Dr. Maffei and Dr. Grover, and partners missed pericardial effusion, infected pericardium,…read morepericarditis, cardiac tamponade, cardiac tachycardia. 24 years ago I was near death, pale, my breathing labored, distended carotid arteries, losing weight in my 6th and 7th month of pregnancy. They attributed this to my being an 'older mother', what is called 'geriatric pregnancy', at 36 y.o. I was soon in the ER, had an x-Ray, which was sent to my GP. Saw my GP soon after, who saw a large shadow around my heart, and heard a pericardial 'rub' through stethoscope. Sent to cardiologist who scheduled surgery immediately. Had emergency heart surgery in 7 1/2 month of pregnancy to cut a pericardial window and drain infection around my heart. All because these STUPID vapid self centred "doctors" didn't listen to my complaints or ever do a proper examination, me and my baby almost died! To think that Dr. Maffei is STILL practicing and missing diagnoses!!! OMG!

Dr. Maffei missed my very obvious breast cancer for at least three years when I had nipple…read moreretraction and flattening. There was no lump as I had glandular cancer which is found in a small percentage of women. I discussed the situation repeatedly with her, but mammos were normal . This is also not uncommon for this type of cancer. She should have known that and acted on the very classic presentation of glandular cancer. It's an understatement to say that I'm unhappy with her treatment.

Bakas almost let my baby die. I wish I were joking…read more I was in my third trimester and was bleeding. I made an appointment with Dr. Bakas who "saw" me (but really never took his eyes off his clipboard) and he said it was normal and to go home. Treated like cattle. Days later, I continued to bleed so I called him up and was seen again. He, along with his nurse, laughed at me and told me that maybe I am too sexually active and that bleeding is fine in your third trimester. Do you know how frustrating and humiliated it is to be LAUGHED at and ignored when you know that your baby is in trouble? Obviously, I knew better and was able to switch to a new doctor that same week. Dr. Francene M. Gallousis did an ultrasound and saw that I had a grade 3 placental abruption. She said that basically, my placenta was bleeding and that it was too "old" for my son. It looked like a 42 week old placenta and that my son would starve if he could not be induced right away. I had him induced 3 days later right at 36 weeks. 5lbs 13oz. If I had waited to switch doctors just by a few days, who knows what would happen. Very scary. Stay away from this horrible, horrible doctor. I'm not even sure how he can be called a doctor. No competent doctor would call bleeding in your third trimester NORMAL. Dr. Francene M. Gallousis, MD on the other hand, saved my son's life. She is an amazing doctor with incredible bedside manner and for whom I will always be grateful.
