If there is any hope of San Francisco it lies in the condition of Sutter Stockton. Owned by the city ( I use to sit on the board of trustees of the SF Parking) they could have easily let it fall into "tenderloin condition" Instead they modernized the elevators, repainted, cleaned up, beefed up security...and automated everything. In other words they have made it way better. No more homeless people peeing allover the place. If Sutter Stockton can do it.....Herb Caen's Baghdad by the Bay sure can too! read more

It is very close to Chinatown, less than a 10-minute walk, depending on your walking speed. The price is reasonable. The parking spaces are a bit tight; if three SUVs park next to each other, the one in the middle may not be able to open the doors fully. read more

Safe, clean, and conveniently located! Fair pricing and helpful staff. The best parking garage in downtown SF. Highly recommend!

Great location if you're going near/around Union Square. Used this garage twice this week for the holiday season. My gps brought me to the entrance on Bush and it was closed from that entrance. I had to go around from sutter at to get to Stockton to get to the other entrance. I usually find free street parking if it's past 6pm but this is a not bad alternative. We used this garage on Friday 12/23/2022 from 630pm-1am. Total was $21.00 We were here around 3pm-7pm on 12/26/2022 on a Monday. Our total ended up being $14.00 You get 15mins to exit the garage after you pay at the machines on the way in. When exiting there are certain times you can't turn left onto Sutter st. read more

This is my go to garage for Union Square because it's clean and easy to park, especially now that no one comes into the city since everyone is doing remote or hyrbrid work. A quick walk to Union Square and to where we were heading, the Philippine Consulate. Plus we could hear all the drum beating and bullhorns from the hotel workers protesting (why is it that every time I'm in the city, they hotel workers are on strike). Yeah it would be easier to park on the street, but this way you won't run the risk of running out of time or having some homeless person help you into a street spot, only to harass you for cash since he "helped" you to park. read more

Looks like a safe garage. Well maintained and paying stations are replete. Right in the heart of S.F. Quick to get back on freeway.

It's a parking garage. I didn't get bipped. Definitely over priced but better than worrying about my car all weekend.

Never park there!!!! My car got stolen during daytime , it's just disappeared without broken glass somehow in the parking garage with security, cameras and gates !!! I had to file police report and parking garage management was not helpful at all ! Stay away if you don't want to lose your car!! read more

Sutter Stockton Garage - Police report - Parking Near Me - San Francisco, California

Had a very unpleasant exchange with Carlos the manager who was reprimanding a customer who was attempting to move the sign blocking the 5th floor because the 4th floor was getting too full. Apparently they won't open the 5th until all the spots on 4 have been filled. What's happening is when it's almost full cars are backing out and going the wrong direction to find spots and that is unsafe and creates hostile experiences... Not to mention as a woman it's important for me not to park in back and nearish to elevator for safety. Carlos was rude to that woman moving sign and to me when I came to her defense and explained the unsafe situation... I also had to tell him multiple times to not be aggressive and get in customers and woman's faces. He only said, we don't have the ability to monitor that floor. One more level out of at least 12 they have there... We pay enough to have the 5th floor accessible. Bad Stockton/Sutter, bad. Please open the 5th floor. *when I left to go home I stopped by Kiosk (which is now unavailable for anyone) found a attendant standing nearby and asked how to complain about this and he said "Carlos is the manager so sorry". Also noticed at 12:30 when I left they had still not opened the 5th floor. After parking here for over 20years I am very disappointed. read more

I have used this garage for many years, and it is my preferred option in the Union Square area. Well laid out, good sized parking spaces, clean, seems safe, and generally well maintained. A couple of minor quibbles are that the 4th level exit is closed much of the day, as are the levels above the 4th level. read more

DO NOT PARK HERE! My car was stolen out of this garage. The parking lot attendant could care less. They were not helpful whatsoever and did not give me any helpful information such as what time they drove my car out of the garage, if they used a credit card, or if there was any video footage. I have called them multiple times and have been told they would call me back. It's been 2 weeks since my car was stolen and I have yet to speak to anyone regarding this matter. You would think a parking garage is safer than parking on the street in San Francisco but this garage is not safe. It's unsafe and dirty! read more

