Laura was recommended to us as a top agent in the DMV area with impressive transaction volume each year. Although we identified multiple agents through our search, we immediately decided to work with Laura after our initial video call because we were impressed by her knowledge of the local housing market and all aspects of real estate transaction. We are so grateful that we did! We were buying a condo in a very competitive area. Every time when we made an offer, we had a competing offer and had to act very quickly to make our offer more competitive. Laura worked around the clock to prepare the comparative market analysis, tour the units with us, crafted and advised us on compelling offer terms and negotiated with the seller agents. Our closing had some extra complexities due to the condo building's financing approval being expired. Laura skillfully helped us navigate this issue. She proactively included relevant language in our offer to protect us from such financing issue before we even knew there was an issue with the condo building. After we discovered the issue, Laura was in constant communication with the seller's agent, condo building and mortgage broker to speedily resolve the issue and ensure we could close on time within 3 weeks. Laura's price prediction and recommendations were spot on when we submitted our offer. She recommended us to adjust our offer to a certain price to increase our chance of sealing the deal at our offer price (instead of activating the price escalation clause and resulting in us paying a higher price). We were able to be the winning offer because of Laura's excellent communication skills and expert advice. We followed Laura's recommendation and did not have to pay more than our offer price for the condo. The appraisal ended up being higher than our purchase price. We are grateful that Laura helped us secure our dream home at a great price. Laura was extremely responsive and patient. We had a lot of questions as first-time home buyers. Laura patiently answered all of our questions at any time of the day. Despite her busy schedule, she accommodated our challenging schedules and requests under short notice every single time, which enabled us to close our home with great success. We could not have asked for a better realtor to share this home purchase journey with. Thank you Laura for being an outstanding, caring and dedicated realtor!

Obtaining the services of a real estate agent is much more than "finding someone to sell your…read morehome". This is especially true if you are selling an inherited property as I was earlier this year. A good real estate agent will know the area, know the laws and rules and will help assess your home and get it listed and sold for a "good price". A great real estate agent is a counselor, a partner in your effort, someone who "has your back" throughout the process in addition to doing all of the real estate work. Philippa Main is an *outstanding* real estate agent and an even better person. My father passed away leaving a home in Woodbridge, Virginia - the home in which I grew up and which contained almost 50 years of possessions. I contacted Philippa in March of 2026 to discuss its potential sale even as the house was in significant disarray while I engaged in the slow process of cleaning it out and sorting through the many things my parents had accumulated over the years. When she visited the home, I looked around and threw up my hands. Philippa looked around and said, "we can make this happen." I sought her out specifically because she mentioned having expertise in sales of homes that are inherited - a particular niche that involves a delicate dance of handling family dynamics, wills, probate laws and determining what, if any, money should be put into renovations or improvements that will get a reasonable return on the investment. From our first conversation over the phone - which she took time to do in the middle of a busy weekend - Philippa was incredibly personable, easy to talk to and anticipated many of my questions and many of my concerns as we talked. By the end of our conversation, I felt like I was chatting with a friend who had expertise I needed. Over the following three months, she was a (rapidly-responded-to) text or phone call away as I navigated getting the house ready for sale. She helped outline a schedule and a plan to list the home. She connected me with a large network of trusted service providers from junk removers to contractors to painters to flooring experts from whom I obtained estimates and some of whom I contracted to help clear out the house and prepare it for sale. While she always reiterated that she would back any decision I made regarding the house, I always sought her counsel when making major decisions such as whether or not to spend money on renovations and, if so, which ones were most important. Of course, there were obstacles - some amusing, some less-so - but Philippa helped me handle each one with a confidence borne of having "seen it before". That is an incredibly valuable thing when dealing with a stressful situation. In the end, the home was listed in June and had nearly seventy showings in three days. The house sold for well over its asking price and after all of it I know some things: The home could have been sold by another agent. But few, if any, others could have been a partner in the process the way Philippa was for me. She was a trusted resource, a confidant, a person who knew when to inject humor into a situation and when helping me vent was what was needed - she understands people and the process of selling an inherited home in addition to being a brilliant real estate agent who knows the area and who knows how to get the job done. I couldn't recommend her more for ANY real estate work but, especially, if you face the task of preparing and selling an inherited property.

