Outside building where obstetrics/midwives practice is (birthing center is behind this building)
Jess L.

The birthing center at Sutter Davis is an amazingly unique and special place to deliver a baby. I'm so thankful to have heard about this practice. Despite having to drive to Davis, I have no regrets about picking this spot for my prenatal care and delivery. For the vast majority of pregnancies (non high risk), their midwife practice will definitely do the trick. I made a point to meet most of the midwives, and I really liked each of them. I was comfortable with any of them delivering our baby. They were easy to talk to you, thorough, and assuaged any concerns I had along the way. They and the broader care team were also very responsive online and on-call. Ultimately, Jenn Taylor delivered our baby, and amusingly she was one of the few midwives I had not met during the regular prenatal appointments. However, she was awesome, and I'm so glad she was on duty when we went into labor. The vast majority of the staff we met in the birthing center during our stay, too, were really thorough and warm. The birthing center itself is really great. They are conscientious about evidence-based practices. They care about the details, like dimming the lights. You can also labor or birth in a birthing tub (though, note during this current covid19 pandemic, they temporarily do not allow the birthing tub for delivery, though you can labor in the tub). I enthusiastically recommend checking out the obstetrics and midwives practice here.

A Life Was Saved -- And We Will Never Forget It…read more There are moments in life when you meet a physician who is not just practicing medicine -- but answering a calling. That is who Dr. Jay Rathod is. My sister's condition shifted rapidly from stable to life-and-death. In those terrifying hours at Woodland Memorial Hospital, Dr. Rathod did something extraordinary. He did not simply follow protocol. He fought. He pushed relentlessly for her transfer to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto when others might have stopped. He advocated, escalated, persisted, and refused to accept "no" when her life literally depended on it. Because of his urgency and determination, she was airlifted to Stanford -- something we were told had never been accomplished before from Woodland Memorial. This wasn't routine care. This was someone fighting for my sister when it mattered most. I saw it in his eyes. I felt it in the room. That kind of advocacy changes outcomes, families, and lives. You cannot pay someone to care the way he cared. You could see it in his eyes -- his soul was invested. He did not treat her like a case. He treated her like a human being whose life mattered deeply. In my heart, I believe he is truly an angel. I also want to recognize Julie (RN). In the middle of chaos and uncertainty, she remained calm, attentive, and compassionate. As my family watched conditions change rapidly from bad to extremely worse and terrifying, she grounded us. She explained. She reassured. She moved with competence and grace. Her heart is gold, and her presence made an unbearable situation feel so much lighter in those moments of pure chaos. Sam and the entire nursing staff also showed care and professionalism that we will never forget. Every small act -- every check-in, every word, every adjustment -- mattered more than they know. This review is written with deep hope that ICU Manager Adrion Gudino and Director of Inpatient Services Celeste Sontoni see it, because leadership should know the caliber of professionals they have on their teams. Dr. Rathod saved my sister's life and Julie and the nursing team held our family together while he did. There are no words big enough for our gratitude -- but please know that what they did will echo through our family for the rest of our lives. With profound thanks and eternal gratitude, Gurveer Kandola

I mean they went through the normal procedures for patients who have chest pain, but to see how quickly they got her issue resolved was very impressive to me. Yes we stayed there from 6pm to about 10pm, but that tells me that they were very thorough. From the time we got there until the time we left they were very attentive to her. They took blood a couple of times and also did EKG's a couple of times as well. Being someone who just moved to the Folsom area, we weren't 100% sure on who to go with. They advised to have my wife follow up with her PCP due to they didnt find any Heart Attack symptoms. So let me start off by saying Thank you Mercy Hospital. Your Staff, your attentiveness to my wife didnt go unnoticed and it was very appreciated how well you cared for her. If we need any further Health Care, we will be back.