Absolute garbage garage. Not too familiar with the area...we were going to just try out Boba Guys. I turned into the parking garage with no rates posted at the entrance or the screen, and decided to just park there. We probably only spent 10 min and had to pay $5. That is completely fine, but the worst part was the elevator and the stairs. When we were going back on the elevator to the car, we went up with another person. I believe he got off on the 3rd floor and we were parked on the 4th. After he got out on the 3rd, the door closed and didn't move. 4th floor was still lit up from when we pushed it, but it didn't move. I pressed the open button and we were still on the 3rd floor, and we just got out and decided stairs for a floor is fine. No doorknobs on half the doors....I had to yank the door super hard through the doorknob hole in order to get out...stairs smelled like piss. Avoid at all costs. read more

I love this place and I use them at least thrice a Month and everytime i go there I am greeted with a smile and guide me to park. I use this place as its near to my clients and no breakins or theft has ever happened since August 2022. This place is clean though slightly pricely but worth parking here. The Best thing is about their service and people who work there and I want to complement MIKE who is such a warm person and very friendly person and a great human being, he is on second or thrid floor but a person who is ready to HELP his clients. Keep up with good work MIKE! The best part is I am heading there this morning! Mo Polani read more

Paid my ticket @ 6:16pm and was charged $5 including the 25% tax. Had to walk up the stairs and and settle all the kids in the SUV. Those who know, it's not fast getting kids seated and buckled up. Left the garage @ 19min later. As I was exiting, I was charged for another full hour for the 19min @ $4 because I missed the free exiting time line to exit. I believe you only get 10-15min to exit before they charge you. At least charge me for the 19min and not the full hour!! If I knew that, I would've stayed longer. read more

Did the price to park at the Stockton Sutter garage go up? I parked my car on Monday at 5:40pm and was there until 9:45 pm. Evening prices are usually 2.00 from 6-midnight and 3:00 from 3:00-6:00pm The machine charged me 21.00. That is like 5.00 an hour. Did they not switch their vending pay machine? No receipts so I can't even dispute the charges. read more

Parking downtown is expensive. Most of the time, I'm only there for a couple hours and I end up paying for a whole day. Sutter Stockton Garage is one of the cheapest garage in the Financial District that I have found. Hourly Rates are based on the peak hours, so here - do your math or the Daily Max is $36. 12:00 am to 9:00 am - $2 per hour 9:00 am to 12:00 pm - $3 per hour 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm - $5 per hour 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm - $3 per hour 6:00 pm to 12:00 am - $2 per hour Sun (9:00 am-6:00 pm) - Save $1 per hour off the above rates Plus the lot is somewhat clean, seems secure and is in walking distance of almost everything. So rather than take my chances looking for parking, I just set my GPS to Sutter and walk from there. read more

Not much one can say about a garage other than it's in a decent location, that offers a good rate, but like any garage in the downtown area YMMV. My understanding is Sutter Stockton offers overnight parking and conveniently located across the street from the Grand Hyatt, it's a nice alternative to paying $70+tax for valet parking, but make sure to keep your visible areas of your car cleared of stuff. The elevators on Sutter takes you out into a lobby that's a bit shady with homeless so be aware, otherwise I find the rates here to be better than Union Square and it's also more centralized if you want to access Chinatown. read more

I pay $400 a month for a non reserved parking spot in this garage and the number of times I have had my car broken into is crazy ! I have nothing in it and I even try sometimes to park closer to the admin office but at least 2-3 times a year for the last 2 years a window gets broken. read more

I hate driving. And looking for parking. But parking around Union Square can be less of a headache thanks to this garage. Its close location to Chinatown's lion gate on Grant St and numerous SF stores in the vicinity makes it a no brainer for me. $3 per hour and if you're planning to park overnight, it's only $8 (after 5pm and leave by 8am). Enter and exit on Bush st. (this is a one way st.) but not as much foot traffic as Stockton st. read more

Great location for parking if you want to visit downtown SF. First 2 hours were free so that was a great bonus.

DO NOT PARK HERE!!!! the years past it's been a nicer place to park, but this year, I've noticed it is infested with homeless and junkies that have "camps" set up in various places. In addition, not only are the top two floors closed, but the lights are never turned on, even at night. Staying at the WorldMark across the street, I see their nightly "gatherings" on the roof. Don't bothering calling the property management, because they will straight tell you on the phone, THEY DONT CARE! read more

Sutter Stockton Garage - This is one of the clowns that infest the top floors. - Parking Near Me - San Francisco, California

