So, it's got to be the little things that you look out for. One of the things I really like about Michaels is the fact that they don't charge you for using a card. Great stuff when all you want is a bus pass in the morning. And it's open early. Not sure how early, but It's always been open when I've left the house. It's quite a big store for a local corner shop - so there is some choice when it comes to regular foodstuffs, and because it's pretty big it isn't one of those places that you're afraid to turn around while wearing a backpack in case you demolish an entire shelf. The staff are lovely, and thus far have never failed to call me Sir - even when I'm hungover, buying monster munch in shorts and a vest. So, a very nice shop indeed.

You can also buy your Oyster cards here or get a top up in the mornings. A word of warning though, there's usually huge queue on a Monday morning so either get it the night before or be prepared for a long wait - this has often made me late for work. I love this little newsagent's... it's always been really handy when passing through Clapham Junction.

He used to put a cheeky smile on my face before the journey and no amount of fanciness, ice cream or sweeties can make up for that. Especially considering the misery guts who has taken his place. Through my hobby of competition entering I've won several things from it including 4 top-priced tickets to Hairspray (one of the best West-End shows I've seen), The Railway Children tickets, ice-skating at The Tower of London, a pen from their crossword, 3 pairs of tickets to The Ritzy Cinema, Brixton and free photographic developing online through a sort of 'Secret South London' competition. Two sets of family tickets to Legoland and one set for Chessington World of Adventures has come through and I think at least one of these came from this paper. I've had tremendous value and fun from this newspaper and they also run prizes in their Tuesday edition. I have recently won a CV makeover worth £150 and been to a 'The Straits' concert at The O2 thanks to competitions in this newspaper//April 2012.
