We actually ended up making a dish arrangement in a tall vase. The studio is also very relaxed, and spacious - also think you can rent it out to do private events (showers, etc.) and order in food/drink. We signed up online a couple of weeks in advance and lucked out in getting a private on a Tuesday night at 6:30p. Kaitlin was very nice, professional, prompt. Before class began, she went over basic information such as lingo around floral arrangement terms, tools, where to buy flowers, type of arrangments etc. When we begin creating our arrangement, we went over the structure of the elements. How to construct, use your tools, etc. The plus about the classes here is that they are recreational, not for professional florists or aspiring so there is no rigor about sticking to a particular aesthetic. When we were done, Kaitlin was nice about taking photos, and helped us pack up our (big) arrangements in easy to carry bags. Another plus is you don't need to bring anything - she supplies the flowers, vase and vessel. Class was about two hours. The only room for improvement I have would be to have a handout as I was trying to take lots of notes during the class. Overall, very much recommend and will come back for more classes - tabletop and bud arrangements and sometimes there were guest teachers that teach other things like flower crowns.

Prior to that we'd been on other photo trips with noted photographers like Ken Rockwell, but NYC Photo Safari offered much more detailed "hands-on" instruction and feedback about our shots. It was a very fulfilling experience and after three hours we had more great shots than we ever got during three days of shooting elsewhere. Since then we've gone on almost all of the safaris; e.g., Iconic NY Parts 1&2, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and Composition Boot Camp. The pictures we captured were good enough that we've printed and sold many of them. Another interesting aspect of these tours is that they attract interesting people from all over the world. A few months ago we completed a recent nighttime 3-1/2 Bridges Tour that involved taking just about every mode of transit NYC has to offer. Again it was a superb time and yielded a bevy of presentation-quality, marketable images.

Each day, the photo sessions started at 12:30 pm and ended approximately 10:30 pm each evening touring every part of Manhattan in every direction. It sounds like alot but each day just flew by. The instructors were incredibly professional and patient. They imparted their vast photographic knowledge, taking their time to explain the composition and reason/purpose of each shot. It was a lot of information and I definitely grow as a photographer. I want give big thank you Zim, who took her time to answer all of my question not matter how insignificant. She help me "think outside the box" to examine some of my preconceived ideas and in a new light (no pun intended...not). Thank you, Thank you Zim for opening eyes and ears and to new ideas and images. Your generosity and support was very much appreciated. Anyone who is thinking of taking a 3 hours or 3 day session with NYC Photo Safari, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy !!!

Traffic Club, also known as Traffic Toastmasters, has a welcoming, supportive, action based learning environment, that is really focused on me growing to become a confident public speaker and leader. Immediately after joining Traffic, I was assigned projects to get me started. The VP of ED (Jorge G.) and my assigned mentor (Joanne T.) took a vested interest in me, addressed concerns (aka FEARS) that I had, and allowed me to design a fast track development program to reach my goals. Each meeting is held in a structured professional manner and the immediate feedback received from club members regarding each speech and task performed, helped me perfect my approach. Within a few months, by the time I gave my 3rd speech, members told me that my confidence had grown ten-fold, and that I had acquired such great stage presence. When I joined, communication and leadership track instructional manuals were sent to me via the mail. The manuals contain project modules that focus on developing a certain characteristic, -- e.g., vocal variety, persuasion, greeting new comers, Meeting MC (Toastmaster), etc. -- providing details on how to make each characteristic strong and impactful. There are different roles to play that develops a different characteristics at each meeting. Every attendee is incorporated into the meeting in some way or fashion -- including the guests! Anyone interested in learning how to speak and lead with confidence, I definitely suggest they visit Traffic Toastmasters. It worked wonders for me, increasing my comfort level in speaking off the cuff -- it will work wonders for you too.

Excellence in Academic Teaching: Over the past six months, I've witnessed Danielle use tailored, individualized teaching techniques to significantly improve my daughter's (3rd grade) academic performance. In our most recent parent-teacher conference, everyone from her homeroom teacher to the administrators enthusiastically reported that my daughter was exactly where they expect a mainstream student to be at this point in the school year. This is a SIGNIFICANT change from years past. Excellence in Executive Function and Non-Academic Teaching: Not only has Danielle unleashed my daughter's inner-scholar, but Danielle has also instilled a learning tool box of tips and tricks to keep my daughter organized, on task, and engaged throughout her day. Dependable Partnership: Danielle and her team thrive on collaboration. As a parent, I was never out of the loop. Danielle got in touch with school teachers, counselors, and we parents to get everyone on the same page, headed for success. Moreover, Danielle has never unexpectedly missed a session and is invariably a consummate professional whether the session is in our home or on Zoom. I highly recommend Hand Over Hand Learning!

My son has been studying with Dave for the past 2+ years and we have seen an enormous and meaningful improvement in his playing and in his overall confidence. The semester culminates in a "gig" where the students demonstrate their snare exercise and then hop behind the kit to play through their cover song with a couple of pro-level musicians.
