I'll make a point to go on any and every trip to Mexico City. Huge menu, but it can all be trusted! Super fresh, high quality seafood. Original review 6/29/2024: Everything was delicious. The sashimi tuna belly was exquisite. We had a whole fish, can't remember what it was called but it was great. Solid kao soi. My one reservation is that the menu is really big instead of being more focused. That being said, everything we ate was fantastic.

Their ramen was rich with a complex depth of umami flavors which balanced perfectly with the springy noodles and tender pork. The bowl is massive but I could genuinely eat the whole thing! As a ramen connoisseur, I can proudly say that this is one of the best bowls I've ever had. And to end it all off, the Matcha Tiramisu was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. I absolutely love this spot!! Their service is fast and incredibly kind and joyful. Additionally, the ambiance is calming and feels high end but still with a quality of casual. You MUST try this spot if you admire amazing asian cuisine or want a break from tacos for dinner!

BEST SUSHI I'VE EVER HAD…read more Does that above statement say it all? Surprising to me as well as we just stumbled on this place craving sushi. First you have to walk through a restaurant then go upstairs and enter a door with no labels or anything. Then you're greeted with a 13 or so seater along a bar. From there you have to go omikase and just let the chef take care of you. Most memorable item was the scallop. It was the fattiest, butteriest, sweetest scallop I've ever had. Do not skip this place while in CDMX.

The tuna sashimi was outstanding. Thick immaculate cuts with freshness and flavor. The nigiri was impressive, with perfectly seasoned rice and beautifully sliced fish. The shrimp salad added a lighter refreshing contrast that was thoughtfully composed. Dessert was the perfect finale: soft, delicate mochi ice cream. This cleansed the palate without overwhelming it. From presentation to flavor, everything felt intentional and refined. Ryoshi is a mist-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality Japanese cuisine in Mexico City, especially in Polanco, where expectations are high and Ryoshi clearly rises to meet them.

Craving good sushi in the middle of land-locked Mexico City? We did and stopped at Tokyo for lunch…read morewhen the fast sushi place down the street didn't serve liquor my friend insisted was needed with his sushi. Tokyo is a fairly ordinary restaurant with several separate rooms that make dining more intimate. The sashimi lunch "special" was also fairly ordinary with an American-centric selection of the usual tuna, salmon, imitation crab, squid, etc. The sashimi was ok but nothing to yelp about. Maybe I shouldn't have expected more fresh fish variety from Mexican ocean waters? Service was the opposite of fast, and inattentive. Tables seated after us got to order first and received their dishes before us. We had to wave the wait staff down every time we needed them. Lunch took twice as long as we expected, so plan accordingly.

We sat at the bar where the chefs are right in front of you making the sushi, so we definitely had one of the best seats in the house. We started with the "Tuna+Crispy Rice+Kisami Nori," this was bomb! I really liked this dish, the contrasting textures and the fresh tuna. I also ordered the 5 peice nigiri sample (one of each: salmon, wagyu, hamachi, unagi and chutoro), this was also great, the stand out by far was the wagyu! Lastly I ordered a shrimp tempura roll; this was just okay to me and frankly the rolls were too big for my taste. Service was excellent and attentive; the restaurant itself has a dark and cool vibe and overall this is definitely a spot I would both recommend and go back to if I find myself in Mexico City again.

There was a waitress and 2 sushi chefs, and the plates each came out one at a time, with a full 10 minutes between each one. (Admittedly, there were lots of Uber Eats to go orders) The food itself was pretty unremarkable - the fish tasted like cheap frozen fare and the hand roll fell apart before it even reached my table (see photo).
