Note: this company will decline your business if you have worked with another service processing firm that was unsuccessful in completing service. Really so surprised to hear that. Out of every service company I've talked to, they are the only ones with this policy. Here is the transcript of their response sent via email (with the contents of my initial email below): "We have received your email regarding service of XXX documents. We refrain from taking on documents that have been unsuccessfully handled by other process serving firms." My email to them: Greetings, I hired a local (Sacramento) process service company to serve a defendant with XX paperwork. The defendant was properly served. Then, I needed to serve the defendant with a XX and another XX summons and the process service company has attempted service eight times with no success. However, they are using the same process server as original service and therefore the defendant is likely evading/avoiding the server when he arrives at the home door. I am disappointed with the lack of ingenuity of this service company. Is there anything your service company could do to increase the likelihood of successful service? I have the following documents to serve: XX for XX and XX for XX and a XX for XX. Additionally, next week I will receive the XX for our XX filing and at that time I will need to serve XX employer with a wage garnishment. I guess that I was the one in 50 that he couldn't provide service for. I will admit that the restraining order was going to a very evasive person and my issue isn't even that he was not able to serve it (I had to get someone else to serve it). My issue isn't even that he still charged me the $250 even though he didn't succedd the service. My issue is that I called him multiple times to let him know that I didn't need his service and I left messages each time and he didn't call me back for over a week.
