    BOM roll & Arizona roll
    Yoojin S.

We had some Resy credits to use and was so glad that this place was on Resy! Pretty tasty rolls. It was a good meal! ARIZONA ROLL Spicy hamachi inside and fresh hamachi on top. The hamachi was good quality and appreciated some thick slices. BOM ROLL Tuna, yellowtail, salmon, eel, tobiko with sweet sauce. Loved that this had fresh thick chunks of fish. Service was nice and fast. Lots of families too.

Ordered to go online. They were quick and easy to pick up. The sushi and fish tasted pretty fresh! A little on the pricier side however. agedashi tofu 4/5 Tasty and delicious. Had a ton of bonito flakes on top as well Amaebi 4/5 Great price for 2 pieces of amaebi. Tastes good but could've been sweeter. Love that they include the fried heads! Wish the heads were fried even more though cause the shell was a little hard to chew. Hamachi Kama 2/5 Super dry and hard to eat. Does come with grated daikon though. Arizona roll 5/5 Loved this roll. The hamachi was fresh and all the components blended well into one bite. Absolutely would get it again Rock n roll 4/5 Standard eel roll. Delicious Monster sushi deluxe 4/5 The nigiri tastes fresh and I enjoyed all the pieces. The ca roll wasn't overly mayonnaisey and it was a good amount of sushi for the price. Overall, I'm definitely coming back. Good fresh sushi and an ok price. Doesn't hurt that they are on resy as well!

    8 piece nigiri + 2 additional pieces

All the items on the menu are pretty pricey, but I am in Belmont so there's that. I ordered the Nabe Udon and it was small and very basic. Not much ingredients put it for it being $22. I also ordered the 8-piece assorted nigiri for $22 and the fish was fresh and nicely portioned. Made the visit when I needed to use up my resy credits. Ordered two items and already went over $50, and not even close to being full. Is it worth? Not really, but I will focus on the sashimi next time I need to utilize my Resy credits.

$19.99 Rainbow Roll 7 pcs: eel, crab, avocado, seeds, & sauce wrapped w/ mixed tuna, yellowtail, salmon, halibut, & tobiko

found this Korean-owned Japanese restaurant on AMEX's Resy credits list and came in on Monday evening of holiday week after Christmas to spend the credit card benefit before EOY. made a reso online for 2 ppl at 6:30p, it was PACKED when we arrived -- probably filled with many other diners with the same CC benefits, lol! took awhile to get seated at the bar; they were very busy and the staff very polite, apologetic and prompt as soon as they could get to us. What we ordered: $36.99 Sushi & Sashimi Combination 3 pcs CA roll, chef's choice of 5 pcs nigiri & sashimi (served w 1 miso soup) -- we asked that any tuna be replaced with red snapper, so we were served salmon, hamachi, red snapper, ebi, unagi. $12.99 Philadelphia Roll 6 pcs: smoked sake, avocado, & cream cheese $14.99 Jumangi 6 pcs: eel, scallops, nuts, green onion, sauce, & seeds $19.99 Rainbow Roll 7 pcs: eel, crab, avocado, seeds, & sauce wrapped w/ mixed tuna, yellowtail, salmon, halibut, & tobiko $1.99 pot of hot tea there's only 1 bathroom in the in the back of the restaurant and it's tiny; you have to walk through the rear section and past the kitchen, which might be difficult if you have elderly guests or babies who will require a diaper change during your meal. it was pricey for the portion size (typical for upper middle class suburbs) and the sushi rolling skills were a bit messy, but the fish was fresh and tasted good anyway. overall, we enjoyed our dinner catch-up, but there are many other similar places in the area for better value, so this probably won't be a repeat visit. appreciated how nice and hardworking all the staff was, and hope their business succeeds.

Sushi monster offers great sushi but also the most wonderful servers! I had such a fun dinning experience here and our server was a blast. She was joking with us with every interaction, recommended her favorite saki and ensured our sushi was both delicious and beautifully presented. They have an extensive sushi menu with lots of cute and creative rolls. I thought the Victoria secret one was hilarious. I don't actually eat fish, so I had the avocado rolls which were amazing as well as the edamame which was salted to perfection. The inside doesn't look like much, but I found the ambiance to be cozy and comfortable. It wasn't crowded when I came in, but clearly seemed to be a local favorite. I can't wait to try more sushi here!

Sushi monster is a happy place !! Parking is easy and not too terrible to get to from Daly City. The food here is excellent, fresh and filling. Two of the signature rolls are Godzilla and the caterpillar roll. Didn't quite look like the picture on the menu. But tasted excellent for the ingredients speak for themselves. We also had the fried squid tentacles. Hot and tasty. The Victoria secret roll took additional time 20 minutes more but our waitress told us when we ordered. This roll sounded good but , came out not too tasty. Service was on point. Hot tea to start and refilled when pot was empty. The staff also came around asking if everything was okay. Nice touch.