I had driven a 5 hour drive that day and my leg was just not feeling right when I arrived home. Better safe than sorry. This review is about the high points and low points of that visit. Every single one of the medical professionals with whom I came into contact were phenomenal. I am talking the doctors, nurses, u/s technician. The time arriving and departing was appropriate given it is an Emergency Department and I was not in any urgent medical state at that point. I interacted with two registration personnel during my time there. One when I entered the ER and the other at some point during my stay regarding further insurance information. These two employees were the most unprofessional people one could never hope to come into contact with during an emergency visit under any circumstance. It was like they selected the least customer savvy employees they could possibly find to put in critical positions. I was truly agast! Rude, barely able to put a grammatically correct sentence together and not an ounce of compassion nor kindness for the types of patients they were serving. I watched them as I waited demean patient after patient in utter shock. Now... there is no way Mercy Emergency Department management is unaware of these , pathetic, unskilled employees wreaking havoc on sick and, in some cases, frightened patients. There is no world where this would be acceptable behavior. I am certainly glad I am not a Dignity Health plan member. My Health Care Provider would never hire employees like these. What were they thinking? I have read Mercy's responses to some of these Yelp reviews. Embarrassing in my opinion. Better to not respond at all than write pathetic, patronizing dribble. Do better Dignity Health.

The rooms are conveniently connected into the nurse "hub", so you can call for attention as you need it. The staff had good bedside manner in talking to the visitors, although we noticed some balls being dropped in terms of how the patient was being serviced (e.g. not tying back down an arm restraint after a routine exam which led to the patient ripping off some of their equipment later on). Visitor hours are from 9 am - 9 pm although if you call ahead, they can put you on a 24 hour visiting list. There is a small coffee and pastry station open during the day and also small business vendors set up outside on the day we were here (Friday) to purchase other snacks and goods. Parking lot is big, we were able to easily find a spot. Security is quite lax though - you should get a visitor's badge every time you come in but we walked right in, not realizing we had to stop at the security desk and no one stopped us.

He exploits those who you love and I believe he may only be still there because he may pick and choose who he provides quality care. I have been a member of Kaiser, but not at South Sacramento for a pretty long time and I've never made any sort of review quite like this or any review towards Kaiser at all!!! I have been compelled to do this to warn those assigned to him! Next doctor is Jasmine Win- her ethics as a doctor is outrageous! It seems that this particular location doesn't hire doctors that care for patients. It seems like they might be so severely short staffed that they hire anyone that is willing to work there that happens to have a degree. I encourage you to avoid these two doctors by all means this doctor during our phone appointment didn't even want to go past 10 minutes as she told me that it was just a 10 minute phone appointment and that she had three other people that she needed to hurry up and get into and as she proceeded to tell me that she was looking at her clock and continue to interrupt me that I need to hurry up as this appointment was pretty much a waste of time for her! I am so outraged as the way I was treated that I am here today to literally make these reviews on both these doctors. I also checked out quite many of these yelp reviews and I see I'm not alone here with this particular Kaiser, so I encourage you to please avoid this Kaiser! I also had several extreme disappointments with their discharged department, their social services department their nurse station their phone operating system. This Kaiser seems to be so disorganized extremely busy that they do not have time for you. Your quality of care your needs you will be a burden to them I guess unless you have extreme amount of money time and patience! I have been a Kaiser patient off and on, and I stepped in to help a loved one who has Medi-Cal through Kaiser and seeing what they had to go through along with how I was treated helping them has made me during open enrollment no longer willing to have Kaiser!

Or call the front desk and explain the problem. I've never tried this but it may be necessary. I popped in on Thursday morning and there was no line for emergency. Miracle! The only thing the receptionist had to do was wave me through. The nurses were relaxed and friendly Even the paperwork had been tamed by technology. I spent about 2-3 hours there. Everyone was relaxed and friendly probably because it was just a whole bunch of tests and I most likely wouldn't drop on them suddenly. Sadly the tests failed to pinpoint the problem and they recommended, nay, commanded I go see a specialist. Unfortunately I've spent enough time in emergency rooms to realize this is common. They simply don't have time or expertise do anything except eliminate the most dangerous And urgent problems. All in all, the staff either met or exceeded expectations There is always a major bummer in the emergency room that stops you from feeling sorry for yourself. I wish that unknown woman next to me the very best.
