We have had "Mr Cleaning" clean our home several times after we have guests stay. And we are always impressed with the level of cleanliness that they master. Sadly, I do not recommend this cleaning service. There are 5 major reasons: - I paid for a college tenant move-out "deep cleaning". The cleaner was well aware that I was cleaning for a new lease. I paid $1400 for a 3 bedroom 3 bath house. 7 people 3.5 hours and they missed many simple standard cleans such as the grease on the under side the microwave/hood, the top of the refrigerator was still covered in food crumbs, the bathroom light fixtures were still fuzzy with dust, inside the lid of the washer was filthy, and the overflow on the bathroom sinks were never wiped. I could go on. Basically, I had to reclean much of the house myself to turn it over to new tenants due to the unsatisfactory deep cleaning. Pictures incl. - I paid $550 extra for window cleaning but they pushed the screens fabric out of place in the frames and I needed to hire a handyman to fix them. - I paid $900 in total to remedy a walkway along the side of the house that had been used by a tenants' dog urine and was very smelly and unclean. First he came to clean and then later to pressure wash the area. Mr Clean did do this work but at the end of his work I walked in on him urinating in the place I had just paid him to clean. This was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. Who urinates where you are cleaning for urine smell? - Although I was initially relieved with the work Ed did, I was always very rushed, and did not get a chance to review all aspects of the work before he was asking me for the payment. Unauthorized use of my credit card! I agreed to pay by credit card 3 times and paid every time as requested- once for the original deposit to prove I was serious. Once for the cleaning before coming. And once when the job was complete. I was also very pressured to feel "tipsy" and so I did tip before realizing how awful the cleaning actually was. Then, we agreed to use Zelle for the final payment. I confirmed via text. 4 hours after confirming receipt of the Zelle email they charged my credit card without my authorization. The reason I was given is there were "red flags" that I would not pay. The only red flag was that the man was caught urinating on the house and clients property that had just paid him $3500 to clean. Full disclosure - I disputed the unauthorized credit card charge with my bank. I requested the return of my tip and the cost of the handyman. Mr Ed refused. Do Not Trust! read more

Used on two separate occasions for a mid-term rental in Santa Cruz, as a move-out cleaning and at a move out rate. Initial communication excellent. Timeliness great. Small one bed, one bath. First time didn't clean all the areas itemized as going to be cleaned. Company offered to return, but easier for me to complete the cleaning myself. Second time added interior window cleaning, but crew did not clean the windows. Took video and pictures of film on windows and dirt on rag after cleaning myself, no response. Mr. Cleaning did a fabulous job on my light colored carpeting and my couch at my rental in Aptos. I had used two other cleaners previously that did not get the carpets as clean as Mr. Cleaning. Also the dirt reappeared quickly with the inferior companies. The Mr. Cleaning job is still clean and bright. The entire experience with Mr. Cleaning left us feeling bullied and taken advantage of. More disappointed than words can express. Misleading and unprofessional. We contracted Ed for a deep cleaning on specific areas of a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. His price was higher than most, but we felt because he'd come recommended we'd try him. Big mistake. Overall our issue is that we contracted him to thoroughly (deep clean) "specific" areas of the house, (which he advertised). However it was really just a light cleaning. He didn't clean the one main thing he'd contracted to: a large, upper shelf above the kitchen where knickknacks were to be displayed. While I was away, Mr. Cleaning asked my partner to look at his work, she pointed out the places he'd obviously missed - like the big shelf in the kitchen. This is when he immediately became defensive and argued that he did a great job. However he never finished the shelf and said he wasn't equipped to do it. Afterword, our grandson cleaned it with some degreaser from Home Depo in about an hour. Once he'd departed, we both carefully looked over his work. He'd missed a lot. I called him the day after because my partner was so upset. I said, "Ed, how are you going to make it right." He again argued with me that he'd done a great job. So great in fact, that he actually fabricated a story that my partner tipped his people on the way out the door - which she clearly did not.
