One star is one too many. A smart businessman or businesswoman would take a first time fare as an opportunity to earn repeat business. My driver was a very unwise businesswoman. Not only was I not made aware prior to that it is a dollar per minute wait time, but my driver decided to tip herself and add $5 to my fare. $40 for less than 7 miles traveled. In my 42 years I have used over 30 taxi services, this one being the absolute worst of them all. Would not ever recommend, use your legs and save your money. read more

Cero stars! This service is an example of a monopoly gone wrong. There is no other taxi service in Monticello, but the service could be better but is not. You have to wait 13 minutes to speak to an operator, and when the regressive count reaches zero after "Your waiting time is 30 seconds", then it goes backward... "Your waiting time is 1 minute... and so on". I'm a 70-year-old man who had to walk 3.5 miles yesterday night after waiting for half an hour at the bus stop trying to communicate with the taxi service... It was impossible. The ride was ok but long wait time to get back home and was very helpful when I needed help.

I called asking for a basic quote. I gave approximate mileage and time required to travel and she flat out refused to give me a quote and then hung up on me. When I called back and asked to speak to the owner her response was "Why because I wont play your games?!" How is asking for a quote a game? I wouldn't bother even trying to call. This is clearly a self-employment opportunity for someone who is so unprofessional she can't work for anyone other than herself. I am astounded someone would be so rude from the get go. read more

As a former employee of Sureway, I can honestly say that they have nothing but disdain for their customers. Customers are nothing but money for the owner. From overworked drivers, to poorly maintained vehicles, the owner shows his utter lack of care or concern for ANYONE riding in his vehicles. Making a profit is one thing; endangering the lives of your drivers and customers in your quest to wring every penny out of your business is a whole different ballgame. Furthermore, from closed-door meetings on how to deal with certain ethnic and religious groups, to abysmal customer service, it is a wonder that this company is still in business. Sullivan County residents can only hope that Uber, Lyft, and other ride-sharing companies gain a greater foothold in our area. I called Sureway at 3:08 PM today and was told I would have a taxi in 30 minutes. I called again at 3:30 and was told not to worry. I called again after 4PM and was told that there were no cabs in Liberty. I was waiting on Main Street and had been passed by Sureway cabs at least 8 times in the hour I waited. I hung up and called an Uber, which came in 15 minutes. read more

Sureway No way! We hired them to drive and pick us up from the James Taylor/Jackson Brown Concert in Bethel Woods on August 21, 2021. Courtney arrived promptly at 6:00pm. It was a great concert! Problem was after calling numerous times from 10:30 pm -12:00am they never sent a cab. We were two seniors stranded outside in the dark under a canopy in the rain. We found ourselves in a dangerous situation. This company has a callous disregard for their clientele. After telling us at 12:00 am that a cab would arrive in 1/2 hour by 12:40 nothing. Their phone was off the hook. We found out later they close at 12:00 am. Calls to the police were futile. Yellow cab was unavailable. Uber and Lyft had no cars nearby. Luckily we paid one of the young women working there to drive us to our motel. The alternative would have been stranded there all night. Buyer Beware! Sureway is unreliable and untrustworthy. No Way Sureway. Never again. If you patronize the concerts drive your own vehicle. read more

I have been calling non stop for well over 30 minutes; with a busy signal and then it finally rang and they hung up on me. I called right back and it's busy again. How does one run a taxi business and your phone number is busy? Is someone at your office, a member of your staff, yapping their jaws with a friend? Are they exchanging recipes or trash talking the basketball game that is currently on TV? In any event, maybe if they actually do pick up the phone, maybe I can write another review about how bad the service is all the way around?? Maybe, it could be a wonderful review and maybe one of the best cab rides, I've ever experienced in my life?? I guess we will never know, because it's going on 40 minutes and the line is still busy. Completely rude assholes that work here. We were given a price of $50 for one trip; called back the next day to book and were told $65 and that we had to prepay. When we questioned it, the lady turned into a brusque, obnoxious, impatient jerk. Asked to speak with a manager/owner, which was even worse. LImited options out this way, but go elsewhere. read more

It seem like the dispatcher or should I say dis- placer usually grumpy and doesn't care about her drivers or patrons. She had me in the cab along with 2 other patrons. In addition, one of the patron had not one, not two but three stops to make prior to going home. One the of stops was to go back to where I was picked up. How ridiculous!!! The driver called the dispatcher to let her know that I had just got off work and she didn't want to have me riding along. The dis-placer hung up on her. Disrespectful!!! I was in the cab for over 25 minutes which should have been I a under a 10 minute ride. read more

I never, never, never take sure way for two simple reasons: highest price of any local cab company, they put multiple fares in the same car and charge everyone full price. I don't mind splitting a cab with someone but split the price or give a discount. The drivers are down with it since they work on percentage. read more

I used this service from Liberty NY to Loch Sheldrake ( Stagedoor Manor ) at 6pm. I told the driver that I would be calling back. Being out of town it appeared that all taxi's were on the same radio dispatch. When I called to get picked up the radio dispatcher rudely hung up on me. I called back because I thought it was an accident and he admitted he hung up on me. I gladly paid extra price to use yellow cab because of this disrespectful dispatcher with the worse attitude I have ever encountered. I have been a dispatcher and know very well how many times the phone rings. Unfortunately you knocked your nice driver out of a tip and your company out of business. I travelled at around 6:15 , Was wearing a green hat. Ask your driver if I did not tip well. You do your business no favors. I'm a quick and easy fair, about a mile down the road and tip almost as much as my fair. Won't be calling sureway again. Got told 10 minutes had to call back 25 minutes later and was told I never called for a cab. Funny pretty sure I dialed the numbers and spoke with someone. "Look it's still right here in my phone" guess I'm not crazy! Sorry drivers your dispatch costs you your good tipping customers read more