Sushi Monster definitely gives a mom & pops vibe, an) quiet and intimate restaurant to dine in or pickup food to go, great for rainy nights! (sits on main road of Ralston, parking the back, facing Safeway and walking distance to another Sushi joint called Kiroro Sushi). Came here last night to pick up a phone order and the quaint establishment was packed with couples and families. I ordered mainly from appetizer menu for myself. I ordered Hamachi Kama (not pictured...tasty without having to use soy sauce or use the lemon garnish). Sweet potato fries (you're given a handful) and miso soup (tasty albeit presented in a small to-go container) . Been here a few times in the past and they never disappoint. The employees are extremely nice and accommodating whether on the phone or at the restaurant. Def a good break from the competitors nearby like Kiroro Sushi, another favorite of mine. Come by for the food and service!

Stopped in on a cold, rainy day when we were walking around near the Belmont Caltrain Station. A very solid, local Japanese-Korean family-style place. Quite an extensive sushi menu (think your standard sushi rolls but they decorate the caterpillar, dragon, and Godzilla rolls!) but also tasty katsudon, curries, Korean-style ramen, bulgogi, tempura, etc. We tried the Korean ramen (think Shin or Jin ramen flavor), assorted tempura, and katsudon and everything was delicious and hit the spot on a cold day. Prices seemed a little high but we didn't mind supported a local business. Service was excellent and the waitstaff knew many customers by name! Definitely come give this a try if you're taking Caltrain or if you haven't had a chance to try it yet.

We went here a little after lunchtime and this place was busy. Inside was simply decorated. Every time someone enters, the whole crew happily greets you. It is definitely a welcoming vibe. I placed an order to go, and the 2 ladies there were happy to help. I ordered: 1. Teriyaki steak (dinner portion) - The teriyaki steak came with salad and miso soup. They told me the order was a bigger portion, which was perfect for my husband. I'm glad I ordered an extra order of rice, even after they said that the rice was more than enough. Sorry, we are filipino and love our rice, lol. The steak was super tender and flavorful. 2. Combo B2 (bul-gogi, beef teriyaki, bbq beef short rib, 3 pcs CA roll, and 2 pcs shrimp tempura) - This was perfect for me. A sampler of all the meats. All the meats were so tender, but all stood out in their own way. They didn't taste like they were marinated all in the same sauce if that makes sense. Each one stood out on their own. I loved it. The shrimp tempura was not the standard one that we all know. This one was light and crunchy. It's not soggy and greasy likeli how the other shrimp tempuras get. I wish I had ordered more rice because the portions were on point. 3. Gyoza - This was crispy and crunchy. Almost felt like it was deep fried and not pan-fried like other places. It was also a 2 biter for me, not where you usually pop a whole one in your mouth. 4. Spicy tuna roll - To my surprise, it wasn't spicy, but it was flavorful. 5. Godzilla roll - I think this is the standard dragon roll. Their dragon roll didn't have shrimp tempura. This was delicious. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back. The only bummer was that their credit card machine wasn't working when I went. Had to pay Venmo. Good thing I had Venmo. This place was a little pricy but well worth it.

good experience nice staff. My daughter loved the kids meal shrimp tempura. the edamame could use more salt but we enjoyed it. ambiance is casual and it's a small restaurant with extra parking in the back.

I ordered the Spider Ramen, which sounded unique and exciting on the menu, especially for something costing almost $22. Sadly, the flavor completely fell flat for me. The broth tasted bland and lacked the rich, comforting depth that makes ramen satisfying. I kept hoping the flavor would build up after a few bites, but it stayed underwhelming from start to finish. Honestly, I've had packaged noodles at home that were more flavorful and satisfying than this bowl. Even the egg in the ramen was disappointing. It didn't taste like a good quality ramen egg at all -- lacking flavor, richness, and that soft, well-marinated texture you usually expect from a proper ramen spot. It honestly felt like an afterthought rather than something carefully prepared. The shrimp tempura was another letdown. The shrimp pieces were extremely skinny with barely anything inside, so most bites tasted like fried batter instead of actual shrimp. Definitely not what I expected. The chicken karaage was the only dish that was decent. Crispy outside, tender inside, and probably the most enjoyable part of the meal, although still nothing particularly memorable. Service also could have been better. One staff member refilled my water twice without even lowering the pitcher close to the glass, causing water to splash all over the table both times. It may sound minor, but details like that really affect the overall dining experience, especially when the food itself already feels disappointing. Overall, for the price point, I expected much better quality, flavor, and attention to detail. Sadly, this visit did not live up to expectations and left me regretting my order more than enjoying it.