The Sutter Stockton garage occupies most of the city block of Sutter, Stockton and Bush streets but not as far east as Grant I believe. This parking lot is big and while space is at a premium in San Francisco these drive paths and spots are not shrunken like some other lots I've seen in the city. This lot basically has a lowest point (floor 1) where the motorcycles parking is designated and the entrance on Stockton where the tunnel is located is actually floor 2. If you're on the Bush side of the garage entering there is actually level 3. What can I say, this garage like many other things in this city are built on a hill. If you're on floor 4 you can exit on the Bush side on a ramp that level with the street near the top of the tunnel over the bridge. Confused yet? I parked my car here almost 7pm on a Monday evening and didn't touch the car again until about 10am on Thursday. On paper and according to my receipt that's 2 days, 14 hours and 53 minutes. The parking fee was 102 dollars! Now I know that may sound outrageous but really this is actually a deal. San Francisco is expensive and this area is Union Square. For a self parking lot that's well lit and with self pay kiosks this parking is affordable by SF standards. The location is the thing. I had an SUV and I could open the door on either side without hitting other cars. I've been to lots in San Fran before where you'd have to let passengers out before pulling in so they wouldn't be able to open their door. This lot gives decent space and some spots are designated as compact etc. The pay stations as far as I could see were located all on the 2nd level by the Stockton street entrance. read more

Steps from Union Square Park, higher-end shops, Chinatown gate, and Nob Hill. If not from the area some of the streets feel sketchy. Car break-ins is a problem all over SF but recently I've noticed more security/attendants walking the floors here. Rates vary depending on time you arrive so it's relatively inexpensive in the evening/night (e.g., the last visit costs me $13 for 7+ hours from late evening on). On 280N take the 6th St exit going straight to Bush St, where it's a one-way Street and lessen chances to make wrong turns. The garage entry is also easier to access than the entry on parallel Stockton St. read more

Convenient location to union square. I always park here for my dental appointments. The price is reasonable for the area. My car has never been broken into here, although the area is sketchy. Street parking is not something I'd recommend here. Be safe and keep aware of the area you are in. I hope the area improves post Covid. read more

Beware! Do not park here! No security cameras. One security guard who cannot speak English and is useless. MANY homeless people searching cars on every level. Criminals on bikes perusing the floors ready to strike. Came back to car to find it broken into and I NEVER leave anything visible. Attendants couldn't care less. Stupidly park here at your own risk. One star for the property managers giving 2 (Fs) about the junkies and bums here. Not to mention all of the stollen property nor the damage to the vehicles parked on their property. I reported to them that my license plate had been stollen from my car and they didn't even blink. The security guard, whom you NEVER see, is tinny and can't speak english very well. They have NO cameras at all, it's pretty much a gamble to park here. I pay $380 (cause I have no choice) to park here on a monthly basis and it's at lest $33 a day here, can't they afford to get cameras and at least two confident security guards to patrol this place?!? Today, I am now one of the many who has had their car broken into. I am livid and will be speaking with the managers.....wish me luck! The management company at this building will be changing on Feb 1st, I'm praying that they do a better job than the current one. read more

I guess it gets the job done? Pros: It's in a great location for any part of your Union Square excursion. Cons: People are correct when writing about the cons-- 1. There are drug addicts, homeless, pan handlers, the mentally ill and the smell of urine all around you. 2. The elevators are incredibly slow and/or they are not all working. Car break-ins are rampant. I went back to my car (in less than 10 minutes) because I forgot something and my windows looked like someone was using a crowbar to pry them open. 3. Watch your back. The citizens of SF are starting to speak up about the state of our city. It's ridiculous lately and I think the powers that be are finally listening to us. I guess it took Oracle pulling out of their annual week long convention here( to the loss of 64 million dollars) because of these issues---to shake things up. read more

If you must park in this garage, do not park anywhere above the 6th floor. Above that, there are no security cameras. I just had my rear side window smashed and my personal belongings taken; I had parked right near the elevators as well (7th floor). Security does not care- I returned the next day and asked if they found anything? Their one guard said no...I traveled up to the top 12th floor and found some of my personal belongings in a staircase, partially burned (clothes taken out of my suit case). This is a serious warning to anyone in this garage: the stairways, especially floor 7 and above, are NOT SAFE and very unsanitary. Walking through them, I encounter several homeless people openly taking drugs. The security guard didn't even kick them out. He told me there are car break ins daily; he said it just "happens all the time". Please learn from me and park in the lower levels or avoid this garage. read more

Beware of Stockton Sutter garage rates! The other day we paid $10 for 75 minutes. We waited close to 10 minutes in the exit lane and when we finally got to the gate we were charge $5 more to get out! Not our fault if we were backed up and there were issues at the gates. Attendants ignored our complaint as well as those of others who ended up paying more.
