about our kids and how she just recently had a baby too! I work for the Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts and were huge n connecting with our guests and making them feel at home! So i definitely appreciated Rosa not being weirded out by me asking about her kids when i brought up mine! I was seen again about 1-2 weeks after my initial visit and i was SOO THANKFUL i called on a Monday morning as soon as they opened (i was again in horrible pain the day before) and they were able to squeeze me in to be seen as an emergency! Again so thankful! on this day i met another dental assistant (i cant remember her name) and she was super sweet and helful! she also connected with me and mentioned the same thing happened to my tooth happened to hers when she had a baby! after meeting with her i met Dr. Sablan and she prescribed me antibiotics and pain killers to help keep me sane! Now fast forward to my appointment yesterday! I had two teeth extracted unfortunately they could not be saved and like before i was a nervous wreck! They were kind enough to let my husband come with me to keep me calm but i didnt even need him! Rosa stayed with me the entire time and kept me calm! Dr Sablan walked in and when i thought she was just checking my teeth she was actually staring to numb my gums with that huge needle they use & I DIDNT FEEL A THING! I was sooo impressed she took the time to carefully hide the needle so i wouldn't see it and get scared! The procedure went super quick and painless! Another thing i definitely appreciated was them asking me what I wanted to do and give me options! Other offices i went to would just tell me "you need to do this and this and you also need to get this other thing done" & they didnt even bother on telling me how much it would cost or how much my insurance was going to cover! The BEST dentist I have ever been to! 8 years ago I woke up and could barely open my mouth. I went to see her and was diagnosed with TMJ disorder. She worked with me over several weeks and I was fitted with a night gaurd that helped to prevent any further damage from grinding and helped to keep my bite aligned while I slept. I went from only eating soft foods to finally being able to take a bite of a sandwhich. She is the absolute best. I had to move across the country, so I can no longer see her. But, I'm telling you, if i had the money I would fly to her office to be seen again. My current dentist does not compare, and has messed up all of her amazing work. If you have TMJ disorder, I know how hard it can be to find someone who actually knows what they are doing. Look no further, Dr. Sablan is it !! read more
