Susan has performed for our Holiday events for the last several years. We hire entertainers for events all year around and I can honestly say there is never an easier or more pleasurable and professional entertainer that we work with. Her sound is perfect. she has a compact system that we need in our large facility at the Port of Seattle, yet it is not loud and obtrusive. We love having her and plan to hire her for more events going forward. read more

Susan Haas Harpist - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me

I loved having Susan play for our July wedding at St. Patrick Church in Tacoma! She was absolutely wonderful. I found her reviews to be accurate thanks to Yelp and Wedding Wire. We conversed over e-mail and she was quick to respond. For our consultation, we met at her home in Tacoma to go over music selections and as a musician myself, I had a lot of ideas.. with the exception of one song, she was open to all of them and played 3 songs specifically for my ceremony plus many others I chose from her list of selections on the website. Speaking of: I LOVE that Susan has sound clips to listen to on her website! How lovely to listen while doing other wedding research :) I asked for such favorites as More Than Words by Extreme, I'll Be There by the Jackson Five for family processional, some Sound of Music. She sounded great playing all of them and even had different methods to offer (more legato, more bass, etc etc). Susan arrived on our wedding day on time with her gorgeous harp. I like that she also asked me what colors I'd like her to wear -- how thoughtful. The cost was more expensive than expected - $400 for just the ceremony (playing 20 minutes before plus the processional) and for one consultation, but she did a beautiful job and I'm so glad we had harp as apart of our ceremony. read more

Susan Haas www.soloharp.com October 12, 2019 Let me tell you a fun story... My wife's favorite instrument is the harp and I decided to surprise her with solo harp music during the dinner portion of our wedding reception at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, WA on October 12, 2019. I could not have asked for a more willing and talented partner in this escapade than Susan Haas. Since the Edgewater ballroom was the site of both our wedding ceremony and the dinner reception - with an intervening cocktail hour on the adjoining terrace - Susan arranged to secretly sneak into the ballroom for her setup and preparation during the cocktail hour. No one knew! Much to my wife's chagrin of not wanting to make a grand entrance, I was able to convince her we should enter the ballroom last, after all guests were seated for dinner. When we did so, we made our way to the dance floor where my wife was greeted by Susan and her beautiful harp and one of my wife's favorite songs. It was a total surprise and a perfect moment, among many that day! Susan's stand-alone sound system and her extensive playlist made for a phenomenal evening and we could not be more grateful for her flawless performance. We collaborated on every song choice to ensure my wife heard one favorite after another, ending with an incredible medley from her favorite movie: The Sound of Music. Whatever your needs, I promise you will be glad you selected Susan for her gracious and helpful personality, and especially her music. Thank you Susan for an incredible memory! read more

Susan was such a delightful addition to our event and really added a lovely touch to the whole ambience. In all my years of planning events at Microsoft this was the first time I hired a harpist and have to say she was worth every bit! She was super easy and pleasant to work with. First off, let me talk about Susan as a person. Susan was amazing to work with. When other harpists had turned us down due to the nature of our music requests, Susan was there to save the day. She was super personable with my future bride and I. From the beginning planning phase of the wedding to the end of the ceremony she was upbeat and wonderful. We had custom videogame music that she was able to learn quickly and beautifully. She helped us figure out everything we needed for our June wedding and was always available on the phone and email. She was very flexible in all areas and made everything just work. We had compliments the entire wedding about how much they liked the music she played. She knew exactly what we wanted to hear based on the song suggestions we gave her to build off of. Not to mention how beautiful she sounds at the helm of her pedal harp! If you want a kind, helpful person to handle the music at your ceremony or cocktail hour, my wife and I cannot recommend Susan W. Haas more. Worth every penny. =D read more

Susan did a marvelous job, this was the perfect addition to our wedding. Susan was so flexible, gave us a thorough preview of the music, helped us select our songs, and we were even able to hire her for an hour during our reception as well. We also had her bring a cellist along, and it was the perfect duet. There is a reason she is a Knot pick vendor, she is FANTASTIC! Highly recommended, and well worth the $ read more

Susan played at our wedding for the ceremony and cocktail, and she was really great to work with! She played the harp/cello duo with Nicole Williams. She is super responsive to emails, and very helpful with questions. As an overwhelmed bride, it was just really awesome working with her! We had a few special requests that she accommodated and played beautifully with Nicole during our wedding. She worked with us to figure out exactly which songs to play at which part of the ceremony, and what kind of music we would like at the cocktail hour. That was so helpful! I would definitely hire her over again. We're very happy with how the music turned out so beautifully in our wedding! It was definitely a great touch to our wedding! read more

The Puget Sound Chapter of the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA), is part of an international network of professionals who build skills, share practical experience and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies, including microsystems, emerging technologies, and related business operations. We had a very successful year and wanted to share the rewards of hard work and tenacity with our local members. We held a wine tasting/summer social event in Woodinville at a small local winery's tasting room. Susan was contracted to play during our two hour soiree, selected from several harpists in the Greater Seattle area based on the sample recordings on their websites. It was quite clear she had the broadest repertoire and most professional sound of all those we had "auditioned". The price, although not the least expensive, was well worth every penny. Susan arrived early (quite the feat for ANY musician, especially in Seattle traffic!) and very quickly assessed the best location in the venue for her location. She moved her equipment (including special lighting) in seemingly effortlessly and was set up well ahead of "show time". Susan's personality is as bright and pleasant as her performance! She took time to explain the complexities of her instrument to those who had asked questions and played a very broad spectrum of music ranging from "classics" to classic rock, even a little "heavy metal"! Of course, she played a few requests , including the ever popular "Freebird" and "Stairway to Heaven" ! Not surprisingly, the rich colorful tones of the harp set a soft yet festive mood which paired nicely with the wine selections! It was the perfect choice for both a background which conversation could be had without straining, as well as a very enriched listening experience which I credit to Susan's incredible talent. We anticipate holding future social events with our organization, and would unquestionably request Susan as our "entertainer of choice". I encourage you to do so, as well! Susan performed all the music for our ceremony and she was fantastic! We ended up having an issue with the shuttle we booked and so a bunch of our guests showed up about thirty minutes late. Susan kept playing beautiful music all the way up until I walked down the aisle. I'm so glad we chose live music for our ceremony! Susan was incredibly professional and had a ton of music to chose from. She even learned a new song for our recessional. She's super fun to work with and always gets back to you whether its via phone or email. read more