It's been a few years since my last review and PJ is still our go-to realtor in the Northern VA…read morearea. This time around he represented my mom in selling her house (and I as her unofficial project manager/liaison) in the craziest seller's market we've encountered in recent years (May 2022). Since working with PJ last, his expertise in the area, the market, the regulations, and in negotiations have only grown. However, what has not changed is his kindness, patience, and desire to put his clients' best interest first. In this case, PJ helped my mom and I navigate through the selling process in such a crazy market and through a multiple offer situation. PJ advised on a selling strategy that he predicted would get my mom the best deal and within the ball park price she was looking to sell the house for. This included some repairs and renovations to the home we needed to do in order for the house to look as presentable as possible to sell. PJ helped us determine and prioritize only the necessary renovations needed so that we could take advantage of the hot seller's market before the next interest rate hike, rather than wait for a full-scale renovation to be completed (because who knows how long that could take?). Did I mention that my mom has retired and resides oversees and I'm still in California?? So, during the times I couldn't be present in VA to oversee the work being done by our general contractor + other contractors, PJ would happily step up to the plate to be present for our home improvement team and cover any new costs incurred. This also meant PJ had to work through an 11-hour time difference with my mom and a 3-hour time difference with me from a communication standpoint, and he absolutely did it with ease and so much patience! In the end, all the renovations he suggested made a significant difference to give the home a much needed facelift, all the while saving my mom tens of thousands of dollars that she initially had planned to spend on updates. Once the house was ready to be listed, it was GO-time and PJ really worked his magic. His marketing for the house was top-notch and he had the most beautiful photographs taken with the home digitally staged. I'm a professional photographer and even I could hardly tell that the photos had fake furniture haha. In addition to other photo and video assets he had produced by his talented creative team, he also was able to spread the word about the house within his network a few days before even listing it on the MLS. All of this was highly effective because in only 4 days of being listed, we had 130+ groups tour the home, over 10 offers sent to us, and a bidding war situation! By the 5th day of being listed, negotiations were underway between the top 3 offers and finally on the 6th day, we had selected an incredible offer and was officially under contract! When I say incredible I really mean it - almost 200k over asking price, no contingencies, and a 3-week close!!!! The entire time while in escrow was smooth sailing and everything happened as expected. This was everything and more than what my mom and I could have hoped for, and it was all due to PJ's guidance and help! After having worked with PJ throughout the years on several occasions now, I can attest PJ is more than your average realtor! He genuinely cares about his clients and will go out of his way to support them! Real estate is more than his career, it is his passion and you can see it and feel it in his energy. He truly loves what he does and he loves to help people accomplish all their real estate goals! HE IS THE PERSON WHO HELP US TO FIND THE HOUSE JUST WITHIN THE 2nd OFFER in NICE AREA! My husband and I met Franky at one of the open houses in Washington DC. At that time, we didn't have any idea about the home-purchasing process. Even Though we searched online, we still got lost since we didn't know what the first step was and what our priority was. Franky helped us to understand the overall process, and encouraged us to think about our future life to set the goal of home-purchasing. Even Though we were not his clients at the moment, he gave us a 1-hour presentation of the whole process with the pamphlet. When we decided to go with Franky, he tried his best for us to find our FIRST HOME with some of our considerations. Since both of us work full-time, he made house-tour appointments or meetings (regarding making offers) after work hours. After our offer was accepted, Franky and his team gave sufficient advice regarding everything, such as locking the mortgage, depositing, final walk through, and the settlement! It took only 6 weeks to move into the new home since we started to look at the house to buy. As you can see my name, I am a foreigner and the whole process seemed overwhelming for me. However, Franky helped my husband and I to relieve the stress by communicating with the selling agent and title company. (Oh, I heard that he speaks English as well as Spanish). If my friend who came from foreign country asks me to recommend any agent, I will recommend FRANKY and his team! I am writing this review in my new, cozy room, where I dreamed about since I immigrated here. I can convince that if you work with Franky, you will never regret.

In any case, I really liked the house and submitted my application the same day (Saturday). The next day (Sunday), I received written confirmation from Claudia that my application was approved by the landlord. On Monday, I received the lease agreement and we spent the day going back and forth on questions/edits. The following morning (Tuesday), Claudia called me urging me to sign the lease because she was getting more showing requests (no mention of other applicants). I thanked her for answering my questions, confirmed I was ready to sign, and did so early that same afternoon. Upon signing, I gave my notice to my current leasing office (breaking my lease). Then...radio silence from Claudia. The next afternoon (Wednesday) I reached out to confirm next steps. An hour or so passed before I received a text back: "I am really sorry, but the landlord decided to go with another applicant after all." I understand that Claudia was representing the landlord's interests in this case and not my own, but I would hope and expect that any real estate agent would have the professional courtesy and integrity to do right by all parties involved. My detrimental reliance on Claudia's misrepresentation has put me out thousands of dollars in early termination fees and left me without a place to live. I would not trust this person to advocate on my behalf and hope this review saves someone from enduring a similar experience with her in the future.

Shanika is knowledgeable about neighborhoods, real estate trends, and very well connected. Not to mention, has a confident ease and very personable. You can see that Shanika wants you to find your home, more than just make a sale. Early on, I said I was willing to look and live all over DC, but really wanted to stay in NW, love natural light, wanted a 2bd condo and near "things". (I don't have a car). Shanika listened to me, watched carefully when we went to see condos, started to underhand my likes and dislikes, and never made me feel silly with all my questions and lack of knowledge. We communicated regularly via text/phone and using a particular app, she was able to see they types of places I was interested in. I saw a condo that was going on the market in a few days, we saw it before it went live... and the rest is history. The Coalition Properties Team hand held me( literally) through the entire process. I was also getting EHAP/HPAP monies making it a bit more difficult. They were on it. I was so impressed and thankful. I also love that they work with and support many black owned businesses and contacts. (Shoutout to Tracey on the closing team at coalition, Kendall my lender, and Sheldon the inspector!)
