Wanted to mention this as food and taste buds obviously vary across the globe.* Sushi buffet in Mexico? Sure, I'm down to try, especially since the cost is 159 pesos (~$8 USD). Outdoor seating available (midst of COVID); it wasn't super busy as we came around the lunch hour, but tables gradually filled as our meal progressed. Place is casual; service was friendly, though it seemed to take a while to get the food from our 1st round of orders. There's a separate menu for the buffet (see pics) - you can select from appetizers, soups, rice dishes, salads, rolls, ice cream, and a few other items. It's not a buffet where you grab food from the counter; the items are made to order (that means food is cleaner, fresher, and more COVID friendly...whew). Each order of rolls is 8 to 10 pieces and the appetizer sizes vary. The gyoza came in a tiny order of 2 pieces, so you may want to order multiple if you have a group. Thoughts- Gyoza: Solid item, depending if it's fresh out of the fryer (our first batch wasn't as hot as the second). Small and comes with a dipping sauce. Brochetas Empanizadas: I had no idea what this was, but it's essentially a mozzarella stick (though it's not mozzarella cheese). Definitely one of my favorites at the buffet as it came out hot and fresh, was crispy, and the cheese is softer than your traditional mozzarella sticks. Only 1 stick comes in an order so order multiple. Miso soup: Standard miso soup. Since drinks cost extra and me being a cheap ass, this was my drink haha. They don't allow you to bring in outside drinks. I would have ordered alcohol, but there are currently some restrictions in Mexico City due to COVID. Ice cream: Yep, save room for this and get the ice cream with fried banana. You get a few slices of fried banana topped with your choice of ice cream from a few flavors. This was also one of the highlights as who doesn't like fried banana with ice cream?? Rolls: We randomly ordered from the menu (had about 20 rolls to choose from), so I won't go into the specifics of each roll as the taste starts to blur when you're stuffing yourself at a buffet. Overall, the quality of the rolls was average to slightly below average. If you're looking for upper mid range to high quality rolls, this ain't it. Some rolls had a tad too much rice and I noticed they really LOVE cream cheese in their rolls. Almost every roll had it. I regretted ordering the Philadelphia roll at the beginning as it added to the cream cheese overload. You won't find a ton of raw fish in their rolls, but you'll notice it here and there. We didn't get a chance to try the rice or noodles. Wished we had a chance to scope it out, but we didn't want to be stuffed with carbs that weren't sushi. Overall - come here if you're OK with average buffet grade sushi and/or you're hungry. The highlights for me weren't the sushi, but some of the appetizers and the ice cream. Still, $8 USD is a steal for AYCE sushi + other foods - just don't come with high expectations on quality for the rolls. I left satisfied, but the rolls won't be memorable. Skip the Philadelphia roll as you'll be cream cheesed out by the time you leave.

I ordered a shrimp tempura roll that had plantain on the outside of it. The roll was basically a ton of rice with a piece of plantain. The other ingredients could barely be seen or tasted. Once a spot opens up, they invite you in, and your food arrives within minutes. I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen and was in pure umami heaven. The noodles had the perfect consistency, and the broth was incredibly flavorful without being overpowering. I also tried the gyozas, which were more like mini fried empanadas...crispy, savory, and absolutely delicious. I'd definitely recommend this spot to any ramen lover. Very unfortunate as the broth and noodles were good! But the toppings were missed. After eating, we had to walk indoors to get someone to acknowledge we were finished and to pay and leave. The house made soy sauce was good and the bathroom & dining area clean. I would prefer too also not have the Odor or Smokers as if seated next to us. From the outside it looks like a cute spot from Japan which makes you feel like you teleported and the decor on the inside was very cute. The service was so great, everyone was nice and answered all my questions. From the moment I step foot inside they welcomed me in Japanese and Spanish which really gave to the teleporting vibe. The chef who did my omakase was so nice I wish I remembered his name but you can see him in the picture. His style of omakase was amazing and as we got to the end it just kept getting better and better. He had my dad and I saying "wow" over and over again. One of the courses that blew my mind was the fatty salmon nigiri with shaved frozen foie gras which gave it the perfect buttery texture wow. To top it off he gave us a Wagyu nigiri with uni on top which is literally butter on butter and I was so amazed. The other chef said wait till you try the eel with the foie gras and WOW like it just kept getting better and better. I left sooo full I couldn't finish my dessert even though it was delicious and I felt like I was going to explode so we walked around reforma. They have a pretty extensive menu ranging from cold dishes like sushi to hot dishes like Ramen and rice bowls from next door. We started with two appetizers, the Gyoza and the Shishito peppers. The shishito peppers were excellent, and had a flavor I had never quite experienced with them before from whatever sauce they were made in. They were very delicious. The Gyoza was also very tasty, and had a hint of ginger that was a nice addition. For my meal, I ordered a bunch of pieces of nigiri. Every piece came out perfectly fresh and incredibly made, for an absolutely delicious experience. We finished off with the Matcha tiramisu, a dish I wasn't even expecting to be so incredible. I would love to go back for it, although frankly I'd love to go back to this place for everything I ate tonight. We also shared the strawberry mochi, which was so good we ended up ordering a second one. I'm already looking forward to returning here. All of this that I mentioned, plus the rice bowl that my cousin ordered, was only $80. It is pricey, but less pricey than I was expecting.
