When the flooring arrived, a few boxes had been damaged in shipment. Without us even asking, the delivery documents described the damage and offered a refund or credit. This high level of service is the reason to choose a local vendor instead of an internet vendor. We tried getting samples from some online vendors, but it was clear those were more interested in getting our email addresses to spam us than helping us choose the right floor. Highly recommended!

I first hired them to renovate two bathrooms last year and was so pleased with the results that I brought them back for a full kitchen remodel--which just wrapped up successfully. Their pricing is competitive, and the quality of work is very good. I was especially impressed with the electrical and tile work on both projects. The foreman and crews are skilled, professional, and efficient. Even though I had a designer, Keith and his team offered thoughtful suggestions that made the final result even more aligned with my vision. A couple things to keep in mind: as with any contractor, make sure to read your quotes carefully--I missed that trim work wasn't included in the original painting estimate. Also, the teams tend to start early, which was fine for me but might require a heads-up to your neighbors if noise is a concern. Overall, highly recommend them for home renovation projects!

I am seriously and honestly excited to tell you about Ely and his company. In today's world, rarely do I walk away from getting any kind of service-HAPPY! Guess what? Ely is that rarity we all hope to find. And - he really loves what he does! Now for a description of his service product: SUPERB! My disgusting carpet on my stairs is not only clean, but all the unmentionable filth and smells are gone. My bedroom: it's brand new (cloud-blue color) again!! Really! We needed to have our carpets cleaned throughout the house: a downstairs living room, a staircase, master bedroom, and smaller room used as a studio. Ely was prompt, staying in touch by text.. He gave a very fair price for the work that would be done. When I came home late in the afternoon carpets were well on their way to drying, and looked outstanding. Truly so. They are old, and were badly stained. They were looking great. There was just one stained area that he could not get out due to a decaf coffee spill. Ely was professional and explained what he would do with our couch cleaning on the phone and at the service. We have a light colored polyester/linen couch which picks up basically anything dropped on it and his work took all stains away! Being sensitive to chemicals and smells, I have found no reactions to the medium used which is a relief! He even went so far as to texting us other modalities to assist in helping keep the upholstery clean. Overall I highly recommend Surf City Steamers. read more

We hired maxima's for a move out deep clean for a 2bd/2.5bth town home. The estimate was $890 including windows. We were pretty shocked at the price but figured they would do a great job and accepted. Our place was pretty clean to begin with but we needed appliances, floors, walls etc. deep cleaned. The cleaners did a TERRIBLE job. The fridge looked like it had barely been wiped down (crumbs and things still under the shelves and smudges not wiped off) the bottom of the fridge was not even touched. Washing machine not cleaned at all, walls had not even been wiped down, smudges still obvious on light switches, floor in the pantry not swept or wiped down, window sill corners dusty. I let them know how terrible the job was and was offered a $50 discount. I asked for $100 and they agreed. At the time I asked for the discount I didn't realize the extent of how bad the "deep clean" was. Still paid nearly $800 and had to spend several hours cleaning including washing all the walls, Re cleaning appliances and window sills.

When we bought our house, the garage came with old, dilapidated cabinets. When I started putting…read morethings in and the bottom of the cabinet collapsed, I knew it was time for a replacement. I got two quotes: first from an independent contractor and then from Monkey Bars. Monkey Bars' quote was far more competitive, though I'm not sure if this was partly because I let them know that I had another bid. The reasonable pricing could also be because they don't accept credit cards for payment. Ryan, the owner, was my contact. He was punctual and professional throughout. Two weeks after I paid the deposit, the cabinets arrived. Ryan and his assistant did a good job with the demolition and installation and cleaned up reasonably well afterwards. I'm glad that I opted for the slightly pricier Signature series cabinets, which allowed for greater customization of dimensions and had features like thicker shelves, an enclosed backing and quiet-close hinges. After the installation, I noticed that one of the cabinets was slightly unlevel and the doors didn't line up perfectly. It wasn't too noticeable, but it did bug me. I let Ryan know and he found time to come over the next day to make everything straight. What service! So the next time my house runs out of storage space, you know who I'll be calling.
