Fair. The rice tasted a little hard and the shape was not like I'm used to after living 15 years in Japan.

I called to make sure they had table since we travelled with young children, but they were fully booked for the night. The person answered the phone sounded very nice over the phone so I decided to make reservation online for the next day, and I was glad I did. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience. The ambiance was fancy, definitely fit for a celebration/anniversary. I felt like we over ordered since we wanted to try many dishes here, but we didn't regret it. All the dishes were delicious. Service was okay. It could be better since it's pretty pricey here. Honestly, we were aware the dining service in Germany is different compared to the US so we didn't expect a top notch service. I would come back if I ever visited Frankfurt again.

The décor nice, casual enough for the price. We are on the patio because of the weather and Covid but inside looks really great also. The service was absolutely shocking. Bad, slow, rude so in reality I think management needs to pay attention but the cook's and all area's in the kitchen deserve 2 thumbs up. Will I go back? Maybe. Frankfurt has fabulous restaurants. Service is definitely very important to me. Make a reservation. Even in Covid the restaurant was packed and people were turned away.

Yes, they're owned by Japanese, but no, it doesn't mean it's authentic or good…read more We were super stoked to find a Japanese owned restaurant with stellar reviews near our hotel (Yay! No more sausages and potatoes!), but unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. We ordered the Christmas tree special for the 2 of us and it came with lots of rolls, but most of them tasted mediocre. Some of the raw fish weren't even fresh. Also, the sauces didn't go well with the sushi. Maybe my standards are too high because I'm from California. It's sad to say that the sushi at our Japanese supermarkets are better than this. Service was a bit slow, but our waiter was very polite and friendly. If you're looking for a quality Japanese restaurant, this isn't the place to be.

We headed over to Sakura and were immediately welcomed by the Japanese host. He was very patient and quickly arranged a table for us in their quaint covered courtyard. The fact that all 7 of us could drop in on a late Saturday afternoon with no reservation was amazing. Our waiter was at least tri-lingual and very attentive with our requests (not gonna lie...some people in this group are needy). Food arrived fairly quickly and was phenomenal. Some of the best sushi I have had in Europe! 10/10 will be back!

Very nice Japanese restaurant for a quick meal in Frankfurt, specially if you like kaiten-zushi…read more(conveyor belt sushi). We had a delicious unagidon (eel over rice), shrimps, some rolls and a warm sake. Service was quick and attentive and there were plenty of choices. It's not what I would call traditional, as there are lots of westernized and 'creative' sushi, but the food was very well done and we had a good time!

Sushiko is a nice little conveyor-belt sushi place in the heart of Sachsenhausen on Schweizer…read moreStrasse. Their sushi comes in 8 price-tiers, colour-coded to the plates they circulate on. For my money, Sushiko is better than their competitors on this level in Frankfurt like Sushi Circle, Sushi Live, etc. You can either pick-up from the conveyor belt or order fresh bento boxes, sushi rolls or tempura selections. Anything that you pick up that is intended to be eaten hot, a waiter will quickly spot you and warm the dish for you on the spot. The staff are very friendly and attentive and quick to help you out, which I really like. You can either sit counter-style, facing the belt or at some of their 4-person tables, all on high stools. They have good green tea and some nice, dry Japanese beers as well. Like any conveyor belt sushi joint, they throw some rather random curve balls into circulation like chocolate truffles, puddings and random western things that don't really belong. However, the selection of sushi and tempura is good and if you don't see what you want, just flag a waiter and it's made to order very quickly. The fish and overall quality is good for this type of restaurant - of course they don't try to compete with the higher end, more traditional places like Fujiwara. But for their niche, Sushi outshines others on the same playing field.

After quite a long sushi break, my husband and I had a craving again…read more I cracked the whip and the googeling machine presented me with this gem: Sushi Bagan. It is a small place just around the corner of the Allianz building in Sachsenhausen, but easy enough to find. They offer a sushi buffet for lunch and dinner, but do a la carte sushi as well. So far we have been there twice for the lunch buffet and 10,90 € will get you a wide selection of sushi goodness. I love the variety they offer. They have all kinds of rolls, maki and nigiri with raw seafood, cooked tuna and veggies. There is something for everybody. In addition, they also offer a small warm buffet with miso soup, steamed rice, fried rice, noodles, curry chicken, spicy chicken, some kind of beef dish, and shrimps. 3 types of ice cream will satisfy your sweet tooth at the end of your meal. Their service is good too. Very friendly people serve your drinks within 5 minutes. You pay on your way out directly at the cash register which suits me just fine. (I hate to wait for the bill anyways.) In conclusion: If you can do without sashimi, this is the place to go for good sushi at a great price.

They have different kinds and for sure something for everyone. They also offer fried rice, curry, shrimps and ice-cream. The staff is always friendly and you get greeted very politely. The bathrooms and the dining area is always clean. We have been there many many times, countless time in the past 5 years. The lunch and the dinner buffet, both of the experiences are amazing. Parking is not great but if you don't mind waking you will for sure find a parking spot. Tram is right in front of the restaurant, no complaints, favorite sushi spot

I really like the way ordering the menu by showing the purchased Groupon on my iPhone. We had a 3 course menu with Miso soup, Gyoza dumplings, luxury platter with fine selection of sushi and dessert. I first ordered the Sashimi Deluxe from the menu but was disappointed in the selection of fish--after checking the Yelp reviews and realizing that the next door kaitenzushi was connected and had a fuller selection, I queried the server. Luckily she was very sweet and spoke English. I was able to switch to the multi course (6 normally, but since I arrived late, 5) meal on an iPad menu. You choose up to four dishes per course or round and have 15 minutes before you can submit your next round of selections. There's a timer and you can't submit your next round until it zeros out. This was a new concept for me and I enjoyed the execution of it. It was way too much food if you try to maximize to 24 dishes--on round three I asked them to halve my portions to a single sushi nigiri piece each dish instead of the customary two. I wanted the variety, but not volume. I ended on round 4 and am still overly full hours later. The business model was neat and modern, the servers both very sweet and the portions generous, especially for 25.30 Euros which included my jasmine tea. The fish seemed fresh, but I would have liked to see a broader selection--I would be willing to pay an upcharge for hamachi, toro, and uni. The fried selection was not a full fledged izakaya menu but good sampling. The desserts were also a good sampling although more than the mochi, I really wanted small scoops of azuki or matcha ice cream. Four stars is appropriate for a value meal chock full of options tailored to more mass appeal in a tastefully modern setting with kind waitstaff.
