If you are a professional in the publishing industry, you should not use this company.
I've been in the business for about three years, and have learned a lot. These people seem to know virtually nothing.
I was impressed with their website, and decided to proceed with an initial test order of 100 copies of a novel.
The amount they charged was commensurate with "offset", so I foolishly assumed that I would receive that. I was wrong. I admit my mistake here.
They delivered a "digital" print run that looked terrible. The books were so bad that I wasn't able to make them available for sale - I threw them in the recycling bin.
I lost several hundreds of dollars.
If you are an amateur who doesn't care how your books look, you might consider using this company, but you should keep in mind the fact that Sure Print & Design charge a lot. You could get "offset" (way better quality) for the same price.
I could go on and on about the many ridiculous communications that I had with these people but, in the interest of brevity, I'll just say this:
When I complained about the terrible bleed/trim, a Sure Print employee sent me a photo she had taken of a page in the book that clearly showed how bad their work was, and she wrote, "It looks fine".
As a result of my fruitless attempts to find common ground, I gave up and counted the whole thing as a loss.
POST-ARTICLE NOTE: Because I can't afford to lose this much money, I've decided to retrieve, from the recycling bin, and sell the twenty-five or so copies that are "passable". This will reduce my losses to only about five hundred dollars. This is a dark day for me. read more