The decor is cute with many lucky cats near the entrance and around the sushi bar. Near the back there is a huge display kawaii, anime and robotech figures. I can see kids enjoying looking at them. Looks like they have a private room option that is narrow and long with many 2 seater table side by side, maybe they open it up when they get busy. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and I loved their choice of dishware. It truly is in the little details that make this restaurant feel that much more special. We didn't mind the wait as we ordered food that was made in the kitchen so that held us over while we waited for our rolls, but I did overhear the table next to me was getting very frustrated as they said they waited over an hour for their sushi. Wow everything was delicious. We loved the soko Soko special with all 6 different dons as it allowed us to try a little bit of everything. The rice made everything so filling. Their fish tasted so fresh. I definitely recommend the Halami Beef Tataki, cut and cooked so nicely, it was such a savory and flavorful bite. With that, I really enjoyed their skewers, cooked to perfection with the perfect char. We cannot wait to come back!

No "excuse me" just a direct "are you recording?" And without giving my friend a chance to explain that he wasn't (he is just a heavy Pokémon Goer), the server went on "no recording is allowed. You can't do that" Blah blah. There are clearly better and more professional ways to handle this. And assuming customers at fault is not. We ordered two hot plates and two Kaisen don at $60 each. Hot plates are good. Kaisen don is very sad. That's the least fresh toro and uni I have ever had. My friend is not used to complaining, but I decided not to swallow it. After some back and forth, they offered to replace the toro and uni. Although it's an okay gesture, my friend was not offered the replacement-- not even asking, while we ordered the same set. The replacement didn't come with the average freshness I have experienced, but better than the original. Then we started to look at google reviews, only to find out that the ikura included in the don was completely missing. It was offered after we complained. But again, no apologies. For an expensive item with clear description of the content in the menu, I don't know if it's a mistake or not. Btw, our Kaisen don doesn't look like their official picture at all.

I usually love rolls with mango, and this one was so fresh with a LOT of crab on top. I also liked the spicy crunch roll and noma roll as well. The bluefin lovers roll was surprisingly my least favorite - I had the highest expectations for this roll due to the seared bluefin tuna and the black truffle, but we felt like it ended up being too heavy and too much. I think it would've been better if it were just the bluefin tuna with truffle on top as sashimi, without the rice/roll part, but just my opinion. It wasn't fishy or difficult to eat at all, but incredibly rich and creamy. I'm obsessed!!! * Otoro (off menu): This was the star. It's made of lobster, shrimp tempura and a combo of eel sauce, spicy mayo, and tobiko - no need anymore dipping sauce cause they were just phenomenal * Kaisen: This was a refreshing roll - made of tuna, salmon, hamachi (yellowtail), and white tuna. Shiso (perilla) really enhanced the flavor of the fish and brought fresh taste that I think is the best pairing for any sushi/sashimi dish * Woodside Roll: This was the only miss for us. My first impression on Redwood City location was that it really lived up to the hype. We ordered deluxe chirashi, oh baby roll and house warm sake, more than enough to feed for 2 (and both stuffed). Deluxe chirasi was just insane. The fish quality definitely top notch, and you can taste that. It had sea urchins, hokkaido scallops, shrimp, salmon roe and 5 types of fish belly (my most favorite part of the fish). Every bite just literally melted in my mouth, and they were incredible fatty and delicious. You get what you pay for. Oh baby roll was also delicious, but luckily we tried it before the chirashi (or else it would turn into a disappointment - since the chirashi was phenomenal). It's just a basic roll, stuffed with ahi tuna and avocado topped with seared salmon, you can skip it if you want. House warm sake was a surprise. I like it more than I thought. It paired so well with the sushi. Service was fast even though they were busy. If you want high quality sushi and dont mind spending a bit more, this is the spot!

All the dishes are interesting and very flavorful, service is pretty quick as well. I've tried the Veggie Tempura and Agedashi Tofu from the bites section. Both are delicious even though these are fairly simple dishes, as expected. Tempura is oily as expected and is something which I skipped the next time to try some of the many nicer items they have to offer. It's crispy and delicious- and simple, what you'd expect from a tempura. All the vegan sushis are awesome and I especially liked their Veggie Tiger Roll and spicy veggie roll. None of the ingredients, like cream cheese overpower the flavors - everything is well balanced and each ingredient stands out uniquely on its own. Yum! It's a cute and small restaurant and they do not take reservations- only walk-ins. So I'd suggest going with some time in hand or going at an odd time. It wasn't too busy around 1:30 pm and we got a table for us pretty quickly. There's a big parking lot - so it isn't an issue there.
