They set up the 'Angies List' connection. On the first visit, the tech stated that a part was needed to do the job. He comes on 2nd visit, states that the garbage disposal is larger and we needed to get a smaller 1/2 size. No mention of the part he needed to buy which was assessed on the 1st visit. Now we have to return the product to Lowe's. Time wasted here and unfortunate/inconvenient that on the 'first visit', all of these 'potentials' were not reviewed, noticed or assessed prior so that that there would not be the need for a 3rd visit/prolonging the installation. An uncomfortable feeling looms in the air. This is was the experience, my fair observation and review. First time contacting this contractor. I gave my address and never heard back, so I moved on to another company. Today, 10 days after they never responded after I gave my address, while in the middle of a meeting, I hear a bang outside and my dog freaks out. I go outside to find two men with a ladder against the front of my house and climbing to the roof! I had no idea they were coming and they were fully on their way to climbing up my house without my permission! The problem wasn't even on the roof, so I have no idea what they would have done once they got up there. When I messaged the company to say I didn't appreciate them coming unannounced and unscheduled, I was told it was my fault for not specifying that I expected a call before they showed up! Wild. Do NOT send this company your address--even for an estimate--or else they may randomly show up to your house and climb up on your roof unannounced and they will go up there whether you are home or not. Then if it bothers you they will blame YOU!

I have found Marcy the owner is to be straightforward and honest, and though she can be a bit brusque at times, as she is in the Philadelphia roofing business I can understand. Their pricing is reasonable for quality of work. No roofer is cheap and if you apparently find one, don't trust them. We have a complicated roofscape (skylights, large AC unit mounts and penetrations, and major crickets required to clear drainage obstructions) and some leaking problems that predate our ownership. Castelli, and particularly their foreman Jimmy, have been generous in attending to drainage problems that may or may not have been a result of their work. I appreciate their work and the efforts made to help us negotiate our finicky roof.

On April 14th, my husband signed a contract with Exterior Boss (attached) to install 5 windows for…read more$7,071. This was paid in full with my credit card, and the contract states "Paid in full." The contract states "start installation on or about 4-6 weeks from above date." The contractor did not come to the house until October 11. Between April and October I would call every couple of weeks to ask when the windows would be installed. I was told that the windows had to be custom made and were on back order. They did not call me with progress about the windows, I always called them. In September my friend & I drove to their office in Turnersville to ask about the windows. The manager told me they were still on order, my friend kept asking why the windows weren't here yet, and the manager cursed at us and told us to leave. On October 11, Exterior Boss sent a contractor, Thermal Home Energy, to install the windows. They installed 3 of the 5 windows, but did a bad job. Now I have to get a contractor in to fix this mess. Thermal Home Energy did. After Thermal Home Energy installed the 3 windows, the contractor said we would need to have the siding replaced around every window in the house. That day we signed a contract with Thermal Home Energy to replace the siding, replace the soffit, as well as attach a new lattice around our deck, and power wash the outdoor siding for $4,000. This was paid in full with a check and the contract states paid in full. At the end of the day, Thermal Home Energy did not replace the soffit, or install any new lattice. Our contract with Thermal Home Energy was to replace the siding, replace the soffit, install a deck lattice, and power wash the outdoor siding - but the soffit was not replaced, lattice was not installed, and debris was left outside.

We bought a new construction house constructed by Steinbiss in 2016 in south Philadelphia. For example, we had to put in a $25,000 home insurance claim because of a water pipe that had a nail driven through it during construction. Upon ripping up the floors to repair the water damage, we discovered all of the sub-flooring on the first and second floors in the house was improperly laid down the wrong way and completely unlevel. Steinbiss' solution to fixing our uneven subfloors was using cardboard to lay the floor on top of. It is extremely obvious this company doesn't care at all about quality. Their only priority is making money. I STRONGLY urge anyone considering purchasing a house from Steinbiss to stay away!!
