I recently lucked out on snagged an OG Ibanez AFR-105 (IYKYK). Took it in to Jeff for a once over, a stacked knob issue, and a pro set up and it came back looking and sounding amazing! Plus I got the added peace of mind knowing my vintage bass was in proper working order. Most recently I took him a non-multiscale bass for a set up in drop F#. Granted, it was a very well built bass and the neck was capable, but he took to the challenge like an eager kid and knocked it out of the park! Not only that but he kept in constant contact with me throughout the process (it took longer than expected due to the difficulty of the request). Their prices for work are on par with most shops out there, so you're not even paying extra for the quality you get here. If Jeff ever leaves I'll follow him to his next place. He took the time to examine my Alto Sax that caused me 4 trips and almost $250.00 at Oberloh Woodwind and Brass Works and the Sax was still not functioning as before. I was treated in a very professional manner. Eli looked at the Sax and advise me that the cork needs replacement soon and he un-did some of the tightening done by the folks at Oberloh. RESULTS? Our son (9 y/o) has been taking drum lessons there the past 7 months and has gone from a true beginner to playing songs together in a band with his peers. This is a combination of 1:1 weekly practice with an instructor at SoR (each has been fantastic with emailed notes after every session on recap and focus areas) and a weekly 90-minute band practice which he loves. For us, it was before, we went in with the idea that the my daughter and her young guest for the show could play together before the concert, getting out some energy and that first half hour of pure joy of seeing each other outside of preschool. The space was fun, not huge, but really great options- an electronic piano (with headphones), a cello and stand up bass were the big hits for the two girls, with a drum game of trying to pound the little wooden frog off the top also winning repetitive play. One of the staff members was really nice and friendly with the girls, immediately learning their names and giving them tips and encouragement to play the cello and bass with the bow. Why not more stars? For us, at almost 5, the girls were bored after about 45 minutes, but younger kids could have likely stayed longer so if this had been last year, for our needs, it would have been bumped up. There was also a class being held but the door was open to it at one point so the girls wandered in, the teacher was pretty 'sharp' getting them to leave, he did apologize to us parents that they couldn't be in there but the harshness towards the kids wasn't required, as soon as we- the parents- realized it wasn't an open event, we moved them out quickly. The person at the front desk might have just told us there was a class going on as well as better signage so the girls didn't feel chastised for something that wasn't clearly communicated.

I needed to pull back on all extra commitments for a while. I asked to pause my ongoing lessons and ...guess what? Because I can't take the lessons right now, I LOSE THEM, per company policy. $200 down the drain on these folks. This is terrible customer service and very bad business practice (if not illegal). Trust Pilot and BBB are my next stops.
