I got Sushi Ken via Uber Eats while I was staying at a hotel while visiting Newnan. Unfortunately, they didn't put any soy sauce packets in the order, nor did they put a spoon which made the udon soup difficult to eat and I basically had to eat the nigiri and roll dry. Really? Is it that hard to put in a spoon and soy sauce? Those things are kept right next to the chopsticks they included? Sushi was fresh but there's very little fish in the rolls. I ordered Sushi Ken through DoorDash pick up and was extremely satisfied with my experience. DoorDash said the order was estimated to be done in 15 minutes, but I head inside anyway to try to speed up the process. When I entered and said I had a DoorDash they said they were just boxing it up right then. Great! Very friendly service and speedy. I got two rolls and both were awesome. The sushi is really good. I usually order from here about 4 to 6 times a month. So far, I only get sushi. I haven't tried anything else.

I had Gyoza pork dumplings and a Poke bowl with a sushi rice base, tuna and ginger Ponzu sauce. Bowl also had carrot, crab, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese. All the food was excellent. I would've rated it a five if the waiter I've been worth a damn. I had to get up and go over to a counter and refill my own tea glass!!! I spoke with 4 year owner Ken, who is very personable. I ordered a fried roll a side salad and sashimi. when I got the fried roll, it was soggy almost stale feeling, I ordered it without cream cheese, it came with cream cheese. The salad didn't have anything on it, just iceburg lettuce and tahini ginger dressing. The Sashimi was not on rice like I thought, which is probably my assumption that I should have informed myself before ordering it, but I've had sashimi many many times before. When where seated , they advised us it was going to be a really long wait , because there was one other table (party of 6)... ok ..it's sushi how long can it take ? The prices where very high for a lunch menu , about $6 more for a bento box than Tokyo . Honestly they have no lunch specials like ALL the other restaurants in the area . Not the best sushi I've had in newnan. They use styrofoam boxes for take-out orders and the restaurant smells horribly of grease. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, and all I can say is I've had better sushi. Maybe it's because of the season, but the sushi wasn't fresh either. I would recommend Tomo Japanese restaurant if I had to give a recommendation to a friend for sushi places in newnan or anywhere else near Atlanta. Looks like they made good use of the space from Stevie bs. Right away, it smells of grease and cooking oils. I will always try the basic nigiri to gauge the quality of the fish. First off, I don't believe the fish was cold enough but it may have sat up there a while. The fish was old, maybe 4-5 days in the box. It looked old when I went to review the fish. The portions were small and do not order the eel. Very old! The chef left off an order of tamago from my order. The waitress had no idea it was a sushi bar product. I think she was waiting to see scrambled eggs come out! Hardly anyone in the place. I really don't know what to say about this in the end. I suppose time will tell if they last. Amazing food. Very traditional and everything was full of flavor. I'm only subtracting a star because I could have easily eaten more. Ordered tonkotsu ramen and pork gyoza via uber eats and the food was terrible. The ramen came with barely any broth. And once I tasted it, it was bad and I didn't eat it. And I wanted the gyoza steamed, but it showed up fried. Very disappointing and waste of money read more

I've lived in the Newnan area for about 8 months now. My wife and I love sushi and hibachi steak. Moving from Denver we where we had them everywhere, it was tough finish a spot in the Newnan area. We tried 4 different places and I've got to say, Sushi Ken is by far the best We've ever had! The food taste is so fresh and authentic that it's just the best you'll ever try! My roommate and her boyfriend have been raving about Sushi Ken for weeks. I decided I had to try it for myself. I can honestly say they have the best fried rice in town. It's everything you want with flavor and texture. It amazing. The sushi was great too! The customer service was super friendly. I told her what I wanted in my roll and she made great recommendations. Be careful when choosing to order from here. We found hair in our food last night. One long piece in the chicken shrimp fried rice and small pieces of hair in a side order of fried rice. The first time I ordered from them, I went in person to order. The chef does not wear a hair net. He wears a cap with hair not all the way in. No gloves were on. While cooking at one point, he walked away, pulled his mask down to take a drink and wiped his nose with the side of his arm and went back to cooking. I didn't see him wash his hands or anything. He didn't touch the food with his hands and we had already paid at that point. The time I found hair was my third or fourth time going and I called ahead, so no time to watch them cook. Also, the meat was way over cooked. The lady who makes sushi is pretty clean. She wears gloves and mask. The hostess is sweet. Hate to write a bad review but cleanliness is the utmost importance, not just during covid but even after and before. I won't be going back here. I may go only for the sushi since it's a different chef and she's off to the side and for reasons mentioned above. read more

Highly disappointed in Sushi Ken and Uber eats tonight. We ordered $50 worth of food through Uber eats, with a special request of chicken fried rice. 30 minutes after our dinner was supposed to be here (90 minutes after placing the order) I checked the status of my order and it said canceled. After calling the restaurant, they said, "oh yeah, we know that order. We cancelled it because you can't add chicken to the fried rice". I was then told that if I wanted chicken fried rice, I need to call and pick it up, I can't order it through Uber eats. I was never notified of this cancelation and now it is almost 9:00 on a Sunday and we are without dinner! I had no idea chicken fried rice was so hard to get at an Asian restaurant! read more

Overall a good experience, with great service. The sushi was super good . Prices ranging from $4-$13 for different rolls . Our table had the Newnan Roll, and E-Ka Roll which were both really good. In addition we also had shrimp fried rice , it was delicious too. pretty much it was fried rice w/ shrimp on top, typically at most places it would be mixed into the rice * it was still good nonetheless. Last was the ramen, it was unconventionally made compared to all the types of ramen I've had over the last few years . With that being said, it wasn't great . The broth was a bit bland, the shredded carrots ,baby corn , and strong ginger flavor really made it a bit off balanced for my taste buds. Plus the egg was supposed to be soft boiled , but it was hard boiled which gave it a eggy flavor ( not in a good way ) . The other food and service compensated for the bad ramen. OMG!!! EKA is back!!!! Everything I tasted on the menu (and I ordered a lot) was great quality and taste!!! The salad was the BEST salad I have ever tasted! Usually, I could take or leave the salad when I order hibachi, but I finished this entire bowl and wanted more! I also tried the seaweed salad that was amazing! I ordered hibachi chicken with vegetables and fried rice, and it was delicious!! My eyes were bigger than my stomach because I also ordered the Pink Lady and Sunday Morning sushi rolls. They were both fresh and yummy!!! My party of six all ordered a variety of food and everyone felt like their meal was the best at the table! read more

As another reviewer commented, there were only maybe two other customers when we came in. This was around 12:30. The three of us had Hibachi dinners. So, first off there is no lunch menu. When asked the waitress said she was told to point customers to the fried rice items if asked about a lunch menu. The dinners were $15 and were only entrees; if you want vegetables it's an extra $2. On the plus side the shrimp in the shrimp and chicken dish were very good (seasoning and cooked). The fried rice and salad were good. The mushroom soup had a flavor that was different than others we have had. The chicken was on the dry side like it had been cooked a little too long. To be fair we did not have sushi, so we can't comment on this. Bottom line for us is that it is too expensive for lunch, and being next to Walmart, you might expect a more inexpensive meal. My suggestion would be to cut down the entree portion size serve it with vegetables and lower the price for lunch. So, we exited with a $58 bill for three lunches (not including tip). We won't be back unless they offer a lunch at a reasonable price. Some of us are kind of blue collar type customers and can't afford this kind of meal. Not sure the business will last. read more
