Sushi Sun - The fresh portion of the tabla 2 order, sweet potato chips are a great touch

I ordered a 2 persona tabla, a Philadelphia roll, and 8 piece salmon sashimi. Yes, all for myself! They said it would take 30 minutes at most to fill the order but Chileans have a skewed perception of time and it turned out to be 45 minutes. I don't mind, might have been quicker if I ate there but maybe another day. Their Nigiri (regular sushi with the fish on top) was not impressive, I would instead get a bowl of rice and sashimi pieces because the amount of meat on top is very thin...so thin you pretty much taste only the massive amount of rice! The kanikama was barely edible-even on an empty stomach....but I also really don't enjoy imitation crab . Ebi tempura was delicious and the gyosa's were almost as good as the tempura but keep in mind they are more soggy than crisp. The regular rolls were very thick which made me happy, that is the best part of this place! Thick tabla order rolls where they don't skimp on the meat! The veggie roll was also very delicious. However, my Philadelphia roll was a huge disappointment because in the states a Philly roll is cream cheese and salmon wrapped in seaweed with rice but they put avocado and cream cheese inside, rolled rice around it, and then the thinnest salmon layer on the outside-like you can see through the salmon! But because I had the salmon sashimi, I was able to happily eat my "Philladelphia" roll. I know-Chileans love their palta so I should just get used to it being everywhere.

We have just been raving about it since we tried it. The menu was small but the food was fantastic and delicious. My girlfriend ordered a cheese pasta (spaetzleteig) that had onions, bacon, and came with a well-dressed salad. I ordered the most juicy, delicious pork chop with potatoes. The beers that you were serving that night were so epic that we still relish them and wish they could be bottled, exported or delivered right to our door, though we understand now thanks to your great explanation that they can't. They would not be as epic. One was a heavenly liquor of the gods, with a malty, sweet, balanced character that warmed the heart with its 7.5% alcohol. The other, a flirty, delivishly bready wheat beer that was light and refreshing as well as tasty. Also, the ambiance was friendly and really neat. The restaurant is in a very cool trendy neighborhood. We liked the money tree inside and the decorations, as well as your rough-cut wooden tables and hilarious stone chess board set. The projector Tv playing the Copa America games was the perfect finishing touch to a wintery night in Valparaiso, where a few locals among random study-abroad students could delight in unison in your beer and food.
