Since my primary care said I still needed a workup by a urologist I said no to his referral and went out on my own. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kane who is a Urogynecologist. Dr. Kane's office started my appointment off right by being very professional. Then I met Dr. Kane and instantly knew I was in good hands. For the problem that I was having she wanted to take a urine specimen via catheter rather than a simple cup specimen so there was no chance of contamination. She prescribed two medicines that she thought appropriate for my complaints and scheduled a recheck in one month. When the urine culture came back she also said I needed an appointment with a urologist. She had her nurse tell me who the referral would be with. Unfortunately the doctor Dr. Kane wanted to refer me to was part of a large group under the name of First Urology and they told Dr. Kane's scheduler that since I had seen another doctor in that group I would have to stay with the original doctor. They went ahead and scheduled that appointment and called me to advise me of the situation. I immediately told Dr. Kane's scheduler that I would be cancelling that appointment and find a urologist that was not part of First Urology. I would be returning to Dr. Kane for my one month follow-up. Dr. Kane and her staff were very understanding of my desire to go elsewhere. When I returned to Dr. Kane for my one month visit all went well and I advised her of the urologist I was seeing. That urologist would be sending a report to Dr. Kane. I am so pleased that I found Dr. Kane and would not hesitate to recommend her to my friends. She truly is WOOHOO - AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

I had a vasectomy, they were extremely thorough in pre op, during the procedure,and post procedure. He made constant jokes throughout the procedure to make me and wife feel at ease. He was done in about 20 minutes. My pain was minimal. The staff truly enjoy working there. And makes a total difference when the workers are happy. Whenever I walk into the Spring Medical Center I am proud to be an America. Yeah, sounds corny but hey, we are so blessed to live in a country with such beautiful medical facilities equipped with such talented people. We were told that even though Dr. Adkins wasn't there, the attending doctor had already been in contact with Dr. Adkins. It didn't look good and they admitted him into the hospital. The following day Dr. Adkins arrived. He was approachable, with good bedside manners. Why is that so hard to find lately?! This was my first experience with any Urologist or any urology issues, so I had a lot of questions. Dr. Adkins was never annoyed and throughly answered each question that I had. He explained that his schedule was full for the day, full of scheduled surgeries, but he was willing to work Dad's surgery in at the end of his day! So he took the call from the ER department the late night prior, and is now going to stay late to perform the procedure. I was so grateful, but still nervous at the severity and it was apparent that time was of the essence. After the microscopic procedure, Dr. Adkins came out to the waiting room and explained that it was merely a blood clot. Not the tumor that we had prepared for. Literally. One. Of. The happiest days of my life. To say that my dad is my world, is an understatement. He was certainly in good hands with Dr. Adkins and I recommend him to anyone looking for a Urologist. Oh, I had more questions, sometimes asking several questions at once, I was so giddy... he was quick to answer all three of the questions without missing a beat or forgetting to move on to my next question.
