New management has made the right changes ... Great mix of Asian cuisines !!!! The sushi is fresh and tasty ... Though the Wasbi was a bit weak for my taste... The wild salmon is fresh and on point... Good cuts and a great serving size We also had some of the Korean dishes ... Bibimbap was delicious , crunchy rice and nice spice! Lunch here was all-in-all an enjoyable experience. Although I pine for the quality and pricing of Vancouver sushi restaurants, this location is indeed operating at an acceptable level in both areas. Service is provided in kimonos and wooden sandals, which may be a tad over the top these days, but is prompt and most pleasant. All food sampled to date has been good, although the tuna sashimi was room temperature warm, and somewhat less than firm. Definitely a repeatable experience. read more

Visited Fri Jan 29, 2016 party of 4 Pros No lineup on a Friday night, the place was 1/4 full. We ordered dynamite roll, assorted tempura, tuni and sockeye sashimi. The have 3 private booths, which gives that sense of privacy. Cons They didn't tell us we weren't supposed to drink the liquid from one of the dishes, it was a vinegar like taste. Protip - This place is much less busy that Nori, and the sushi is just as good. Damage $54 tip included. read more

Dishonest People! We ordered take-out and did not receive all of the things that we had ordered. An email through there website was returned by someone named Tiffany who applogized & stated that she would refund the missing portion from our order to my credit card that day. 3-weeks later, no credit. I contacted them again. This time they are stating that my order was complete & that my kids probably ate the sushi without telling me!?!? They are now offering a $10 credit towards our next order?!? I cannot beleive how terrible this service is. This place is not honest. Please do not patronize these people. read more

Went in for their Saturday All you can eat. It is setup like a buffet. Problem is there is very little food in there probably because it is COLD. We were starving so we ate what we could. When we were asked how we were doing, we complained the food was cold or non-existent. When we left to pay I brought it up again that the food was cold and was told "Well you ate it" I will never go back there, very disappointing nothing like any of the other Japanese restaurants I have been to before. read more

Meh... Nothing that special here... I was not impressed with thee quality of the sushi and the prices. Be forewarned that if you go for lunch it may be a long wait unless you order the lunch special. This used to be a good restaurant. I think they might have changed hands last year. I was there last summer and I was told they were changing the menu. They had begun to add other Asian food that was not Japanese. The Sushi I had then was good. Tonight it was a different story. They have a different menu without many of the favourites I am used to in a Sushi restaurant. The Miso soup was watery. The noodles were chewy. The rice did not stick together in any of the dishes. My tuna was most definitely not fresh. It was obvious from looking at it. I was afraid to eat it. My biggest problem was the wasabi. The chef added wasabi to the food between the fish and rice. I have eaten sushi in dozens of places and never encountered that. I must add that my teriyaki chicken was very flavourful and my tempura was good. I spoke to the manager about the wasabi and he said they have a new chef and that is his style. He assured me it will stop. (I have a medical condition that is aggravated by spicy food). He did give me a small discount for the food I was unable to eat due to the wasabi. The service was fast and friendly and prices are reasonable. read more

terribly disappointing, was so looking forward to the reopen. The prawn tempura was great but it was downhill from there. The pork gyoza were undercooked, the toro (fresh tuna) was not fresh and went back, the salmon/philadelphia roll was not fresh fish and went back, the chicken in the teryiaki chicken and the chicken udon was not cooked in hot enough pan/oil and was very covered in corn starch. Ownership of this restaurant changed hands in November 2013 and it is a wonderful place now. The owner comes fro Beijing and there is a Japanese chef and a Chinese chef, so you have both options. The Chinese food is excellent, with some unusual, authentic dishes. The Sushi is very good, as are the gyoza and other Japanese dishes. Nice decor and family run feeling. read more

I took my wife for dinner on Valentines Day but the dining experience was less than favorable. Upon arrival we were immediatly seated but waited about 10 minutes before the menu arrived. We both decided on the all you can eat sushi, placed an order for 4 items which arrived at the table 35 minutes later. The waitress didn't bring plates, wasabi or ginger to the table for another 10 minutes. One of the items was Teriaki beef which was so cold it must have come directly out of the cooler onto the plate, it arrived about 10 minutes later only after making a brief stop at another table and the lady advised the waitress she didn't order it. We immediately placed another order for 4 more items. After waiting for 65 minutes and asking the waitress where our food was she brings us another order form and claims she lost our food order. At this point we ask to speak with the manager, who really doesn't care that we've waited for over an hour. In the end we pay for one meal and head for the store to purchase grocery store sushi and go home to finish our meal. Our impression is they intentionally make you wait to ensure you don't eat to much. This was confirmed by co-workers who had similar experiences in the past. This is the first time I have ever written a review but felt others should know about the poor service so they could support those restuarants who are honest operators. read more
